More of just a bar than a sushi restaurant in my opinion. I loved my drink, sushi was below par. I will go again some day to be fair and thorough, however my first time was unimpressive.

Was excited to finally try this place with friends and family tonight. I looked at pictures last night figuring out what I should get. I decided on the Fuji Mountain. Which is tempera shrimp, cream cheese, and spicy crab roll. But on top was deep fried calamari. So yummy! I really like that the sushi pieces were thick and full and were fulfilling. I tried my Husband’s mango roll. WOW! So delicious with the fresh mango on it. I also had the amazing COEDO USA beer flights. Featuring a beautifully crafted Black Lager, IPA, Hefeweizen, and Sweet Potato Lager. My fave was the sweet potato Lager!
We will definitely be coming back, this is our new fave in the Mo!

Excellent fresh sashimi, beautifully presented and tasty. A perfect match for their sushi rolls. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome awesome place! I kid you not the sushi here is amazing! The first time I came here I was blown away with the service and the quality of the food that I definitely needed to return. Everything tastes great and portions are big. You leave feeling full and completely satisfied.
Totally, 100% recommend this place and try the jalapeño poppers too!

Food was good. Pork belly is my fav! My husband enjoyed the ribs. Monster Roll is yummy. It wasn’t off the chart but it also wasn’t that bad. Compared to other sushi spots I been too, this would probably be one of my «new usuals» were you can find me at once in a blue moon. Maybe once every 2 weeks lol…

I am a sushi snob and my friend swore up and down this place was trustworthy AND that they had Japanese Whiskey which of course made it even more enticing. We ordered some simple apps and then the real test came… sashimi… and yes my friends it was so good we ordered another round. The fact that it take you back to the cool factor of having you own bottle at a bar is an ultimate plus. Think liquor locker at you fave sushi spot… #winning!

My boyfriend and I came in for some sushi on a Sunday and it was nice that we got there before the crowd. We did get a lot of attention from the waitress which was nice. When we first arrived she tried to sit right next to a family when there was plenty of other booths and we were the only other people there besides the people eating at the bar like I understand when the restaurant is full and that’s where they can fit us but I mean when there’s no one else do you really have to seat us by another crowd. So I asked for the next booth over. When we went up to pay this poor guy had to get up and get the waiters attention and waited along with us so he could ask for water. I mean honestly how do you forget his table when he was sitting right in front of the kitchen at the high tables. I liked my food presentation was nice. We sat by the window and it was kind of harsh with the curtain being only half way so the brightness was harsh. They should consider blinds or lowering the curtains just enough to make it more elegant because it’s a nice place needed more of that kind of elegance even though is a casual place.

My wife and I love this place. Best sushi around. We always get sake bombs as well! Our favorites are The Lion King bsked roll and the Tiger Roll. Miso soup is great, just wished they had garlic Edamame. The servers are okay. They rarely clear the empty dishes and glasses which is really annoying when I have to ask them to do it. But the sushi is great :)

Tried this place out, because my girlfriend and I still haven’t found a sushi restaurant that we both like and we’ve finally found it. The service was quick even though we ordered to go. We got 4 rolls and it came out to 48 bucks. We got the Dragon roll, Spider roll, Flamingo roll, and the Incredible roll. By far our favorite was the Incredible roll, if you like spicy crunchy rolls this is the one for you. Definitely going to be buying lots more incredible rolls lol. Overall all the rolls were delicious and fresh.

Great service by the staff. Clean and delicious. The manager was very knowledgeable in his selection as well as having an artisan approach to his distinct craft cocktails. I was able to link in to their wifi and a tad bit of work at the bar. I’ll be showing up again!

Not only is customer service great but the eats are a match. Between chicken skins, bacon wrapped scallops, pork belly skewers, chicken hearts and amaze sushi rolls I can’t decide what I like best. Not to mention the tasty selection of Japanese beers, sake, libations, and wines leaves me wanting more. Love the concept, vibe and the fact they are bringing something new to Modesto. They stand on their own and made a repeat customer out of me.

Modesto’s newest Sushi place has a lot to offer. Ample appetizer menu and some very unique rolls. And everything tasted extremely fresh! Only critic is we ordered the spicy calamari and then a roll that had calamari on it as well. Had the server stated the amount of calamari on the roll I would have picked a different appetizer. I hate wasting food and wasted a lot of calamari because it was over the top.

Came here after a long day of work. I just needed to download for dinner. I wanted something healthy, yet something fullfilling. So, I came here.
I walked in. I asked to sit at the bar. They had tvs with couple of games on. Liked that. I ordered some rolls. So, there were few items I ordered: chef choices on sashimi. Good taste test to good sashimis, smell them. You can smell the freshness. I smelt them. No freshness. Decent, but nothing like bay area freshness. Overall, food was decent. This place is probably a high end for Modesto, but really not my type of place because of the prices. Felt like I was in SF when I saw the prices.

We have been here several times and the food is always top shelf. We have never had a bad roll here!
And if you are a whiskey fan, be sure and try the Japanese whiskeys they have. The Hibiki 12 year is fantastic, and if you are feeling like treating yourself, go for the 17 year. Smooth and silky. It’s worth the cost of the pour!

This place is better then the places people tried to promote on these reviews … I took my kids here and they loved it the strawberry sushi roll was insane good and the surf n turf. Can’t wait to come back
