Raley’s

Service is ok. Stores pretty clean. But it’s too over priced for my budget. I mean $ 5 for the same pack of cookie dough that’s $ 2.50 on average. $ 2.50 for pringles. milk $ 4… to get a few items you’ll probably spend a minimum of $ 10 Additional dollars. I’ll continue to drive ½ a mile further to save my money sorry.

I’ve come here twice this week to pick up some things before heading home after work. I really like their big natural food and drink selection and the produce guy Doug is awesome. Today I went to look for pesto and I saw there was a little jar in the produce and asked Doug if there was any other kind of pesto in the store. He named 3 aisles that I could find it. This guy must of been here for a while. Then I headed to check out and this lady had picked up a different kind of melon and she was wanting to know if it was ripe and if she picked a good one. The cashier called up Doug to help this woman and he walked passed me and looked in my basket then helped the woman out with her fruit when he walked away and said Oh good you found some, that’s the good stuff. Made me smile that there are still helpful people in grocery stores and with customer service. It’s hard to find these days. I would rather stop here on my way home and pay more than go to other stores where there is no customer service.

This place has changed over the years. The old timers are top notch. Always friendly. Exceptional customer service. This is what keeps me coming back. Some of the new employees need to brush up on basic politeness. Good produce. Excellent sandwiches. Cakes are deee-​lish! Overall good grocery store.

I come to Raley’s on occasion for dinner items and it is a fairly large grocery store. There are a lot of fresh veggies and fruit in the produce section which I enjoy. There is also a bakery with a wide variety, bonus! The deli has a wide variety. The meat selection is mediocre compared to other places I shop but they do have good cuts of meat for a good price. There is a large alcohol section as well.
When you check out here you don’t even have to take it out of the cart, they take it out for you. The lines aren’t fast but aren’t slow either which is a plus. Sometimes customer service is quiet, but that’s ok, I’m sure people get tired of talking all day. Either way I get what I need when I come to Raley’s.

Peets! Peets?
I came to the store to see if they had Peet’s coffee available. It’s back in the southmost corner. I would have asked someone, but no employee who passed me seemed friendly.
By the time I found the Peet’s counter, by the bakery and deli, I wondered if it would be any good. It’s just a counter, similar to the Manteca store.
I ordered a Caramel Freddo from the beleaguered but friendly employee. She was doing 10 things at once, and eventually, as she started my drink, others arrived to ask why she had opened an oven.
By the time I got my drink, my migraine had made itself known, and as I walked out, I noticed that she forgot any extra flavor, giving me a Caffe Freddo instead.
Maybe next time, they could have two people watching the bakery and deli.

Is it me? Or everyone here is really nice?
I was asked by every employees here if I needed help. I like this atmosphere. So I come here to shop most of the times. It’s about 1 minute away. Makes my life easy hehe.

Everytime I come shopping here there is always people standing in line down the aisles with 2 registers open!
I had to grab a few items tonight, not counting how many items I had (didn’t look like much) so I got in the express line. The cashier did NOT even greet me to say hello, the first thing out of his mouth was «ummm, it looks like you are exceeding the 20 item limit! And he looked at the customer behind me and said «wow, I would have yelled at her!!!» And I said, yeah well I guess I am, I wasn’t about to stand in a line that had 5 people standing down the aisle so my ice cream could melt, and by the way last time I came to stand in this line i was in this «express» line for 20 minutes waiting on the customer in front of me wanted to give you coupons after coupons!
So after Vergil (or however you spell his name) rang up all my items he made it clear how many items I really had! Hmm, looks like I will be calling to speak with a manager. I’m sorry but that is not how you should greet your customer regardless how many items I have, you should be happy I am shopping here!

Never forget to check the expiration date of their beer. I’ve gotten skunk’ed beer here more often than I like to admit.

While I don’t regularly shop here, I do stop in for some items I can’t find anywhere else like Blue Cheese & Bacon Potato Salad (shouldn’t but it’s a treat from time to time). The store itself is always clean and the staff are always warm and welcoming.
If I lived closer, this would be my store for sure!

The best meat and produce but there prices are high

This is my local neighborhood supermarket, right around the corner literally. Everyone is really helpful, and always willing to help. Employees are friendly, and the store usually offers samples which are super tasty! This store saved my life this Mothers Day when just about every other place was either sold out of bouquets of flowers, or had the old wilted and dead ones left. I came into Raleys and was able to purchase and beautiful bouquet that my mother loved! The store is clean, and the health food section never lets me down!

I frequent this Raley’s because it is the closest grocery store to my house. Sale prices are hard to beat. They always have everything I need from groceries to late night tummy medicine. I LOVE their deli sandwiches, but sometimes getting one is a hastle. There are only a few employees I will allow to make my sandwich. The others either can’t seem to get anything right (even though I tell them step by step) or they give me a bunch of attitude. Otherwise everyone is super pleasant and helpful. Never any problems outside the deli!

great products and store is clean but cashiers are not so friendly. i know u dont want to work weekends but damn haha. prices are cheap. produce is fresh and poultry is good quality.

I love going to the Modesto house because of Raleys… Unfortunately the last experience let me down a little. There was a chashier here who was rude to my aunt and I did not appreciate it… Yay to Raleys for fresh produce… boo on the customer service

I work down the road from this particular store and find it a convenient spot to grab some quick lunch to eat at my desk. I always figure when walking in… ‘Oooo here we go with the grocery store deli’s… this should be fun” But everyone there is actually very pleasant. I swear the first time I walked in the store everyone was being reviewed by the big boss… everyone was smiles and «can I help you!»? around every corner… but that’s just the way the folks are here.
The ladies in the deli are super. Always gracious and willing to help. Also, they don’t get snotty when you ask for a sample of pasta salad. They are more than delighted.
Minus one star for the checkout lines always being cramped.
