not sure who the girl at the optical desk was as i’ve never seen her but she was rude. please hire people who know what customer service is

NEVER SEE DR. MARTIN!
He is so rude and was talking me like I was one of the young girls that worked there! So unprofessional !!

I am not a customer of Sylvan Eye but my son is. Recently he went in because his vision is very bleary. The opthamalogist did an exam and dilated his eyes and told him he would have to make an appointment with the optometrist. My son understood that he was getting a new prescription that day. He came home and asked me to get it for him because he was so dizzy. When I went into the office the ladies behind the counter were so rude and short with me that i instantly lost my temper. They remembered my son and said he was very confused and disoriented and when I asked them why they had not called anyone on his heppa list to come pick him up, they said it was not their responsibility. These two women have absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. What they should have said is how sorry they were and did realize how confused he was. They didn’t even ask if they could do anything to help him get new glasses quicker. From this experience, I don’t think this office cares anything about basic right and wrong or its patients. I would never recommend this office. The two girls I talked with need to be fired.

They wouldn’t book me an appointment for Saturday because my insurance (United Health Care) isn’t open that day and they might have problems. Just seems odd/​unnecessary to me that they’re even expecting any issues. You’d think a better plan would’ve been put in place.

Dr Lutosky is great at what she does but the one issue that I always encounter when coming here is the wait time and customer service of the employees. Numerous times, I had to wait over an hour or more after the scheduled appointment time. Upon check in there’s always a wait time inside and it’s such a convenience. Also the check in lady in the front is rude and one time she even complained about me asking the wait time. Can’t wait to finish with our procedures here and continue services elsewhere!

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. Dr marten has always been pleasant, comical, and informative. You guys need to get Ray Bans!!!

I have been going to Sylvan Eye for many years… I have always been treated with the utmost respect and care.
I just went on Monday for my appt!
Dr. Martin was not only on time, but very though with my exam.
He then referred me to his staff member, Tammy Rocha, for new frames.
She is the most pleasant and patient employee.
She not only fitted me for new frames… I inquired about contacts and then went on to ask about prescription sunglasses!
Tammy was extremely helpful and not pushy in any way. She made sure I was going to be satisfied before leaving.
I will always be a patient at Sylvan Eye just because Tammy Rocha!

had apt with eye specialist then never informed my insurance didn’t cover glasses they made sure they got paid for service that didn’t matter and then they never dilated eyes

I always get compliments on the frames I’ve gotten from Sylvan Eye. MD Martin is a great MD and funny sense of humor. I have never had a bad experience here and I’ve taken hours of their time to shop frames over the years and never has anyone been rude or pushy for a sale. I’m headed back on Monday to pick out my next pair of frames or the year :)

Most recently came back to have an RX filled for my little girl. It was approximately 40 minutes before the eyewear office closed. We walked and and the two ladies working rolled their eyes. My 6 year old was rushed into picking out glasses. We all felt very rushed. Worst experience here ever! I love the doctors (reason for 3 stars) and usually like the ladies in eyewear but today they were terrible! My advice, don’t go close to closing time…
Recently have gone back and had an nicer experience. The young lady that helped us pick glasses was very sweet and helpful.

I have taken family there several times and there’s something that bugs me about this place each and every time I go.
You check in… then they call you back up to the desk. EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve been there, they never ask the patient how they are doing, the first thing out of their mouth is I need to collect your co-​pay.
That tells me that they care about one thing and one thing only… YOUR MONEY. I prefer to go to a doctor who is there to take care of the person, not to get all your money. If i can help it, I will do my best NOT to go to this clinic (sometimes insurance leaves you no choice).
The only reason they got the second star is because it appears that the last time i went in, the eye surgery helped… but they still didn’t care about you as a person.

Tip: You have 6 months from date of your eye exam to go back and have eyes re-​checked and lens re-​done at no cost. It’s kind of a «warranty» type thing.
Both my husband and daughter had glasses done at this office. The office is very clean, parking is ample and accessible. Customer service is great. They didn’t do anything above and beyond but they provided me with what I needed in a timely manner and that is what matters most.

I had an appt with Dr Steinberg, very professional. Great staff! Some of the assistants were less than excited to be at work that day and it shows on their faces.

I went to Sylvan Eye Associates for the first time this month and I was very impressed with the office. I arrived early for my appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork, however, my appointment was much later than I thought. The receptionist asked me to take a seat and said they would try to bump me up. The technician came no more than 5 minutes later and said she’d at least get me started since she wasn’t busy.
My experience with Dr. Martin was great. He was friendly and talkative during the exam. He did discuss laser surgery with me, but he wasn’t pushy about it which I appreciated. I mentioned to him that I typically ordered my contacts through 1−800-Contacts, and he informed me that they will be discontinuing my brand soon, however, he said he would keep this as my prescription for as long as they carry it (most would have tried to put me in a more expensive brand and tried to convince me to order from the office).
I didn’t plan on selecting glasses that day because I wanted to go somewhere a little less expensive (Costco), however I decided to take a look and have the sales associate check my insurance. Luckily they accepted both of my vision insurance plans (Yay for still being on my dad’s!), so I decided to purchase from them. The associate was very sweet and patient, especially given the fact that I had to try on almost every pair and wait for a final verdict from my sisters! Since I didn’t plan on using my insurance for contacts she even upped he anti-​glare to the next level, which came at no cost to me (yay insurance).
All in all, the experience was great. Everyone was friendly and worked efficiently. I am glad I chose Dr. Martin and Sylvan for my new eye care provider.

I have been going to Sylvan since 2002, good people and doctors. The Best Being in Town, for the eye’s!

The employees are very nice and one helped me pick out my glasses … I think her name was Crystal? She said that the glasses would compliment my eyes and nice things like that. They had lots to choose from and I love my glasses so much.

Hi had an appointment with Dr Horner Today was totally disappointed with his lack of professionalism! I was insulted on two separate occasions regarding my eye glasses because I had not purchase it them from their office on my past exam, his exact words were that my glasses and I quote are like a 4 pound cell phone and outdated by 25 years! After my exam I was rushed to speak to his sales person to buy my new glasses from them and after I said I would like to go somewhere else to purchase she was very abrupt and rude and rushed me to the cashier to get me out of there, mind u I have been a patient there since 1999 and I will not go back next year for my exam and I will tell all my friends and family not to take their business there. I had eye exam, glasses and sunglasses done here in May 2012. The optomeitrist side is run very efficiently. All staff were helpful and pleasant. Dr. Martin was very friendly and I felt comfortable about his recommendations.
Nicki helped me pick out frames for computer glasses and sunglasses. Very helpful. She was able to zero in on what I wanted pretty quickly.
Less than a week to pick up the glasses. Adjustments were made for my obviously crooked face. I did pick expensive glasses so the costs were high but overall am very happy with my experience here.

I had a prescription and came in to look for a new pair of glasses. Nicki was great in helping me choose frames and find the perfect pair. There were many stylish options to choose from. I was so happy with my experience I went back a few months later for another pair of glasses and also some sunglasses.
I also took my son in for an eye exam. He is develpmentally delayed and we had recently had an awful experience with another eye doctor. I found the staff at Sylvan Eye to be very compassionate and kind. The doctor was very patient and interacted extremley well with my son. He was able to do a complete exam. Needless to say, we will be back!.

I went here with a prescription, looking to get fitted for glasses.
They told me they wanted to do an examination anyway, and that my insurance would cover it. I did not want to do this since I already had a prescription. They assured me I would not have to pay for the exam.
I reluctantly agreed.
After the exam, they told me they had made a mistake, and my insurance would not cover anything, and I would have to pay for the exam.
They had me confused with another patient.
100% their mistake.
I refused to pay and did not get fitted for glasses.
Now they have ruined my credit for a $ 110 charge that they admitted was their own mistake.
I will never consider going there again.
