This time shopped right next door at Allen Carpet for 1150 sq. ft. of Karastan Risqué WearDated nylon carpet for 4 bedrooms, hallway and stairs.
Pleased with sales experience, on-​time delivery, and installed within 3 weeks of order by a two-​person crew.
Can recommend Danny in sales, Irene in scheduling, and install team headed by Marvin.
Pluses:
* Lot of carpet choices in terms of grade and type of material
* Knowledgeable sales
* Install team showed up on time, as promised
* Very little excess carpet after install
* Seams were logically and inconspicuously placed
* Price was all-​in: delivery and freight, 6 lb padding, rip up, $ 200 stairs surcharge, moving large pieces of furniture and putting it back, labor, and sales taxes.
* The crew worked non-​stop for 12.5 hours to complete the job in one work day. Much appreciated. It’s hard work.
For an exact quote: Leave a $ 100 deposit and Danny comes out to your house. He measures and works up a plan how material will be used with the least waste.
Tip: Chose 8 lb padding for less spongy feel. For us, standard 6 lb was fine in the bedrooms and within specification by carpet mfr.
Alert: buyer is responsible for haul away of old carpet. Old carpet is cut up, taped and bundled. Here in Cortlandt, bulk pick up is once monthly. Perhaps years ago, installer would haul away old carpet. As explained to us, new risk of bed bugs means old carpet cannot go onto truck. Makes sense.
Overall impression: professional operation. And they move a lot of carpet.
