Izzi’s Ristorante

Stopped in expecting to find Café Pizazz and found it had been replaced with a new restaurant so we decided to try it out. It was a quiet night and there weren’t too many customers so I started to worry but once our meal came I was delighted. I got one of the specials: Penne Portofino which was delicious!
Service was very friendly and the owner was busy by the pizza oven but took the time to say hello which I thought was very nice. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

Sorry to say I was totally disappointed. If I wrote everything that was wrong it would take too long to write. To sum it up, poor service, appetizers were not very good, waited forever to get the food, everyone at the table got their food and mine never came, took just under three hours to have a two course meal. We were a party of eight, but still terrible service and way too long for average food.

We celebrated our daughter’s communion party, and we had an excellent time! The food was awesome and such big portions. Everyone was pleased and had a great time! The ambiance is very nice and the staff very friendly. The owner what a guy, made sure everything went well very accommodating from the service down to the music we chose to play. Definitely recommend the place and will return again! Thank you William!

Great meal from start to finish. The service was great. The appetizers (baked clams and mozzarella caprice) and main courses (pork chops alfresco, which was to die for and a gluten-​free pasta) were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Homemade cheesecake for dessert was also excellent. After adding a new chef and tweaking their menu a bit Izzi’s has really raised the bar for other restaurants in the area. We will definitely be returning!

Bad, just bad. The waitress never came over to us. I flagged down another waitress who went to find her. She came over and took our order. We got our apps which were ok. Our waitress comes back and says, ok would you like dessert? I said, well I’d like my entrée first. She said, you didn’t get it? Ugh. Entrees of veal with cherry peppers and eggplant rollatini were ok too. But, and here’s where it got hairy (wait for it)…I ordered the cannoli for dessert. There was a huge black hair in the cream. I’m blonde so it clearly wasn’t my hair. I told the Einstein waitress there is a hair in my cannoli. She said «Airy? I’ll let the chef know he messed up». Safe to say, we won’t be going back.

Just terrible, went once & I won’t ever go back. Everything sucked. If you can’t to the basic marina, chicken Parm, meatballs — you should not be allowed to call yourself an italian restaurant.

Our waitress was awesome, very personable and attentive. The owner, William, came to the table to introduce himself. The portion sizes are good and the food is excellent. I’ve tried chicken dishes, pasta, and appetizers and all were amazing. You would never think that a small place tucked in the corner of a strip mall in Mohegan lake would be this good, but it is!

Food is delicious! The owner came to our table and personally introduced himself and asked how our dinner was. Definitely will be returning! Service was excellent, very friendly and courteous staff.

On a trip back home and first time here. Around 12 tables with a bar. Very nice atmosphere and Very friendly service. Nice sized menu and the items come in family or dinner sized. We Had the crab cake appetizer special– 2 well sized cakes tasty. The table had the Calamari with pasta– mom said very well cooked and seasoned. Wife had the Fettuccini Alfredo. Sauce was buttery with the right amount of cheese. I had the baked Rigatoni (asked for extra cheese) and it was screaming hot with loads of melted cheesy goodness. I thought the bar tab was a little nor than it should be. However it’s more than offset by the reasonable prices of the food. My massive plate was $ 14. We felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. We will be back.
