This place is located right on the flight line. Great food, great ambiance! Friendly staff.

If you are traveling through Mojave on either SR14 or SR58 it is worth your time to pull into the Air and Space Port and grab a bite to eat at this friendly establishment located adjacent to the tower. The food is well executed, particularly the sandwiches and the hot breakfast offerings are cooked correctly. My only minor issue with the breakfast menu is the French Toast, which is thin sliced sandwich bread as opposed to a more thicker slice of bread(it was quite good, but if you want something more substantial opt for something else.) Give the place high marks for warming the maple syrup container for griddle items. One of the bonuses of eating here is watching the flight line activity through the windows. Skip the chain restaurants and come here for a break from the road.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel like nobody else knows about it and I’ve visited it twice after great camping trips in the desert. The peanut butter burger is literally one of the top 3 burgers I’ve ever had and my friend swears the grilled cheese was top notch too. Do yourself a favor and stop by this little Mojave gem if you are in the area. It doesn’t look like much, but that’s the allure if you ask me.

I love this place!!! It’s my favorite place to come for breakfast or brunch. It’s on the flight line at Mojave airport so there’s a heavy aviation theme which I think is cool. The food is good, the tables are clean, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. What more could you ask for?

While visiting the Mojave Air and Space Port, I figured I would eat at the restaurant there. I had eaten breakfast just a few hours ago, but I had a rumbly in my tumbly, and thought second breakfast would be good. Schoolteacher and I walked from the park over to the restaurant, named after the Rutan Voyager project that happened in 1986. As we entered, I looked around, and noticed that the place definitely had an aerial theme goin on with the decorations, menu items and overall motif. All of the tables by the window(and runway) were taken. Bummer. A large sign advertised ‘Plane Days’ where kids could interact with planes somehow. I only glanced at it. I’m sure the airport website has more info. Schoolteacher and I were seated beneath a great big map of the world, showing the flight path taken by the crew of the Voyager. Autographed photos also hung nearby. Waitress had gone off to grab our drinks as we perused the menu. The Menu has a good deal of stuff. Appetizery items, Breakfasty items, Burgery Items, Salady items, Sandwichy items… lots of options to choose from. I found myself looking into the the all day breakfast items, as the items in that section of he menu were named after cool planes. I honestly found myself debating between choosing the plane I liked, or choosing the breakfast item I liked. I did my best to read the menu options, and after teetering on the fence between the BlackBird(Sausage Patty and Eggs) and the F-22(Steak and Eggs) I went with the SR-71. After all, it was second breakfast, I really didn’t need a steak. I went with some white toast as a side. Plus the Blackbird is such a cool plane. Schoolteacher opted for a healthy Chicken Caesar salad. We chatted and discussed the rest of our day’s plans, before we knew it, our food arrived in front of us. After the Unilocal photo, I dug in. Everything was pretty good. Not stellar, not horrible, but good. The Blackbird wasn’t too too a massive serving of food either. It was good. Certainly enough to top me off again. I’d imagine the Raptor would have been roughly the same serving size. So while not massive, but enough. Waitress did her best to check in from time to time and make sure everything was okay, and the drinks were full. After we were done eating, we walked out to the small area behind the place next to the runway and snapped some photos. All in all, the place was good. It seemed like a cool place to hang out if you were a pilot… or Richard Branson.

If you’re ever in Mohave desert(which we happened to be), this is an awesome place to have breakfast. Great service, delicious food, and a view of the runway. Had the turkey sandwich with bacon and avocado — portion was gigantic so split it with a friend. The chicken fried steak and grilled cheese looked tasty too :)

I recently took a trip up route 395 to the Eastern Sierra’s. Our first stop of the day was in Mojave at the Voyager restaurant which is located in the airport terminal under the old tower adjacent to transient airplane parking. I would all The Voyager a diner and with a great view looking out to the runway. Since it was breakfast I went with Joudi’s crash landing Which were 2 poached eggs on corn tortillas with special ranchero sauce and cheese with a side of home fries. It was like eating a somewhat deconstructed chilaquilles. Aside from the eggs there were no proteins so I had a side of bacon. Surprisingly this was a really tasty plate of goodness and a pretty big portion. As much as I liked it I was not able to finish it. We also shared an order of the biscuits and gravy The gravy had a decent flavor. It had been years since Ive had one of these. I actually like SOS or chipped beef but there are not a lot of places that serve it. The full order would have been 2 biscuits. This is a great place to stop in for those traveling up and down the 395. Eyes ~ Luv the view! Nose ~ Smells really good in here. Ear ~ I hear planes Mouth ~ Wow this is a plate of yummyness Tummy ~ So full!!!

We used to dine-in during our off-site work luncheons. They have a wonderful staff, excellent menu selection & great view of the runway. If you’re in the area it’s a great stop off durning that long desert drive.

The Voyager is a great aerospace hang out. The food is good and there’s always something interesting on the tarmac. During the lunch rush the food may take a minute or two but it’s still just as good. Remember you are also paying for the atmosphere so expect an extra dollar or two for the same amount of food elsewhere. Its worth it though.

This is one of the most mediocre places I’ve ever been. I tried it because of the Unilocal reviews, but I’m shocked it’s so well rated. The environment it pretty standard for a diner, but rather shabby and the décor is a mess. The clientele was a bit trashy and unpleasant and service was inattentive. The food was really disappointing. I got French fries and a pastrami sandwich. The meal took a surprising amount of time to be made, and when it came was not impressive. The meat was poor quality and the sandwich seemed thrown together. It didn’t even have all the advertised ingredients. Overall, this is, even for a diner, not a great place to eat. I wouldn’t recommend it. Even most chains(which I generally don’t find great) are a lot better than this. Meh.

I Usually drive through mojave but found the Voyager Restaurant on Unilocal and enjoyed the recommended cactus eggs. My family liked all of the aviation history. Food is 4-star, but location & view makes it a 5. Definitely the best place to eat in Mojave.

We came here for breakfast after staying one night in Mojave on a road trip. Beware that while this place opens early for breakfast(7am, I believe), they close quite early(3pm) and are not open for dinner. The other Unilocalers’ suggestions of not following online map directions after you get to the airport are right-on; as people have mentioned, you want to drive towards the air traffic control tower, yes, really, you won’t get in trouble. This is probably the smallest airport you have ever been to. The restaurant is downstairs from the tower. My friend and I both had the eggs with tomato and cactus; they were delicious and nicely spiced by someone who knows what they’re doing with eggs. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time, so service was quick. There weren’t any airplane things going on while we were there, but it was a cool place to visit anyway; the walls are covered with flight memorabilia. The one complaint I had was that there weren’t any postcards of the airport or the restaurant– most of them were for flight teams affiliated with the airport. This place is probably even more fun to visit when there is some crazy flight stuff happening!

I really enjoyed every visit there. Not only the server hustles, but they also have solid good food. Well, I can’t hide the fact that a major reason I love it it’s because I like to dine under the same roof of all there aviation legends, new space personnel and plane enthusiastic. I love the name of the entrees F-22, Blackbird… boo-yay I had the :“on track”. Breakfast egg scrambled with cactus

This is probably the best airport restaurant that I have ever eaten at. I ordered the pastrami and my wife got the steak sandwich, we also got the jalapeño popper, which are a personal favorite. The pastrami was excellent, and the coleslaw that came with it was top notch. The steak sandwich was also great, nice thick cut steak tossed with peppers, onions and BBQ sauce then topped with cheese. The real standout was the poppers, for sure some of the best I have ever had. The breading was like a cornmeal, and was light and crispy. We often have to travel up to mammoth to visit family, and we often stop in Mojave. Of the places we have been, this is hands down the best. On a side not, if you are trying to find the place, google doesn’t know what its talking about. Once you get close to the airfield, just head strait to the tower, its in the same building. If you follow the directions, you will end up at the far end of the hangars.

Aviation nuts flock to this diner in hopes of seeing the famous airplane designer Burt Rutan. The diner gets 3 stars, but the overall experience is always 5 stars. The food is typical diner food, and the service is down-home good. We happened to be enjoying breakfast here when we saw not only Burt Rutan – but one of his latest designs: White Knight 2. My husband was drooling and it wasn’t over his omelet. We ended up spending the better part of the day watching funky experimental planes circle around the runway. My dad got his photo snapped with the friendly Burt Rutan, and I’m sure I’ll be seeing that pic in the living room. Rutan is probably most famous for designing the Voyager, the first plane to fly around the world without stopping or refueling, and the SpaceShipOne, which won the X-Prize. If you’re an aviation nut, meeting or seeing Rutan is the kind of stuff that makes your year. My husband built and flies a Long EZ(which is an experimental plane designed by Rutan.) This café is not about the food – but still, the food is solid. We never miss a chance to stop here – you never know what the entertainment(the latest funky plane?) will be flying overhead. Tip: If you love aviation, ask the administrative offices for a tour of the facility(45 minutes and no cameras allowed.) Typically they do one tour a day at 2pm.
