L A Tan

This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, but after the experience I had, felt it was a must! I’ll try to abridge this story: I went in at the end of February and told the desk girl that I needed to tan through the end of March and I wanted the most economical way to do so. The girl said, if you pay $ 29.99, you can tan through the end of march, but you need to cancel before march 10^th to avoid being charged again. I went March 9^th to cancel and a different girl informed me that I would be charged a $ 10 early cancellation fee for cancelling before three months. I explained I was never told this and I didn’t think I should have to pay it, but decided it wasn’t worth the argument so I gave the girl the $ 10, figuring I could still tan through the end of March. Then she tells me I can only tan thru the 15^th. UGH! I stated AGAIN that I needed to tan till the end and said, «forget it, give me my $ 10 back and I’ll just cancel later so I can still tan.» She said VERY SNOTTLY (and did I mention the manager is standing overlooking this whole transaction and is doing nothing to help?) «I can’t, you already cancelled your transaction.» To sum it up, I was initially told I could tan from the end of February through the end of March for $ 29. It ended up actually costing me $ 70 to do so. The manager told me she would email the owner and get back to me to help resolve the problem. Needless to say, the owner never did resolve it. Apparently the owner is only in once a month… well, if you only are there once a month, you should have a staff that can resolve customer problems. In the end, I went to «Color me Tan» in New Lenox and was met with smiles, simple tanning packages/​options, and they were much cheaper! Apparently this business has yet to learn two very critical lessons in customer service: 1) The customer is always right. 2) If a customer has a great experience, they will tell 1 person. If they have a bad one, they will tell 100. Hopefully their lesson will be learned.
