Visiting family in area, and chose the right place to stay. I stayed in the Buckaroo room, it was very cozy, clean, and recently updated. Very comfortable, i slept well. Karla the manager is a delight, she is very welcoming. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, fruit, etc. Very yummy. And this is my first night of two I have planned. I will definitely refer. Day two, still very happy with my choice. It is raining here, but it is still nice. Breakfast was served with thick cut bacon. Yum.

I stayed at the Prairie House Inn for four weeks while visiting from out of state and working near by… What a fantastic experience! Karla was a very friendly and gracious host (and an excellent cook!) and I could not have hoped for a more pleasant stay.
I stayed in the Mark Twain room which was the smallest of the available rooms but was just enough space for me and was quite comfortable. The house is older and has a lot of character, and it was surprisingly quiet in my room. I worried about traffic noise from Main St or the noise of other guests walking around on the house’s wooden floors… neither of which was a problem.
The yard is large and well kept, and the house has an amazing wrap around porch. I spent quite a bit of time there relaxing. All in all it was an excellent experience and I would recommend that anyone looking for a place to stay in the area check out the Prairie House Inn.

OK, very impressive home/business. The rooms are very well appointed and comfy. Wonderful sitting area downstairs next to the fireplace. They just enlarged the kitchen for fully catered events. The house is not too large, so for inside functions, one is limited in the size of an event. But they have a wonderful green yard with a stage for weddings and events.
Each bedroom is themed and has its own bath. I was very impressed with the Prairie House and enjoyed my stay there. Very warm staff.

The rooms are very comfortable and uniquely decorated. It is hard to choose a favorite. Also love the fact each has it’s own full bath for privacy and convenience. Uncommon in a B&B and very appreciated. You just have to see the main parlor and common spaces to appreciate the «welcome home» feeling.
