I’m a huge Barrel House fan, not only because it’s a great company but also because I love the casual ambience and great food that’s provided with every visit. I typically order the shrimp tacos and sweet potato waffle fries, but I’ve tried about everything on the menu and there wasn’t much that I didn’t like. The staff is friendly and hard working and the food is amazing. I love it!

Awful. Just awful. Some of the rudest waitstaff in the history of recorded time. Food is great, but who cares? What’s really sad about the whole setup is this is a really nice building but whoever designed the place must have never been into a bar before. Incredibly rude people, and I can’t say I’m the least bit surprised.

Barrel House is probably on my top 5 of places to go eat in the QC. They have amazing burgers and any time I’ve picked something else(which isn’t often, those burgers are the best!) I have been happy with my meal. The portabella mushroom fries are to die for, but even sharing them as an appetizer will leave you only able to eat half your meal. I always get the sweet potato fries with my burger, but my boyfriend tried the beer fries one day and they were very good! He also said the pulled pork was excellent.

We were looking for a place to grab some dessert and a night cap and found the Barrel House. This was a Friday night and the bar area was packed with people standing around the bar and your table. People would bump into your table and you. You wondered how long before your drink got spilled or someone spilled a drink on you. Some of the folks were pretty rude. I ordered the salted caramel cheesecake. These desserts are made for two. This was a very good dessert, but it was frozen like a brick so it was not good. The presentation was very good. My wife got the strawberry & peach cobbler cheesecake. This one was also frozen. Great presentation. The desserts are very big portions and made for two. They probably should let you know that. The desserts would be great if they were not frozen and actually cheesecake. The Moscow Mule was excellent. If you want a crowded bar this is the place. If you want to grab a dessert and have a nice conversation this is not the place on a Friday night.

We normally have a great time at this bar/restaurant. However, Sarah(sp) made the end of our night unenjoyable. She was rude and acted like she was much better than her guests. We had a group of about eight people with us and she acted like we were not important whatsoever. If that’s the type of service we will receive at Barrel House, we will gladly go somewhere else.

Legitimately was greeted by someone making excuses for the waiter and didn’t get a drink for 17 minutes on an empty night at 8 pm. My waitress neglected to card me until after I was drinking, and as newly 21 and in the food industry this is a HUGENONO. SUPER unprofessional and waitress had no excuse as she didn’t greet us timely, serve us timely, make our drinks, or come off friendly and professional. I have moved away from the area and will strongly advise all of my friends and visitors to never visit this bar with horrid service. YOU’REWELCOME

Reserved for a big group Wednesday. They gave us the upstairs to ourselves. Service was excellent. Appetizers yummy. Beer drinkers extremely satisfied with the extensive selections. Thank you Barrel House for making our celebration comfortable and well fed. Tip — get the homemade fries. You’re welcome :)

Nice place to grab a bite to eat and watch NFL. Really clean place with great décor. $ 3 drafts and a wide selection to chose from. Well stocked bar, Macallan prominently featured. I had the Avocado Chicken salad and onion rings. Good food. I’ll be back.

Excellent food. Fast service. The fried pickles have a kick. Only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the beers weren’t really cold.

My fiancé and I ended up here after our first dinner option fell through on us. We arrived and there were 2 other groups in the entire restaurant; one group finishing up dinner, and one group drinking in the bar area. This was our first time at Barrelhouse, and we elected to seat ourselves after not being greeted within a couple of minutes, especially because it felt super awkward standing there, because the place was pretty empty. Once we seated ourselves, we still were not greeted by a server, so my fiancé went to the bar to retrieve menus. The bartender told him she would send a server over. Since we had never been there before, once the server graced us with her presence I asked her if we were supposed to seat ourselves and she replied rather dryly, «no.» Umm, okay, then. Anyway, she took our order for drinks and an appetizer and left us to peruse the menu for our dinner choices. She returned with our drinks and fried pickles, and took our dinner order. Something that we didn’t know when we got to the restaurant, but that was a pleasant surprise was that they seem to offer many options for dipping sauces with their fries, so when our server came back I chose to add a side of boom-boom sauce(apparently their best sauce) to our order to have with our fries. I ordered the fish and chips, while my fiancé ordered some kind of fish tacos. The fried pickles were just okay; nothing special by any means.(Public Service Announcement: If you live in the QC area and want amazing fried pickles you will need to drive to Des Moines and get the best fried pickles you will ever have at Jethro’s). Not only were they not great, but they were so greasy. So, so greasy. By the time we got towards the end of our bowl there was literally a puddle of grease at the bottom. I’m no expert, but in my experience, if you are going to put fried food directly onto a plate/bowl of some kind, you need something to absorb the grease. Seriously. Anyway our dinner came and everything looked good, except our server did not bring out the boom-boom sauce with everything else. I promptly asked for it and all was well. As soon as she dropped the sauce off the server was gone for the rest of the night. She never refilled our drinks during dinner or came back to ask how things were once we started eating. She was gone for about 25 minutes without checking on us at all, actually. Soon after we realized she was MIA I realized I did not get any tarter sauce(which is promised in the description on the menu, and quite vital as those of you who like fish n’ chips would know.) By the time I realized she wasn’t returning anytime soon I begrudgingly ate my fish so that it wouldn’t get cold, not to mention my fiancé was almost finished with his meal entirely. I ultimately decided that since the boom-boom sauce was an extra cost, I would ask for that to be waived since I never got the tarter sauce. The server finally returned after a good 30 minutes and we asked for the bill and to have the extra sauce knocked off the bill. She agreed and apologized for the mistake and oversight. She brought back the bill and did not take the sauce off and she was extremely passive aggressive and rudely left us with a snooty«sorry about the tarter sauce» comment. Umm, okay. How about you’re sorry that 1. we had to seat ourselves, 2. wait for you to come over to our table, 3. you brought us disgustingly greasy food, 4. not bringing us something we adding to our meal, 5. not bringing us something that was included in our meal, 6. being extremely rude and passive aggressive, 7. not refilling our drinks or checking on us during our entire meal, regardless of the fact that by the time our food arrived there were no other tables to take care of, and 8. saying you will remove something off of a bill and not doing it. It was quite surprising how rude a server could be when she did not take any active involvement in our dinner experience and spoke to us maybe 3 times. We will not be back. Greasy food, incompetent, lazy, and extremely rude servers. Not for us, thanks.

I had such high hopes for this place after hearing rave reviews from friends and a professor, but I was disappointed. It took me forever to decide what to order because the menu is full of those fusion-style dishes that always seem to turn me off. I don’t want Sriracha on a gringo taco, you feel? I ended up getting the fish tacos with a side salad, and someone ordered soft pretzels for everyone at the table. The pretzels were a tad greasy, but the mustard was great. The salad was nice and the fish was cooked well, but my lunch was nothing special. This place will be the restaurant I will never suggest eating at, but I’d suck it up and go if everyone else wanted to eat there.

They kicked my friend out for no reason! The bartenders don’t communicate. One bartender gave him a beer and the others didn’t for no reason they didn’t explain why. Bullshit

Just ate dinner here with my boyfriend. Service was okay… It looked like there was only one bartender(who was serving us) and she was also training someone. She was very nice and attentive! There was; however, a blonde-haired waitress by the name Sarah who seemed to have this attitude towards the bartender. Due to it being semi-crowded and her being the only bartender(who was also training), she wasn’t getting drinks out fast enough. It is just not okay to throw little hissy fits in front of customers. Eventually a manager popped in and started pouring drinks, but even she was in a sour mood. I just wanted to thank our server for the good service! My food was fine! My boyfriends wings were VERY dry, but other than that… Not a bad place to eat.

I am only here in the quad cities for 2 weeks and I’ve already eaten here twice. I have also tried the one in Davenport and I would say that this one is a tad bit better… nicer ambiance, better service, same great food. I have had the carne asada tacos and grilled chicken sandwich both yum!

I have been to Barrel House during the day for a meal. This is my favorite Barrel House. I went on a Friday night around midnight and it was far from my scene. We played a game of, ‘there is NOWAY that person is 21′. Maybe I am just getting too old. It was crazy loud but I did appreciate the throw back club music. The floor was soaking wet from spilled drinks. At one point someone ripped off their shirt and ran across the bar top. Uh… we went to Bent. I can’t give them less than 4 starts because I love Barrel House during the day. The staff is always friendly as well.

I haven’t had a thing to eat there I did not love. They have a great selection of beers on tap, including local favorites. The atmosphere is great, I have always had great service. I HIGHLY recommend this Quad Cities restaurant. It is my local favorite!

When my husband and I arrived, this place was packed solid and parking was limited. We ended up at a table in the window, and it was like sitting in a greenhouse since the place has no window coverings. We were very hot and the glare was hard to tolerate. That part did not factor into my rating, but it was a part of the overall experience. Service was extremely slow. It was hard to get the attention of our server. She was not particularly attentive… The music was really loud, which meant that the customers were basically yelling at each other in order to have conversations. I had to lean in to hear anything being said to me by my husband, who was seated directly beside me. When we finally got our food, it was pretty good. I got the firecracker shrimp tacos. They were good, but my biggest criticism was that there weren’t a lot of shrimps in the tacos. In my opinion, if a meal is «shrimp», then the shrimp should be the star of the dish. In these tacos, they were an accompaniment to the coleslaw, and the coleslaw was a lot more abundant than the shrimp. My husband had a burger, and he was very satisfied with it. Overall, it was good food, and I might return again, but first and foremost I’d hope they would turn down the music. Having a restaurant full of shouting patrons just seems to dampen the whole experience and make it harder to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. I’m not thinking I’d want to bring a group here, since even though there is space, it would be very difficult to socialize or even hear the person next to you.

Really can’t find a THING to complain about. Bar is killer. They have a «QC Ice Water» which is like a long island ice tea but everything used in it is from Mississippi Distillery. It was *mighty* tasty. I’ve had their burger baskets and their fish tacos. Both VERY good. Oh, and don’t get me started on them Sweet Potato fries! Waffle fries, to boot. Delicious. Good beer selection. Great service. This place knows what they’re doin.

The table shared the soft pretzels with beer cheese sauce and mustard sauce. I had the Oriental Chicken Salad. Others had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich w/a side of fries, and the Beef Mushroom sandwich w/a side of cole slaw. All were fine. We all really liked the mustard sauce. Good crunch on the chicken in my salad. Atmosphere was good. Restaurant w/a bar at the center. I was glad it was a Sunday evening because I’m guessing it gets pretty loud in here on a Fri/Sat evening. Handful of customers while we’ve been here, but that’s to be expected on a late, rainy Sunday evening. Wait staff was nice and was quick with drink refills. Kitchen was quick. Food was hot and tasted good. We’d return if we ever expected to be in Moline, IL again. ;-)
