It is Best Buy. I wanted to do a review because they have replaced two computers in my home using the Best Buy extended warrenty, probably saved us over $ 1,000. Not all places can be trusted to do that. After the second computer, I decided that Best Buy gets my business within reason, and they price match so I just do my research and they will give me the best price.

I normally don’t like reviewing chains. However this one deserves a warning review. On the positive side this Best Buy does have a decent selection of computers, computer accessories, tablets, cell phones and HDTV’s. So if you want to see an actual product before you buy it and/or don’t like buying online, this is the place for you. On the negative side, they tend to overcharge on a lot of thing things, especially CD and DVD spindles, HDMI cables, ethernet cord, external hard drives, and tablets. Their computer service division seems to be understaffed on the weekends and stocked with either ignorant, arrogant, or uncaring people. I’ve been here to check on desktop computers before and asked if they had optical audio connections and video cards. I was met with«I don’t know or what you talkin’ about Willis?» type looks. So I ended up pulling desktop units out so I could see what was available in the back. I’ve been there to buy a wireless router from my parents and I was told point blank that I needed to have their Geek Squad install it because only they could properly install it. When I informed him that I had bought and configured the exact same router for myself at my apt, the guy told me that I probably did it wrong. Excuse me? The last time I was there was a little over a week ago. I was looking for a Blackberry PlayBook to try because they had a special sale on and because I“d never used their OS before and wanted to try it out before buying it. They had a Blackberry PlayBook in the Android tablet demo section. However it was non-functional. When I asked if they had a functional unit to demo, they said that they were sent a non-functional unit. The guy who said this then shrugged like it was no big deal. Seriously? You put a product in the demo section that you know doesn’t work? I ended up going to the Davenport BBuy, where they also had a non-functional unit. The sales guy I talked to here at least apologized and said that the reason they didn’t was because RIM sent them a non-functional unit and didn’t send them a replacement after they requested one(Nice job RIM, this is why your business is going into the toilet). I left frustrated, but at least he explained the lack of a functional demo unit. Best Buy is struggling. Lack of customer service is a big reason why. I don’t need a ignorant, pushy, or a «hey man I just work here» salesman.
