The University Club QC

Great place. Honest and pleasant staff. I have been two at least ten receptions here and they were all fantastic. All the families raved about their experiences. I have my doubts if Jeff L has ever been here since he is from New Jersey. Some people have an agenda.

My wife and I had our wedding reception here and were very glad we did. We checked out almost all of the venues in the QC Area and found this to be the most unique by far. Many of our guests commented the same. Pricing is comparable to other venues but what made the difference to us was how helpful the owners were. You get to chose your caterer and bakery, and have to go through the club for alcohol (typical of most reception places). The staff were very helpful during the night and everything ran smoothly. We had an open bar and were very happy with all of the wine, beer, and liquor selections available. Lots of parking available for guests and really close to the Radisson Hotel in downtown Moline (3 blocks walking). Our reception ran from 4 – 12 and was full the entire time. We had about 315 people and it was a perfect fit.

Bigotry aside, this place isn’t that impressive. Besides gouging on price and trying to scam my aunt into paying for an extra keg, the service was not good. It’s pretty, but the layout is just okay. The bathroom wasn’t properly attended to, and it was just meh. Add into that the hatefulness of the bar manager, who gave my family a bad taste in their mouth BEFORE she came out as a hypocritical bigot (she WAS working on the sabbath in an outfit that looked to be of mixed fiber) and I would say stay away. All in all, not an impressive reception.
