1÷8÷16, We have liked Applebees, but tonight we seen why they get bad reviews. We went to the Monaca location. On a Friday, we expected a wait line, so we gave our name and got our alarm unit. We waited and waited. We checked back with the front desk and found out that they forgot about us at the bar. They just laughed it off and said-«we will sit you next» Yes, they laughed it off. I would expect this type of service at a fast food counter not a «restaurant». Maybe this is my mistake. They are not a restaurant…

I went to the Monaca Applebee’s earlier today. We got seated right away at a table we requested ! Our waitress was very friendly and kind, her name was Martika. Unfortunately our silverware came out dirty so we requested new ones. Then our appetizer came out burnt and had to request a new oneas well. With in five minutes the manager, Rich, came over to apologize. He took care of the situation and was sincerely apologetic. The rest of our meal was prompt, hot & delicious. The price value is excellent as well. 5 out of 5 !

Visit here every once in awhile. My friends like Applebee’s, so I go. Last night we stopped after a movie. It was not crowded. So we sat right away. Ordered a few drinks and my friend ask if there were any good specials. We were told no. Hmmmm. After looking at the menus on our table I realized there were appetizer specials. Hmmmm. Must tell our server, who obviously wasn’t aware. As we open our silverware 2 of the 5 were dirty, 1 actually had food on it. So when our drinks arrive we tell the server. We were informed that the dishwasher, the machine not the person has been broken and they are hand washing their dishes. Well, now I’m concerned especially since my drink came and my glass was dirty. When out server returned to take our order I informed her of this she took it back and I guess it was cleaned upon it being returned I noticed the sugar rim on my 7 $ drink was missing. I had enough. I’ll pass on the drink. As we sat there my friend said would you like to leave and I said no that’s OK let’s just finish it out so we did at that hour not many places to eat. So my friends enjoy their discounted appetizers and we enjoyed a burger food was OK I won’t complain about it. The manager came over to find out what was going on with our table and we informed him of our experience. On a bright note he did take my drink off the check he also bought my husband’s beer as well as discounted the burger. I appreciate the effort from the Manager but even though my friends liked it there none of us will be returning. It’s sad really. Not many places to eat close to home that i can recommend.

We usually eat at Applebee’s 3 – 4 times a month, today is the first time we have been there since they changed the menu. The portion sizes were very small, they looked like a kids meal to me. The service was slow, but on a Saturday night that’s pretty much anywhere so that wasn’t much of an issue. As the portion sizes, We aren’t huge eaters, but we finished our 2 for 25 and there was still room to eat more, which never happens. The food didn’t taste that great either. Needless to say, we will be finding another place to eat for the money we spend at Applebee’s. We enjoyed applebees while it lasted, and I’m sure many regulars will agree!

One visit at this time. Place is clean, maintained, and adequately staffed. Greeted and served quickly. Basic«Applebee» food which is to say hearty portions. Coffee was unending and routinely refreshed(which is nice). Pie desserts are excellent — one might start with a pie dessert and see how one’s appetite goes. Although most places are merely«fast food»(meaning prepared elsewhere and simply warmed and served), Applebee’s has created the notion of home cooking — lots of people appreciate this. f8 and be there.

The best thing we got was the piece of lemon fruit. The shrimp was over cooked and in my culture if you can’t enjoy food by itself it’s not worth anything. My girlfriend who is pregnant ordered a raspberry iced tea they gave her diet pop. Little known fact drinking diet pop during pregnancy is terrible for the child. Luckily she only had one sip and told the waitress to fix it. I never eat at Applebee’s for a reason and I see why now.

We had a gift card to Applebees; it’s not normally our kind of place. We came on a Saturday to sit at the bar. The bartender, Ryan, was not friendly. He wasn’t rude, either, but just not how you’d expect a bartender to act. The bar top was dirty, covered in salt, crumbs and greasy spots. As the bar emptied, he stood staring at the Duke game instead of cleaning. This is why we steer clear of Applebees unless we have a gift card.

It’s Applebee’s! You kind of know what you’re getting when you go. This location has always given me great service and good food. My favorites are the French onion soup and any of the sangrias. If you get the dinner for two specials you can really save some cash!

Coming here is hit or miss. I will say that they are always packed but the service is always iffy. I haven’t had any issues with the food and they have decent drink specials. My friend gets car side to go a lot and likes the convenience of the service.

Had the WORST service in my life here on March 11th. Our waitress was beyond awful. Salads came after our meal? Seems like all the other waiters were good but ours was just dreadful. Food was good but service was so awful it was tough to enjoy our meals.

I’ve eaten here a lot, every time with an empty stomach, and every time hoping and praying that my meal will be better than last time. It never is. The menu is very appetizing(speaking of appetizers, the boneless wings are great), but the entrees themselves are tasteless. Aside from the appetizers, the menu is pretty much devoid of flavor. I have 0 complaints about the service, we never wait to get drinks, orders taken, refills, food, anything. They’re friendly and punctual. Applebee’s bills itself as the neighborhood bar and grill, but I’d expect a few more events at my neighborhood bar. Maybe I’m just not visiting at the right times… I like the atmosphere, the music is good, there are plenty of TV’s for Steelers/Pirates/Pens games, and there are posters, t-shirts, and other memorabilia from every college and a few high schools in the area. That’s a nice touch, but it doesn’t make the food any more tasty.

I ordered a meal from their lite portion menu. I believe they are trying to compete with Chili’s under 600 calorie selection. I ordered a steak and vegetable. I guess I should have expected it — I am not sure why I believe Applebee’s is the Ponderosa /Sizzler of the Steak Chains. The service was great while my meal was bland. I think I would have been better off to do a 3rd day in a row at Subway. Food — Bland — not really worth it with so many selections Service — Great — My waitress was really friendly and I would go back because they were a lot of fun Price — $ 10 Overalll — I will probably go somewhere else and try to recruit my waitress :-)

I’m still stuck with those Christmas gift cards Dad bought me, which means I am also stuck in a chain restaurant rut, which means I’ve been forced to make poor dining decisions of late. Bob Evans closes at 9pm. So, to Applebee’s it was since we were both starving and were beginning to turn into werewolves(full moon last night!). I didn’t have a gift card for Applebee’s. Ugh. Hey, we were boxed in here, y’know? We decided to partake in that 2 For $ 20 deal they advertise, but our waitress(and a good one she is) Nicole G. told us about the Clam Chowder, so we each got that first. Meh. The clams were rubbery, the broth was too thick, and the whole affair tasted suspiciously canned as the laughter you hear during any CBS sitcom these days. But we were hunnngrayyy… If you watch the annoying commercials, you know the deal; 1 App, 2 entrees, 20 bucks. We got the obligatory, cheesy Spinach & Artichoke dip, and it isn’t cheesy in a good way or even a keytar way. The artichoke tasted like broccoli. Someone must think we’re dumb. Ugh, this had to have been reheated. The accompanying chips and salsa were decent, however. For some reason this was better at the one in Beaver Falls. For the entrée, I chose the Provolone Stuffed Meatballs with Fettuccine since it looked and sounded intriguing. Yet, it tasted like watching Lawrence Welk reruns; bland. There was this big hollowed out portion of each meatball that only told me that some machine is making the meatballs, injecting them with(I can only hope) provolone, and then sticking them in a cryogenic chamber until service. This is why tech frightens me a smidgeon. What’s next, android chefs that don’t need to eat, sleep, make bowel movements, or pay rent? I bet if I had dropped one of the meatballs on the floor, it would have bounced! The pasta? Passable. I loved the strawberry lemonade(even though it tasted a bit like Kool-Aid) and Kay’s chocolate mousse shooter. As I alluded to earlier, the service was fine as well. But I dunno man, if «there’s no place like the neighborhood» then that neighborhood is goin’ down the commode. Hell, there’s already guys sitting the street corners with bottles of booze in their hands. People are movin’ out. *gasp* I gotta use up these gift cards. I still have 3 left. They are the albatross around my wallet. P. S. I had an Applebee’s experience that was twice as good at the one in Beaver Falls.
