This time last year I wasn’t a huge fan of Mexican food, however, I now go to el toreno a few times a month, it’s definitely my favorite local Mexican food! Always happy with the food and service.

Quick service and food was excellent. We got the speedy Gonzalez lunch special. It comes with rice or beans and we asked for a little of both with no problem. The salsa bar was fun and they have good white sauce! Waiter was very attentive.

Harrisonburg, VA
Not a great place to eat but not terrible. In their defense, the Thurs before the Fourth of July and almost every other restaurant in the area had an hour or more wait. So they were busy. Food was acceptable standard Mexican fare but far from delicious. Took forever to be served but the salsa and chips were constantly refilled. We weren’t asked if we needed anything after the food arrived. The soda carbonation mix was off. The guacamole salad came without guacamole and when asked for guac, they said they were out. The Pescado La Plancha was very good. The rice and beans were okay and the other dishes were just ok too. I do not plan on returning.
