I loved our visit here. Living in the big city you forget that the rest of the world does not always live like you do. Thank you for the fun visit back to what old movie theaters look like. Though I am not sure how many theaters are close to this small town, having one at all is major props because I still got to my movie grove on and I didn’t care that it was not in a new updated mega blockbuster theatre.

We absolutely love this little theater. Second only to Starplex theaters in Springfield. Viewing rooms are rarely too full keeping the atmoshpere kind of homey. I like that you purchase tickets and consessions all in the same place. We love that you can butter your own popcorn and then add flavors to it as well. My daughter and I normally don’t eat a bucket of popcorn(kinda making me feel like I’m wasting my money) but we do when we go to Monett because it is just so yummy! I would highly recommend this theater. Concessions are still a little high($ 20.00 for two large drinks and a large popcorn) but that is the only downside.

Decent movie theatre, especially for the area. I personally prefer to drive further and see films in larger theatres but for the average movie goer it would be fine. However, as of the last time I went(a few years ago) their surround sound system was abysmal. I even complained to the manager asking if the surround sound speakers were even on! It sounds anemic compared to other, superior movie theatres. Not only is the surround lacking but the overall volume is as well. Not bad if you’re taking the kids to see a forgettable kids movie but if you’re a serious film goer — and especially if you’re watching a blockbuster — you should drive to Springfield and see it at a theatre there.
