They work hard to offer good value. Unfortunately like most Sullivan County restaurants, the quality is not that high. Keep it simple and its okay, not a bad place to grab a burger and fries. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere outside is great when the weather cooperates. The customers at the bar are very nice.

Up in Monticello NY area for a job and had a couple hours to kill. I dropped in to the Riveredge, one of the nicest restaurants in the area. The interior is inviting and quite new. It’s very comfortable and spacious. A very large bar area and separate dining room is well laid out. I arrived around 6PM on Friday, perfect timing for a quiet drink & apps. I was immediately welcomed by their cheerful and attentive bartender. I was looking for a couple appetizers, so a breezed through to them and ordered steamed clams & jalapeño poppers. «No Poppers today», okay let’s have the Buffalo Wings. In short order my dishes came out in proper order and were delicious. I’ll still keep the jury out until I return for a full entrée, though. I must say I like this place, there’s a nice atmosphere, the wait staff is cordial & attentive and they are helping each other, nice to see a real team at work. The are a couple music nights, Friday is one of them. Light Rock with some Grateful Dead(what else, you’re a stones throw from Bethel Woods) in the dining room didn’t interfere with conversations and added to an already great atmosphere. Try the Riveredge, it’s a warm, cheerful & relaxing restaurant with a great wait staff !

Enjoy a drink by the river. Great menu, fantastic bar and relaxed. If you haven’t discovered this place yet, you need to!

The entrees were great. I had the butternut squash ravoli and my husband had the fish. The service was not attentive and slow. Skip the nachos they tasted like cheese wiz.

Run, don’t walk, away from this place. Saturday night dinner, before Ringo Starr concert. The only passable(and edible) item was steamed clams. Prime rib — thin, overcooked, bears strong resemblance to a shoe sole. T-bone steak — rancid. Stuffed chicken breast — freezer burn, impossible to chew. Tilapia — rancid. Side veggies — mushy. Mashed potatoes — blah, but passable. Salads — passable. Truly, the worst dinner out of many eaten in a long, long time. Redeeming points: nice patio, friendly waitress.

Relaxed environment, kid friendly, great bar, varied menu, reasonable prices. Eat there quite often and highly recommend.

It’s been a while since I went, but I attended a little end-of-season get together here once. I got some mozzarella sticks and we had some drinks and sat around the bar and talked. I need to make time to go back, because I did enjoy it. Also, my boyfriend discovered what is now his favorite beer there, Spaten. Good luck finding it in other bars in the area, they usually don’t have it.

Very slow service. Waitress litetally took care of one, table at a time, she took our order but served another table appetizers, salad and entrée before we saw our first course. Funny part, only two parties there… me and the other table.

For the off season, the place was still rather cute, and both the rolls and steaks were excellent. The dessert menu was rather limited and the cheesecake still a little too cold(icy like) in the middle, but the meal itself gets an A. The service was also friendly and attentive; glasses were never left empty. All in all a good place to grab a local meal.
