This is a dimly lit old school steak house. Sure maybe they could use some updates to the décor, but their service is excellent and their food is delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and they make you feel like family. From the spinach salad with tangy bacon dressing to the huge expertly prepared bone-​in ribeye, they know what they’re about and they do it well.

Me… food=love. My husband… complete opposite.
Until tonight at Cerar’s Barnstormers.
I have never seen him enjoy a meal as much as he enjoyed the shrimp, crab cakes, and red snapper tonight.
Now mine was delicious as well. I had steak and asparagus — to be honest — I ordered it just in case he ended up not liking the snapper.
Five paragraphs in, and I cannot leave out the best part of our meal. It was, hands down, Sherry, our server.
I wish we all could find the level of joy in the work we do. She brought a touch of charm to our table and lifted our dreary spirits.
We went out to dinner tonight not expecting to be so enthralled. My husband was speechless at the table, and it reminded me of those old timey commercials… «He never asks for a second cup of MY coffee.»

THE place to eat a steak in the area! It’s a classier steakhouse and a great place to eat for a nice dinner during the week or on the weekends! Highly recommend!

In town for family reasons, haven’t been to Monmouth since the 70s. Wanted a good restaurant. We were not disappointed. I have eaten steak at all the fancy places (Morton’s etc) and this one holds strong against then! Mid-​westerners know their meat, I guess. High quality beef, delicious twice-​baked potatoes, good asparagus. Mediocre wine list. Slooowwww service (coming out of the kitchen, not the wait staff). Don’t be in a hurry. Would recommend.

Absolutely fantastic! The best steak I have EVER HAD, hands down! The atmosphere is so chill and relaxing; the staff is wonderful and will make you feel like family! All in all it was a great experience, although it was rather expensive. It was totally worth it!

This is THE place for a steak. Have eaten here many times and have always had a great meal. The staff is very friendly. The décor is aviation related and very cool. I always like to walk around before or after dinner and check out all the neat pictures/​memorabilia. The fillet and twice baked potato never disappoint!

Great food and service is what you’ll find at this traditional steak house. I usually go with intentions of ordering different items but always find myself ordering one of their excellent cuts of beef. If you like steak you can’t go wrong with the roasted filet or if you’re a fan of bleu cheese, the bleu hanger steak is excellent.
For an appetizer, the artichoke dip is a winner. No comment for desserts, we are always too full.

We’ve eaten here a handful of times over the last few years as it’s a good meeting point for family. Service has always been good, the entrees are good and the atmosphere is cozy.
They are primarily a steakhouse and serve prime rib on the weekends, but if you are looking for seafood or chicken, there are options there as well.
This last time, our waiter pointed out to each of us individually that gratuity had been added to our bills, which I appreciated since I may not have noticed it otherwise.

Excellent steaks and prime rib. Good with seafood as well. Very elegant setting. Long time charismatic owner makes frequent appearances. Big city dining in a small town.
