We live in California and my husband’s sister was graduating from western Oregon university. This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we’ve consistently had a good experience with this inn. It’s nice because there is a Dutch brothers up the street as well as a nice diner right next to this inn. Our room was very clean, bathroom was nice, bed was pretty comfortable, and had A/C and heater unit that worked well. Cable TV, microwave, mini fridge. The staff was friendly and great with check in and check out. My husband and I recommend this inn especially if it’s only for a few days. There is no continental breakfast, but that’s okay. There is a diner right next door, and burgerville up the street. Monmouth is a cute little college town with a great feel. Please check out courtesy inn, it’s a nice place. Clean, comfortable and courteous. ;-)

Very friendly staff that checked us in. Room was pretty big but smelled old and musty. Had a flat screen TV and cable, fridge and microwave. Shower had great water pressure too bad the shower head was only about 5′ high. I had to bend down to get my face wet. The bed was a little hard but I was kind of expecting that from this type of place but wasn’t expecting the horrible urine smell that was coming from the comforter. It was immediately balled up and thrown to the ground. Layed in bed ½ the night listening to all of the extremely loud traffic driving by. Wasn’t a good night. Next time I may drive the extra ½ hour to stay at a nicer place in Salem.

Very strange digs. This is the only place in town, so we didn’t have a choice. First night of our stay, me and my traveling companions each heard someone try the handle to our doors. When I returned to my room the second night, someone had hung the ‘do not disturb’ sign on my door while I was gone. Not a big deal, but my room didn’t get cleaned because of it. The water temperature is schizophrenic and two of us got scald burns from it. The temperature was perfectly fine, then instantaneously turned to boiling hot in less than a second. I had red marks on my back several hours after my shower from it. Certainly not safe for children.

Its the only Hotel in town so we have to stay there when we visit. I think it’s over priced for the conditions and how out dated it is. I received an active duty military discount and it still cost about 80 dollars a night. But since its the only hotel in a pretty big radius they can charge what they want. Anyway outdated things wasn’t the cleanest, The man and wife who were running the front desk had their Kids with them all weekend so every time I stopped by the office to get keys programmed again, towels, a plug for the bath tub for my Twins to be able to bathe, trash bags, TP(yes that many trips because it seems the room wasn’t stocked) I had to wait for them to finish caring for the infant and toddler kid. I’m a parent myself so I completely understand but not at a place of business and front desk. The good was its a small town so everything is really close. The only place to really sit down and eat is a diner that shares the same parking lot. All and all it’s what you would expect from a small town hotel, but the price is just to damn high.

I was SUPER impressed by quite a few aspects of dealing with Courtesy Inn. Granted, our 3 day, 1000 mile trip had been a somewhat rough one, punctuated by a few stays at the dog-friendly Motel 6 chain, so my expectations were, um, ‘lowered’… but Monmouth and dealing with the management at the Courtesy Inn made us feel like we could truly ‘settle in and rest’. We checked in rather late(like, after bar closing late!) and the manager was very kind to us, despite the hour. She booked us the two rooms for two nights(smoking and non-smoking) and those rooms were spacious, next door to each other(convenient!) and nice and quiet. The smoking room had a portable air purifier, which was REALLY great to have. Not your typical stinky motel room, to be sure! The morning we checked out, I had a nice conversation with the co-manager(the first one’s husband) and he was SO helpful with information about the town, the whole Pac NW ‘vibe’, and I could see he puts his heart into making the visitor’s stay a happy one. I loved that there’s a Dutch Bros. across the street, too! Great coffee. :) Next time we go through Monmouth, I would book with absolutely NO hesitation. Helps that they’re the only game in town, but like I said, the rooms were great, clean, huge, and management can’t be beat. If there’s ONE complaint that would drop the rating a tad, it’s the price. Killed our budget, but what we saved with the Motel 6s, we kinda made up for it… It also helped that the pitchers down the street were only $ 6.50 that night. LOL

This is a pet friendly hotel that allows dogs and cats. My wife recently stayed there and was woken in the middle of nights by dozens of fleas crawling all over her. The bed and bedding was totally infested. The management moved her to an adjacent room and told her they would contact her to make an adjustment in the bill. They never called. Disgusting!
