The house is beautiful. Quaint ambiance. We stayed in The Starry Night room with great character. Bathroom had claw foot tub-might be a challenge for some. Breakfast was beignets, sausage, eggs, grits, and spiced apples Yum! Terry is sweet and helpful. She is very much a part of the community and can answer your questions. Very reasonable price, too!

My reservation was made by the university for an interview. The home is wonderfully decorated with Victorian furniture. My room had a large bathroom with claw footed tub. My bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. Teri put coffee on early in the morning and I helped myself to coffee and cream in the refrigerator — you immediately feel comfortable here like your home away from home. Breakfast was excellent. Conveniently located to university.

This place is like magic! I took my boyfriend here on a Living Social deal as a surprise getaway weekend booked full of wine and brew pub tastings. We had never been to Monmouth or surrounding areas and it’s so beautiful! But that aside, MaMere’s is indescribable. It’s homey and sweet and decorated so beautifully you are always finding something new to look at. We stayed on the top floor in the Louisiana Lair and it was lovely to have some privacy and our bathroom and the space was just great. Terri was wonderful and while we didn’t have a professional chef cooking for us, she did a great job! I would love to come back here again should the occasion call for it and would recommend it to anyone! You walk in and you’re immediately relaxed and we could all use some of that, couldn’t we? :)

I decided to have my 30th Birthday Bash here and invited some close friends. I loved every moment of it! Kary(the chef) cooked us a wonderful breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday. Everything was fresh and local. My friends could not stop raving about the delicious food. This place is definitely fantastic for a girls weekend or intimate group party. And if you do decide to throw a gathering here, I would highly recommend hiring Kary to do the cooking for you. She is also great with gluten allergies /special diets!

I wholeheartedly agree with reviewer Grant K. This place is as homey and welcoming as it gets. I so enjoyed the friendliness, warmth and Southern hospitality of Terri, the owner. We stayed on the top floor in the Louisiana Lair and it could not have been any cozier, I think that I slept the hardest that I have in a long time. Our trip to Monmouth was very short and sweet so we didn’t have as much time to tool around as we might’ve liked, but we managed to go to a few wineries on the way in and visit the nearby wine bar– Crush– which was also lovely. I don’t think that enough can be said about the homemade breakfast that is prepared in the morning by the professional chef on staff… wow is it fantastic! The highlight was the Grand Marnier french toast that I will daydream about from now on… Thank you MaMere’s for a unique, relaxing and fantastic experience.

I love, love, love MaMere’s. Very few places welcome you without anyone needing to say a word, where you walk in and you almost feel like you’re coming home. You get the warm personal welcome as well, but this is a house that seems to love having visitors. The place is gorgeous, the breakfasts fabulous, the pampering layered and the hosts like family. Monmouth encapsulates both the peaceful and the fun college town, without overdoing either, and has a lot of local flavor too. Independence is just down the road, should you want more selections. There are several decent restaurants in the area, which is a nice bonus. Across the street is a large public park where events seem to happen regularly(I’ve twice seen bands playing in the gazebo), or where you can relax and/or play. You’re amidst Oregon wine country and all that that entails and the US’s 2nd largest living Christmas tree is a short walk away. I don’t usually care about such things, but I love big trees and I hate dead Christmas trees, so I like that. I can never get my butt in gear, but I believe they have a couple of bicycles you can use and the popular HWY99 West bike touring route is nearby. Last time I was there, our group had a fun visit to Wild Carrot Herbals, a thriving small business with a super-cool setup amidst an organic farm, where they grow most of the ingredients they need to make creams, balms, oils, soaps, bath bombs, etc, and my wife loves their products too. We try and book Starry Night when we want to be pampered, but my favorite room is the Louisiana Lair, the room in the roof, above it all, a great place to write or hide out. It has a lovely bathroom where you can relax in the bath and look out of the skylight window at the stars above. A fridge and microwave enable the hermit in me. Romance and relaxation both thrive at MaMere’s. There are several places downstairs to hang out. I always go there intending to do more, but then I settle in to that comfortable spot, like a dog on a favorite old couch, and I just relax, despite myself. Damn, we need to get back there soon. I totally need it, and I miss those ladies.

Ma Meres Bed and Breakfast brings a little taste of New Orleans to the small town of Monmouth! Each room has it’s own theme and the attention to detail in each room as well as the house is phenomenal! The staff at Ma Mere’s is wonderful and is so helpful– they really want to make your staff as comfortable as possible. They also have some of the best food I have ever tasted! It’s nice to get a home cooked meal while traveling instead of eating out. I would recommend Ma Meres to anybody looking for a nice quiet place to stay with a home feel.

A really charming B&B with a family atmosphere and New Orleans character. I would recommend Ma Mere’s to anyone passing through the area, or as a destination in itself. Friendly people, great atmosphere, great food, what more could you want?

A slice of New Orleans in the heart of Willamette Valley wine country! Charming Victorian B&B with massive character and the best breakfast in town. Each room is uniquely decorated to reflect a bit of New Orleans and the French Quarter. Southern hospitality is abundant as the hostess is gracious and accommodating to her guests’ needs. You don’t feel like you are staying at a B&B, but rather welcomed into someone’s home. Just blocks from Western Oregon University and walking distance to downtown Monmouth, it is centrally located for those who want to explore the town. If you are looking for a retreat, this place is a great change of scene.
