Nice spacious pub with good variety on the menu. Many t. v’s to watch sports. Very good service. Glad this town has something like this now. A salad bar is also available.

The first time I ate at Petey’s, I was relatively impressed. However, the second time we visited, I was very disappointed. I ordered the«special» prime rib sandwich, which was WAY overpriced for the skimpy amount of beef that was actually on the sandwich. I should have just ordered the french dip from the menu at about half the price. While, the mozzarella sticks were very good(wrapped in wontons), I don’t think I’ll be returning.

We came for the Sunday buffet on Mother’s Day. The service was great, especially for it being such a busy day. The buffet was well stocked, hot, and reasonably priced. I don’t think I’ve been to a buffet that kept its food as hot as Petey’s did. I will definitely be back to this establishment!

Quite the little gem tucked away in sleepy Monmouth! It’s your typical sports bar with too many TVs to count and the background noise that goes along with that but you won’t miss a second of any game, that’s for sure! I couldn’t get over how much food you get for the price though, not used to that in P-town :) Tenderloins are gigantic, a half is plenty along with these crazy good fries that have a spiced breading on the them that is addicting! Good thing for my tongue they were a heaping pile on my plate, bad thing for my pants… I took half my tenderloin home so I could finish those fries so I basically got 2 meals for $ 9. Our server was a young girl who hustled around pretty good and was quick with the check and to-go boxes(she’s probably used to that!). Kind of sad this place is so far from me but since I need my clothes to continue fitting, it’s probably for the best!

Ignore the commented that want to slam this place without showing their face on Unilocal! Its been two years since I first reviewed this place, and it has remained a consistent performer. I have to confess that half the reason I go is for the Spinach Bisque, which is always prepared so consistently well. I have a fondness for the Southwest Chicken Salad as well, but I have brought many family members here and they love the fried chicken and the all you can eat bar when it is open. Overall a consistent performer with some signature items I am willing to make the 30 min trip for.

I just waited 40 minutes for an order at this place… it wasn’t busy. Food is average bar fare. Lots if TV’s and drink specials. Inconsistent service, I think the kitchen is the problem

Wide selection of food. Good value and the food is above average. Servers were friendly. Plenty of tv’s to catch a sports event.

We went to Petey’s on a Sunday for a casual lunch. The salad bar and buffet were disappointing. The salad bar had very few add-on options, and the buffet was mediocre at best. The regular menu is basic pub fare. I was surprised that they charged $ 2 extra for the buffet just because it happened to be father’s day — without adding more/special food options. Petey’s might be a good place to watch a game and eat pub fare. Otherwise, I’d take a pass.

They added $ 2 per person just because it was Father’s Day… Same menu, same mediocre food and noisy big open dining room. There was nothing interesting or memorable about the food or restaurant.

Maybe it appeals more to small town/hometown folks. The drinks were super weak(I had an appletini and could taste only the sour pucker mix). I didn’t try the food, the ambiance wasn’t really all that great. If I find myself in Monmouth again(which is most likely the case), I’ll drive out to Galesburg and give BWW my business.

A locally owned sports bar, done very professionally, by the owner of Barnstormer, enough said. The menu has a wide variety of apps, sandwiches, and entrees. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich. Way bigger than the bun, had to bend it in half to eat, awesome. Had the spinach bisque, creamy and tasty. A must stop in Monmouth, IL, you won’t be sorry. BC

Casual cousin to Cerar’s Barnstormer(both owned & operated by Kevin Cerar). The food selection is your typical sports bar food: wings, burgers, nachos, etc. Great place to have a few beers and catch whatever major sporting event is displayed on the numerous flatscreen TVs. Family friendly during typical dining hours.
