Shhh… let’s keep this place on the down low; as it has been for years Down a super quiet paved road, take a dirt path around a locked barricade gate, continue down a deteriorated roadway and wall-a… jump off bridge(sometimes referred to as jumping bridge or the abandoned bridge). The bridge is located along Old State Road 4A just before Loop Road. The entire area is closed to vehicular traffic but is frequented by locals enjoying the area for bike rides and bird watching nature lovers; but it’s the younger generation that uses it for the adrenaline filled activity of jumping off the bridge into the 15 – 20 deep narrow channel. Visitors here on a typical hot day will be welcomed by others kicking back beers, playing tunes and jumping off the bridge. Once enough beers are downed the younger guys, they tend to challenge each other to stupidity challenges like belly flops to show off to the sunbathing girls. Keep in mind, there is no crowds here; in the hottest months you’d be lucky to catch 10 — 15 people but everyone has always been overly welcoming. The bridge has a concrete barrier along the sides of the bridge but someone or some group have cut out a section of the concrete barrier every time the county or state repair it. There is also«no jumping from bridge» signs posted; obviously no one pays them any mind considering there is jurisdiction regulating or enforcing any rules here. You want to do what the locals do, then come take the plunge(just be sure to ignore all those«no jumping from bridge» signs)
