Do you have an undying devotion to all things chocolate?! Then look no further than Bayou Chocolate, located in the Northgate Shopping Center off Forsythe & North 18th St. Your chocolate dreams will become reality once you step inside. Customer service is always friendly with a smile and the staff answer any questions you might have about their various treats. Now the toughest part of shopping here is deciding which goodies to take home: candied apples, homemade fudge, chocolate-covered strawberries, truffles galore, chocolate covered Oreos/marshmallows/rice krispy treats/twinkies/pretzels, and even a handful of flavors of ice cream! My favorites are the chocolate covered Oreos and the rocky road homemade fudge. You can’t go wrong with any of your chocolate selections here because it will always be a win-win. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like here because everything is decadently & chocolatey delicious. Support this local chocolate shop and you’ll be in for a real, sweet treat any time of day or season. Chocolate certainly makes the world go round and is guaranteed to turn any frowns upside down! Keep calm and CHOCOLATEON!

I finally tried Bayou Chocolate and I must say it is worth the stop. When I walked in it smelled so heavenly and it took me a while to decide on what I wanted, because everything looked so good. I opted for the Chocolate Covered Strawberries and The Pecan Swamped Apple. The chocolate covered strawberry was dipped in Milk Chocolate and had a White Chocolate drizzle on it. I must say it was delicious and I devoured it in a second. The strawberry was big and juicy and you could tell it was freshly made. I highly recommend you trying one. Then I could not pass on the Candied Apple. I really liked that they cut the apple for me. It was dipped in caramel, then chocolate, and lastly dipped in chopped pecans. The apple was so big I even shared it and still have some leftover. The only thing I did not like was the prices. For one strawberry it was $ 3 and the apple was $ 9, but that is around the average price you will pay at any candy store and it was good quality products. I can’t wait to try some more things on my next visit. I saw were they had ice cream, truffles, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more.
