Want to step back in time to about thirty years ago? Perhaps not, but just by looking at the outside of the store, It seems to be inevitable. In any case, Big Lots sits in this dying remnant of a plaza that was once popular back then but has since failed to keep up with the clock and has become more or less abandoned. If you don’t notice it don’t be ashamed, the entire plaza is hidden behind the two banks, just look for the yellow«Westmar Plaza» sign and you should be just fine. Don’t be surprised if the parking lot is empty, it’s a typical site. Big Lots isn’t in the best state just judging by the outside. The old lettering doesn’t seem to light up very good and the exterior paint is peeling off. You can only enter and exit on the left side, an odd design but alright. You enter and automatically face the small amount of checkout lines, around three to be exact, all of which look to be in horrible condition. The floor’s are filthy and a lot of the inventory on the shelves is either to crowded or completely barren. They have a small frozen area in the front of the store but it’s near limited to about one row of frozen foods of average quality. Similarly, a lot of the electronics, toys, and furniture they sell are often made by obscure companies so buy with caution, just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean that the quality is good. The prices though are what keep this place a solid business. The actual«good» quality merchandise that they do sell is marked at low prices so shopping for food here is a good option if your close by. I haven’t had much contact with the staff here but the cashier was a nice lady who looked like she was enjoying her job but some of the other members in the back walked around in a daze, almost looking confused on what to do, probably due to the low amount of customers Big Lots gets. A bit sad to see that this discount store is slowly withering away without anyone even acknowledging it’s existence anymore, it certainly deserves a lot more then what people are giving it. As Big Lots will most likely not be around in the next ten years, stop by and give it a try, if you can even find where it’s hiding.

I like this location b/c it’s not too busy. It’s located in a run-down, almost abandoned strip mall. Not much left so this store is often forgotten. Anyway, it also has a cheap deal, but sometime you have to hunt for it. Staff varies… Some have teeth, some don’t. Eek!
