Sold a home in July 2015. Title Company holds deposit of 300 dollars. They need a final water bill that shows you don’t owe the water company any fees. Moved out of state, so I did everything I was instructed to do to settle this. Paid bill before leaving state. As of today’s date is October 12, have not gotten my money back. Called water company back in September, they said they sent the final paperwork. Told them I did not receive it. They said call title company and have them talk with us directly. Did that over a month ago. No money. Funny how big business gets the money you owe them. But don’t work like that for us. So I call back today and they have no recollection or record of this. So still waiting. Paid out 2,600 to first American Title Company in Texas for my new house.
They get their money two months before closing, but the same company makes me beg for my 300 dollar water deposit. This is a big company. Did not have a choice that I am aware of. But in the future will not give this company another dime. You would think this is all they do is sell titles, get paid outrageous money to push some paperwork. And they act like this is the first time they had to deal with this situation.
