Huge portions! Reasonably priced… young staff… seems like every time we stop in its some PYT’s training day. Love the bday cake ice cream. turtle Sunday… I have observed the teenage staff trash talking a customer after they left because the didn’t like the coffee flavored ice cream. Unprofessional but expected from a bunch of teenagers

The«BEST» hard ice cream of all time. 1 scoop here is like 3 scoops anywhere else. They are NOT stingy. Love their butter pecan, peanut butter mackinaw island fudge, cookies & cream & birthday cake! My «ALLTIMEFAVORITE» is their red velvet, which is their new 2014 flavor. That stuff is «PHENOMENAL» & oh sooo addictive!!! :-)

It was 19 degrees outside, and I was craving some ice cream on my drive home. A little strange, but Independent Dairy is one of the rarest ice cream shops to be open throughout the winter. The building is old and dumpy on the outside, with a crumbling parking lot. But, it’s very clean and maintained on the inside. They have a smaller grocery section off to the side too, which is great if you want to just pick something up while you’re getting ice cream. They have a ton of options, and it’s very affordable. I ordered a large limited-time-only pumpkin pie soft serve in a cup(to eat easier while driving), and it only cost $ 1.85 for a huge pile of ice cream.

Part ice cream parlor, part convenience store. They have about 32 flavors to scoop. You can get ice cream flavors like Payday, which is vanilla ice cream with roasted peanuts and salted caramel ribbons, or Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake, with chocolate chips and raspberry swirls and cheesecake cubes, or Cappuchino Chip, or Bear Claws, or even regular Vanilla. They have five options for sugar free and sherbet, too. A single dish costs $ 2.64 and has two generous scoops. You can also get malts, sundaes, banana splits, cones, and on the convenience side they have ice cream bricks in the freezer, plus lots of Smucker’s fixins. The convenience side has beer and canned sardines and pretzels, so if your cravings are a little strange, you can get something to go with that ice cream that will hit the spot!
