What a great relaxing Saturday morning breakfast! Didn’t want to go to a chain restaurant, and Lea’s definitely has a hometown feel. Loved the hash browns-they were cooked with green onion and covered with cheese. Pancake looked like it came out of grandmas’ kitchen-thick and rich!

Was looking for a good spot that serves breakfast all day, and I’m glad I found Lea’s. Everything was tasty and the service was good. Not a huge selection to choose from, but everything I had was deelish.

Lea’s is your friendly, quaint neighborhood diner serving up Southern comfort food just like from grandma’s kitchen. They open at 7am daily for all you early risers. This is a popular breakfast/brunch option among the locals here in town. Lunch is available daily, along with specials of the day. Start off your day with a freshly brewed cup of Mello Joy coffee. My regular breakfast choice is «The Lagniappe,» which includes 2 eggs, pancake, your choice of bacon/ham/sausage, and grits or hashbrowns(~$ 10). Pancake add-ons include banana, pecans, or chocolate chips($ 1.25). The meal is very filling and I usually end up bringing home the pancake. Another choice is to indulge in the stuffed biscuit– a fluffy biscuit stuffed with egg, cheese, and sausage, ham or bacon, swimming in a decadent pool of rich & creamy sausage gravy(which can be requested on the side). And onto dessert– I almost always have to get a slice of one of their many delicious pies to go. You must get the banana caramel pie!(There’s a reason they sell out of these as soon as they make them). Service is warm and welcoming, with a touch of Southern charm. Lea’s is one of my fave breakfast spots in town. Support local– it’s the only way to go!

Cool retro café near downtown Monroe. Pretty full even on a Friday mid morning so the food took a good while to come out and wasn’t real hot when it hit the table but it sure did taste good. Stuffed biscuit wasn’t quite as hearty as the picture made it out to be but I was full enough when I finished. Got a slice of pie just for the heck of it, pecan, it was real good. Would definitely do again next visit to mlu.

The biscuits were delicious… Though I’m not sure what all the fuss is about on the stuffed biscuit as the cheese they use is nothing more than American processed cheese. That was a disappointment. The hash browns were good, eggs and grits and bacon crispy. The service lacked a lot to be desired. The staff seem to be unhappy with us for some reason. I don’t know if they disliked the fact that when we walked in our lil guy was having a bad morning, or that we were outsiders, or that they didn’t want to be bothered since our ordering did not go as smoothly as it normally would. We ordered the stuffed biscuit to split since after seeing others plates figured it would be large enough for two. Once delivered to the table we discovered that it was only sufficient for one and needed to order additional food. We ordered eggs w hash browns. The server couldn’t have been more abrupt when we ordered the additional food. I also had to get up and get ketchup from another table on my own, as well as find the Tabasco. The experience after all the reviews was quite disappointing. Part of me would like to return in order to try their delicious looking pies. The other part of me says no… I don’t know if I would ever return. The only reason they got a 3 star review from me is because the breakfast items we ate(other than the processed cheese) was pretty good for breakfast food.

We were there for breakfast, on our way back to Texas. We shared the stuffed biscuit with sausage bacon and ham. It was a $ 16 breakfast that was good, just wish it had been great. Felt that the up charge on the 3 meat was a bit much.

The caramel banana pie was five stars. Great service. The stuffed biscuit was delicious but heavy. The full breakfast was great except for slightly too crispy bacon.

Every time I come home I have to get breakfast or a plate lunch here and visit with good friends over smooth coffee. And if I’m feeling decadent, of course I get a piece of either chocolate or coconut pie.

The pies at this place are really something special– sadly, my lunch was not. This place is adorable and renowned for their pies. Its a local restaurant that bills itself as serving southern cooking. The good: PIE! got lemon ice box, pecan and lemon merangue to bring home. YUM. The less good: 1. the gumbo– the roux is homemade(love the idea) it has too much flour and is not done(less good). did not finish. Was a chicken and sausage. awful– it was awful. but I reasoned– maybe that is what gumbo is supposed to taste like in north la? got a grilled chicken salad — chickn– good– seasoned and yum– only downside was it was a little fatty. the lettuce was iceberg– ick and the tomatoes not fresh– that is disappointing– or maybe I am spoiled– by all of the fresh tomatoes grown here, sold here, and peddled at the side of the road. the whole thing just made me sad. The redemption came from my server– very sweet, and the pie– made fresh. Maybe next time I will just try the special– today was catfish creole or baked ham or chicken fried steak. none of which could I wrap my head around. Bottom line: stars are due to the pie. if no pie, 1 star for server.

Awesome old fashion café. Staff was very friendly, nice and helpful w all of our allergy needs. Good was delicious to say the least. A description wouldn’t do it justice. The place smelt like sweet pies and it was like being at grandmas house w them on the counter. Definitely a good find and a place to stop.

Driving through the state and found this great diner by chance. Fried chicken was solid, but cornbread stuffing, potato salad, beef gravy was outstanding. Quality southern grub in a homey atmosphere. Would definitely come here again.

Great service from friendly people. Great food for breakfast and lunch. Simple menu. Breakfast is a steal at $ 6 for a very delicious filling plate of Yo Moma’s Home Cooking. The pies are still great, but a bit overpriced. Be very careful on taking the pies home; pack carefully. The people who work there are easily the friendliest anywhere.

Great atmosphere and awesome service. Staff genuinely cares and goes above and beyond. I’m told stuffed biscuits and hash browns are to die for. I went with French toast and bacon and left a happy camper. The cinnamon and powdered sugar was perfect amount. I just moved to Monroe and can’t wait to go back to try more items. Another plus— homemade pie and free wi-fi!

Great atmosphere with good food and amazing pies, at least to the eyes they were. I went for breakfast and was highly satisfied. Grits and ham were the highlights, but I inhaled all of it. Next time I’m in Monroe, this will be on my stops.

Awesome breakfast. Banana pancakes are a must! The servers were extremely friendly and with this being our first time to Louisiana they hipped us to some things we might want to see before we left town.

This is THE breakfast destination in Monroe that isn’t the corporate bullsh** that is IHOP and the«chop-off-both-arms-and-legs» prices of Copeland’s. Lea’s is staffed by friendly people who will greet you and make pleasant conversation. Also: BEST. GUMBO. IN. MONROE. If you think that isn’t true, I will fight you. That’s no lie. The breakfast food and poboys are delicious. I highly recommend the Lagniappe for breakfast and the Hitchiker’s Ham Sandwich for literally any other time of day. Their pie is good, even if I have seen meringue done better at other places. You can overlook that. WARNING, THOUGH: There is hardly anywhere to park. So, if you come during rush hours, prepare to fight to the death for that blessed space between the white lines. GOHERE. THESEPEOPLEDESERVEYOURBUSINESS!

Best Southern Breakfast Ever! It’s that simple. Melt in your mouth biscuits, thick and rich gravy, excellent grits, and eggs done to perfection. What more could you want? A piece of pie. We heard about the great pies — so when we ordered, we asked our server her favorite. She was torn between the Coconut Cream and the Chocolate. We ordered the Chocolate Pie — before our breakfasts. Delicious. A beautiful soft meringue top crowned the masterpiece. The pie itself: fluffy meringue, luscious chocolate and a light and airy crust. Were we not so full after breakfast — we would have ordered the Chicken Fried Steak lunch special right then and there! But we’ll be back for that some other time. The food, along with the friendly service and uncomplicated atmosphere made this our favorite place to eat in Monroe! Eat Here!
