This is one of my favorite places in town. The staff and owner always friendly, food is good and prices are right.

My first visit to Samurai was a major disappointment. The service was terrible, but I don’t blame the waitress, she had no help. There were maybe five people at the bar, no hostess to seat me. I walked in and took a seat with my party already seated. Never got a menu, 20 minutes before I got a glass of water and a drink. The food is mediocre at best. Don’t waste your time and money. My suggestion, go to Rawz. The food there is 10 times better, the service is always good. Sometimes you have to wait for a table, but it’s worth the wait.

The food was delicious, but I can’t understand why the service is so slow. We were a table of four and there were only 3 other tables with a grand goal of 9 people in the whole restaurant at noon on a Wednesday… and yet we were in there for close to 90 minutes. Instead of all the main courses coming out together, they were brought out one by one with several minutes in between, which is just awkward. With that said, the sushi was delicious– especially the Southern Crunch and The Volcano Roll. The volcano roll came smothered in a creamy scallop sauce(I wish I had taken a picture). The sauce was so good my friend asked for a little extra on the side. I figured we’d get one of those little plastic container cups. What he brought was a soup sized bowl of sauce. Way more than anyone could ever need for the amount of sushi on the plate. What I didn’t like is that the extra sauce was on the bill with a whopping $ 4 price tag and he never indicated an extra charge, most definitely not $ 4! The food itself was already pricey, they can’t throw in a little extra sauce??? We spent almost $ 100 for 4 people for lunch on a weekday(over $ 100 with a tip) and certainly didn’t order anything over the top or extravagant. Its overpriced and needs some management overhaul perhaps if its going to stay in business like that.

This place used to be real good. However, for the portions they give with the high end prices, I’d have to pass. Moreover, the wait used to be long, but the service was good. Now, the past few times I’ve gone, the service takes foreverrrrrr. Their food flavors are very yummy, don’t get me wrong. But by the time you order pad thai, add tofu, add the meat, add something else, it’s a $ 30 dish. Ehhh, I’m a college kid in a college city looking for college eats. Bring on a larger serving size at least, or lower the prices. However, nice set up and nice vibe.

Food is a little above average. Waitress was very attentive but service was very unusual. Dishes were serve at the table when they were prepared therefore you either waited to eat when the rest of the tables food arrived or were rude and ate when the food arrived. This is the only fine dining restaurant that I have eaten in that serviced in this manner. My entrée arrived at the table before my sushi appetizer. I started to send it back but didn’t. I will not return!

A fantastic place to eat! The appetizers are wonderful. The sushi is some of the best I’ve had, and I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to sushi Try the rainbow roll, red dragon or spicy bomb. They also have things a little more tame if you are not a hard core sushi eater. The atmosphere is great! Cool music, light lighting, and if you’re lucky, you might even get to sit on a couch for dinner. Yes, the service is slow, but it’s because the food is CAREFULLY prepared and the place is very popular. But once that food is brought out to you and you don’t want to eat it because it’s so artsy looking, you won’t regret it. Just to add some fun, ask for a saki bomb! Enjoy!

Service is very slow. Don’t go there in a hurry. Limited seating. LOUD. LOUD. Very club-like music — LOUD. No conversation. Sushi is good, and there are some Thai selections and Japanese stir fry for those non-sushi eaters. Very interesting mixed drinks. Try them all. I like the egg and spring rolls, they’re some of the best out there.

SLOW service. The atmosphere is a lot like a club so good luck trying to have a normal conversation with anyone without yelling. Way overpriced. Go down the street to Rawz for better service and food. I guess the only plus side to Samurai is that they serve expensive mixed drinks.

My favorite place to eat! The food is so good, and the sushi, to me, is the best around! They are extremely slow on takout orders; usually takes two hours to get an order on week days! If you don’t have a reservation they might not let you in! Other than that, the food is really good!
