Literally the worst experience I have ever had. If it was possible to give a negative rating, I would. I went into the St. Francis ER on a Saturday morning around 5:00 because I had been vomiting blood for three hours straight, with no respite. After a ridiculously long wait(there was only one other person waiting to be seen), I was taken back. I explained everything to the triage nurse and the nurse that took me back. They both wrote it down. At no point was I ever given anything to be sick in. I was attended to by Dr. Anthony Mitchell and he is HORRIBLE. He insulted me multiple times, basically said I overreacted by coming to the hospital for a «little vomiting» and that he didn’t know what I expected from him. After I expressed concern over the blood in my stool also-he then asked if I wanted a «finger up my bottom» to check for internal bleeding. Very rude, very condescending, no help at all. Don’t be a doctor if you are not genuinely interested in helping people!

My one complaint is the parking. Very cramp. Not a fan of it at all. Like the doctors; however, is it rule the doctors learn in medical school that they must force their patients to wait past the time they actually scheduled to see their doctor?

I feel that in rating a hospital you have to rate visit by visit instead of in general. I am surprised how inefficient things passed during the ER visit. My spouse obviously had fever but had been drinking water(which the triage nurse didn’t listen to) and it did not register on the machine. He was placed on a bed in the hall and was left for over an hour. His fever got so high he lost consciousness. I had to almost scream to get someone to come help him. The person that drew blood was suppose to draw from two different sites for the Dr. to help diagnosis him but found it too difficult so they just submitted two tubes from the same site. The nurses have something like blue tooth walkie talkies and lots of modern equipment but the ER was dirty. Much of the nursing and support staff was not professionally dressed or presented. One nurse whenever she moved her arms, her shirt being too small, would come up showing her belly and top of her underwear. Another had to hold the back of her pants when she bent down but one just sat in the hall with most of her butt crack showing. I did not feel very confident in the care given. I was very upset about him losing consciousness and asked questions about how severe his condition was which quickly aggravated the nurse«caring» for him. There was a very kind RN who put me at great ease. I feel the care given could have been better and more thorough. My spouse was discharged in six hours from St Francis and then admitted to another hospital a couple of days later for a week for the same issue.(Which is serious and life threatening) I asked our Dr why he wasn’t just admitted from the ER and he said because St. Francis didn’t have room. Why didn’t they just send us somewhere else? This hospital has a long standing good reputation. I hope it is not starting slip. There is so much more they really could have and should have done.
