Started with amazing chips and hot sauce; ate the shrimp fajitas which included fresh green and red peppers and a crazy amount of shrimp!!! The drinks brought the buzz we were looking for :)

No. Will not go again. We had high hopes as Mi Tierra parking lot was a zoo and maybe this could be a new spot for us? Loved that the kitchen was open for view, that’s always reassuring. No. We ordered a high-priced entrée with specific order for NO vegetables. Onions, peppers and mushrooms were listed on the menu. The waitress brings out our plate and with the steak covered in mushrooms and says«I hope this OK, I know you said no vegetables». We said politely No, it’s not OK, and could they remake our dish? She began to ask if allergy was a concern and if she could just bring us a side plate to scrape off the mushrooms? WTF? No, we said MEATONLY and it was awkward having to negotiate this with the waitress. She begrudgingly took the plate back explaining in spanish to the cook. Our new plate came out in like 5 minutes-pretty sure they rinsed and reheated out meat(gross). The waitress was super socially awkward the whole time, belittling the dishwasher and patting him on the back – right in front of our table, it was weird. Kids ordered american dishes, fries were super hot at ends and cold in middle. Beans and rice on adult entrees were bland. No thank you. $ 60 check and a weak 10% tip=NOTWORTHIT. Maybe this was an off day for the cooks and serving staff; still we won’t go back to find out.

A nice family friendly mexican restaurant with good service. The food was average but the service is great. I do hope the street changes will make main street parking more convenient too.

As some others have alluded to, if you are looking for a fancy place to impress a first date, Tijuana is not for you. If you want delicious Mexican food, prepared and served by a wonderful family, then Tijuana is the place to be. As for the quality of food, Tijuana serves the best Mexican food in Monroe(there are now 7 Mexican restaurants counting the food trucks). It’s like going to your Mexican grandmother’s house for dinner. Yes it’s a little dark, and the building is rundown(which may give the impression of being«dirty», but it’s not), but the warmth of the family and the deliciousness of the food make up for it. I recommend anything with pastor, the pollo de diabla, and especially the mole. The Tijuana steak is delicious(maybe a little greasy) and of course, the margaritas are strong(order yours with Patron because you’re worth it). I do not throw around 5-star reviews, so consider this rating a 4+. 5-star reviews are for mind-blowing culinary experiences. Tijuana is not mind-blowing, but it is one of my favorite hang-outs.

Es mi restaurante preferido. Comida auténtica Mexicana. Y te sientes como en tu casa. Lo súper recomiendo.

One of the better Mexican food places we have been to since moving up from San Diego. They are close to authentic. Chips and salsa served for free like at most mex restaurants. If I could I would give the salsa a bit more kick. The sides are a bit small for the price, but they are good. The customer service is friendly and really works to make sure all your needs are met. The restaurant is fairly clean and atmosphere is nice as well. I’ve enjoyed bringing my family there a couple times now and we all leave happy.

Been eating here for 15 years and it’s awesome. Highly recommended the prawn salad. You won’t be disappointed and you won’t go home hungry!

Great Mexican food in historic downtown Monroe. Skip the fast food options and make the effort to stop here for lunch or dinner. The owners are great and the food is quality. The service is quick – we didn’t wait long to order or get or food during lunch. The price is reasonable too.

I was fooled. When I said there was vegan options. There really isnt. The veggies in my burrito were cooked with BUTTER. Who does that? So my other burritos I had were filled with Dairy puss… thats not cool even after I made it clear to have no dairy. So thats F*cked up Im not comming here again. Good food if your an omnivore but not for vegans. Oh yeah service sucks. Waitress sucks. Go somewhere else

Took the family here for the first time. It was good. I have not been to very many Mexican restaurants in Monroe but my son has and he said it was the best he has had in Monroe. Was concerned when we first got there as we were the only ones there but soon the place got busy and we noticed a lot of take-out business also. Overall it was very good.

We tried this restaurant today because of good Unilocal reviews but it just didn’t meet our expectations. Carne asada was overcooked & dry. Walls were dirty. However, service & guacamole were good. We’ll keep searching for great Mexican food in Monroe.

Bottled soda. Not a clean place. Portion size ok. Bland California burrito. I don’t think the cook knows what spices are. The carne asada had zero flavor. Paid $ 2 extra for the steak and it had literally no spices what so ever. Is there a cilantro shortage or what? Must be out if limes too. At least the chips and salsa were good. I’m still hungry:(…

Simply the best homemade Mexican food around. Get the drink special and anything on the menu is supurb. Family serves you and Martha and her husband work HARD. They ROCK and it is one of my favorite places to eat! worth the wait if there is one!

The food was very good. My wife was trying it for the first time, and she was very impressed. I was disappointed by the service though. I am always saddened when servers decide that you are finished and want nothing more without asking. I had finished my food, and was not asked if I wanted more drink, or if I was interested in dessert. My daughter was only half done with her food, so I would have liked my drink refilled while waiting for her to finish. Definitely go for the food, and they should have better service most days, all though the place was empty so there was no excuse for the poor service.

Inside is nice, clean and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious, including the chips w/medium salsa and pico de Gallo. I had the carne asada, and the sides were delicious ans fresh.

This is the most filthiest room I ever been, I cannot call it a restaurant, perhaps a shithole. Besides being filthy and depressing, food they are serving is awful, and its not authentic. I ordered they grande burrito and I had to laugh when it was served on my table because it was the burrito from a 5th-world country, the smallest and the most ridiculous burrito ever. I ordered my grande burrito with everything and with shredded beef, but when I opened my burrito it had only some beans and rice from the can, no meat at all. I called waitress, I guess she is also the owner, and told her that my burrito doesn’t have anything in it especially shredded beef. Her reply was«I don’t think so», so I asked her«So you think I drove all the way from Seattle to this dump to ordered your shitty burrito, in order to eat all the beef and then pretend like it wasn’t there» She just looked at me like I stoled the beef and went to kitchen to tell cook what I said pointing finger at me from the kitchen. I could see some old person pretending to be a cook wiping his sweat with his hands from his forehead and denying my complain. She never came back. I just went outside and never looked back, until now. I just cannot believe that people would eat here, the filth of this place is overwhelming, menus were covered with mold and food stains. And talking about AUTHENTIC food from Mexico — LOLLOLLOL, I cannot stop laughing. Americans are funny people you can sell them anything and they will believe its the real thing. LOLLOLLOL…

I had heard great things about Tijuana’s after complaining to some locals about the other two Mexican restaurants in town. I was told this place had the best food and was kinda a local secret. This place was amazing. The chips were warm and crisp. The salsa was thick and fresh. Their menu while the run of the mill, it was not overloaded with numerical menu items and very simple. I ordered Juevos Rancheros and the rest of the party had tamales and a beef burrito. The Juevos were nothing like I ever tasted before. You could tell the ranchero sauce was fresh, the eggs were made right then. Whole beans and rice that was not crisp was the perfect compliment. The tamales texture was perfect. The beef burrito was amazing. The food really was that good. The one downside was that the décor was really bad. Light bulbs were burnt out all over. They had advertisement for their desserts from distributors strewn about. The bathroom floor felt like it was sinking. But I will be going back!

Nice! I always love coming here and getting a Tijuana special burrito and the salsa is quite good, personally sometimes spicier than other occasions. Only issue is sometimes service takes a little longer than expected even if it’s not busy. Eat here at least once a month, the family running the place are always quite friendly.
