I would give a ZERO rating if I could… Awful experiences each time we have been to Pro Bikes in Monroeville First experiences were a few weeks ago. We were in the market to get a new bike for my fiancé. We are just getting in to biking so we budgeted around 400 to 500. We walked around the store amazed at the overpriced bikes and we were shocked at the minimal selection within our price range. We finally got waited on(they ignore you unless you are in the pricy bike area) and the salesperson was clearly irritated that we were not looking at bikes that would increase his commissions. He used every up sell technique. We walked out irritated and drove to Southside, Thick Bikes. We ended up buying an 800 bike. They listened to us and really cared that we purchased the right bike for our needs. They provided great customer service. Same routine repeated a week or two later when we need a bike accessory for her bike… Went to Pro Bikes and felt like the invisible guy. no service Finally… The final straw that has driven me to write this review… My older bike needed minor service to the pedal. First there was a screw up and the older guy at the counter did not properly tag my bike. I called to check on its status a few days later and I had to play 20 questions with the guy so he could figure out which bike was mine… to then order the part! Picked up the bike and put it in the garage. We went riding for the first time after the repair a week later. I guess we needed to do an inspection when we picked up the bike. I got on the bike to take a ride on the trail. The chain was off and the breaks were bent to the point that they did not work. Popped the chain back on but still couldn’t ride. Somehow, my minor service requirement turned in to needing new breaks and other«tune up» work to be able to ride with my fiancé. It is now in a different shop for a week for repairs to the«repairs» from Pro Bike. Save yourself time and stress… If you live in the east … It is worth the drive to Southside… Local convenience will cost you

Been here a couple times to get help with multiple bikes and have always found the staff extremely knowledgable and helpful. They were quick to offer assistance and offer personal recommendations based on their own experience as well as doing their best to suit my budget restrictions. Plus the shop is cool and has a lot of great bikes I would highly recommend checking it out and will be shopping here again.

Just made a 60 mile round trip to the Monroeville Store for a scheduled bike fitting. Went there because my 80 member tri team spends lots of money at the store. Chuck was supposed to do the fitting. This man didn’t seem sure why I was there but then went on to look at me and the bike with what I can only describe as disdain then announced that he could not fit me to the bike because it was too big. The bike I have ridden comfortably for 8 years and only recently began experiencing neck and shoulder pain on long rides. His attitude was rude and condescending. I will relay this to my 80 member team and anyone else I can tell.

The manager is a jerk. He’s arrogant. Thinks he’s the God of all things bike related. Was rude to my kid. Buy a bike anywhere but here.

This is the only place to go in the area for mountain bikes. I am talking about mountain bikes here’ so don’t scoff if you are a road biker… I am not, and can’t speak to the road rider’s experience. After visiting their Forbes Ave. location, and having an eye rolling experience, I was happy to get great service and attentive, no BS answers from the folks out here in Monroeville. Monroeville, not a convenient drive for me coming from Sewickley. Consider the parkways, and it’s a downright PAIN to get there… But I am glad I did. I had done my research, and had it narrowed down to a very few bikes I was interested in. Based on components and price, I knew what I wanted. That changed when I went out to the Monroeville store. Jordan helped me out, and he was great. I was there with an envelope full of cash and he didn’t try to get every last bill out of me when I was there. I had the cash for the 2 bikes I had narrowed my selections down to. After speaking to Jordan, and test riding a few bikes based on his recommendations I was back to square one. The internet doesn’t cut it when you are considering a high end bike… You have to feel it, ride it, sit in the saddle, turn it, shift and brake. AND… He offered me a great deal. A GREAT deal. I got a $ 3000 bike for a TON off of that sticker price. Plus, a great discount of some tweaks I wanted to make on the set up… Upgraded brakes, different set of tubeless tires, and a few other things. When I was at the Squirrel Hill store, they were concerned about not letting me leave without getting a bike that day. Johnny at that location was pushing toward a previous year’s model Giant that had no appeal to me and the component set was terrible. They just wanted to sell me something, whereas Jordan out in Monroeville wanted to sell me the best bike for me, and probably the next 5 bikes I buy… For my wife, son, another for me in a few years… And not telling me «you’re an idiot if you don’t buy this Giant» like Johnny the Giant seller on Forbes. So, check out the Monroeville ProBikes store. They have a ton of bikes in stock, a knowledgeable sales staff that also speak well to mechanical issues, they have a nice array of accessories. Go there knowing that good bikes have gone up in price over the past few years, and if you’re there to get a serious bike, you’re at the right place.

Wanted to purchase a bike most exclusively for the many bike trails PA has to offer with my ultimate goal being to ride from Boston, PA to Washington D.C. via the rail trail. Mark was my salesperson and he took time with me and made me feel as though I was the only customer in the store. I explained my lack of expertise with bikes — to be honest, I grew up with a single speed so shifting gears has never been my specialty. To my delight, he was able to fit me to a bike that would meet my needs AND was not overly pricey. He also didn’t try to oversell me on a more expensive bike nor did he try to sell me all kinds of accessories. I test drove the bike around the parking lot and came home with my new bike. I’ve had it about a month now and am very pleased with it. I’ve put more miles on it than I thought I would have by now. I simply love our rail trails!

FINALLY!!! I finally got a new-ish bike and Pro Bikes had it. It was one of those finds that you had no idea you were even looking for. In other words, I had no intention on buying a bike, but I did. Here is the 5 senses review first. Sight: 8– Very open, tall glass walls, tons of light, and nice wood interior. Sound: 1– The lower the score here the better. You can hear people easily and yourself think. Taste: 0– I hope you are not here for taste, but if you are I won’t judge. It’s a bike shop! Touch: 8– I am a hands on shopper and that drives my wife nuts. But they let you touch and feel your way around trying out things. It was nice. Smell: 5– I might be weird but I like the smell of a work shop. Things are getting done. My father-in-law and I went in to look for spacers for his bike and had no luck. This is not Pro Bikes fault, but his. He is looking for chrome spacers and they just are not in style right now. They did have a handful just not enough. The staff was kind, smiley and very helpful. Like many bike shops they too have a guy who will size you to a bike. What I liked about this place is that this guy goes on the decades of experience that he has and not technology. I’m not looking to ride in the Tour ‘d France so why spend the money on an insane fitting. He asked plenty of questions in order to decide if the bike was right for me and if the fit was right. He made it a point to make it about me and the bike and not the stores profit. If it wasn’t right, he might not have let me buy it. I like that they put the customer first. I give this 4 stars even though I may not go back. It is not because of them, but geography. I live to far away. However if you live closer to Monroeville please stop in. Test ride and get fitted.
