I had a very bad experience with this ‘business.’ I did not buy direct from them, I actually purchased a Nikon SB-800 Speedlight Flash through Amazon from them as a third-party vendor. Through some brief research, I found that King Camera, in Monsey, NY goes by «PlusDigUSA» on Amazon. I purchased what was advertised as a «Nikon SB-800AF Speedlight for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras — Old Version» in «refurbished» condition. I have purchased many Nikon refurbished products in the past which always look mistakably new, and this was not one. The item was clearly used, with scratches and marks all over it, it came it a brown packing box instead of the usual gray Nikon Refurbished box, and the adjustment head didn’t rotate correctly. Setting that aside, I called Nikon to try and verify if it had ever been refurbished or reconditioned by them via the serial number, and they told me that it had never been to any of their service centers for either reconditioning/refurbishing or repair(not to mention the seller put a fake document that said it was refurbished by Nikon in the package). Aggravated with the item quality and the sale, I contacted Amazon for return and requested thru Amazon that I receive full refund as well as return shipping costs which were only $ 5.49, due to the misrepresentation of the item. The seller agreed via email thru Amazon; however, upon receiving my refund, no return shipping costs were included. I was able to settle this, with no help from the seller, thru Amazon directly who made good on the difference, and I ended up not filing a grievance against«PlusDigUSA»(which I probably should have). I left a brief, negative review on Amazon under the seller profile outlining my general experience and what had happened. No more than five minutes later, I get a CALL from the seller trying to dispute the condition of the item and essentially bargaining with me about my refund money by telling me to take down my negative feedback in order to receive a full and complete refund(which ironically he didn’t know I had already settled with Amazon and gotten all my money I had requested back). Ultimately he admitted that his ‘company’ could have made a mistake on the item condition and persisted that I delete my feedback. The nerve of the guy! Amazon third-party vendors are NOT supposed to have contact with their customers, that is the point of Amazon!!! How he got my phone number, I am still looking into. I would not recommend either PlusDigUSA or King Camera(same thing — which all I had to do to make the connection was type in the number I was called on into Google). It’s a gamble dealing with them and they seem like they are trying to pass off used, sub-par products as higher quality for more profit.
