Food was good! The green sauce was yummy! Taco shells were soggy and could have been crispier, but we did get them to go, so that may have been the reason. Quesadilla was so good! We got chicken and steak, and I recommend them!

I would have chosen zero stars, but the Unilocal scale doesn’t go that low. I ordered takeout from Iguana Joe’s after hearing great reviews about how it tasted so authentic and everything was just wonderful. I ordered the tamale dinner and stopped eating it after the first bite. I thought they were giving me real tamales and I received 3 soggy tamale wanna-bes with some sort of gravy-cheese sauce. Gravy doesn’t go on a tamale. It should come still steaming in the shuck. I couldn’t even taste the meat. The entire thing was horribly bland. I tried to eat the rice and beans to get something into my stomach. They were also terribly bland and did not taste authentic at all. True Tex-Mex is supposed to be vibrant and bursting with flavor and I feel that I –almost– ate the equivalent of a dirty limp dishrag. They even skimped on the chips and salsa. I got a sandwich bag full of chips and two little cups of what they called sauce. I usually judge a Tex-Mex restaurant by their red sauce and I found nothing to tell it was even Tex-Mex. It tasted like tomato sauce fresh out of the can. The green sauce was somewhat better, but I would like to respectfully recommend to the chef that they add a little cilantro and some lime juice. The guacamole was also disappointing. Nothing had any flavor. The food made me very aware that this is a chain restaurant. Why do these restaurants think that because we live in a small town that we don’t deserve something that tastes even halfway decent? I was expecting excitement and a little spice. What I received is something I would rather forget.

Spent $ 28.00 for 6 beef fajita tacos and highly upset. Not because of the price, but because of the quality of the food. The fajita meat was not seasoned at all and the tacos itself were fairly small. Very disappointed and will not be returning back. 0 stars if possible.

–The green sauce was Amazing. –The Chicken Diablos(Chicken stuffed with bacon, cheese, & jalapeño) was REALLY good. –The burrito was nothing special. –Friendly service & quick with refills –Unfortunately, I felt like this restaurant could have been cleaner.

Food is marginal, but the service gets poor marks. Slow to return to table to check on needs. Not very busy, so what are they doing behind the scene. Second visit with poor service. no mas!

The flautas and green sauce are the best. The beans and rice are so so. The enchiladas are ok.

Husband order chicken quesadillas and shrimp brochette. This is my shrimp brochette. Looks like slop. I guess the reason they have so many people there is because of where it’s located. Worse inguan joe restaurant on take outs and dine in. Try the one on the beltway. Way better food and drinks.

I was on a healthy cleanse and to my surprise this restaurant had a low calorie meal. I had the lemon pepper grill chicken that was extremely amazing! Was very impressed…

Like the other reviewers before me have stated… the green sauce that is served with the chips and salsa is phenomenal. It is creamy, rich, and oh so tasty. I would come back solely for this stuff. Seriously. The salsa wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t horrible. It basically got left behind as we devoured Mr. Green. Three of us ordered the Big Joe burrito which came with our choice of fajita beef, chicken or ground beef. Two of us chose fajita beef and I was floored at how amazing and huge this burrito was. It was stuffed with Mexican rice, tomatoes, refried beans, aforementioned fajita beef, sour cream and covered with a delicious chili con queso. It was so filling. My only complaint was that it needed a side like rice and beans to accompany it as our plate was so bare. My sister had the stuffed avocado(you have your choice of one or two) and was also given the choice of chicken and/or ground or fajita beef. I ALMOST wish I’d gotten this because the avocado itself was perfectly toasted and ripe. One avocado was enough for her and she left with leftovers. My tea was delicous and our server, Brandon was on his game the entire night. We never went without anything and our food was out within 10 minutes. I think we found our new Mexican food joint.

The Amazon green sauce they give you with the chips is awesome! Here is what we ordered– *fish tacos — yum yum! Grilled not fried. Have a zesty sauce, not dry at all. Very filling. *combo fajitas — great! I for one think fajitas are as «easy» dish, it’s hard to make them really bad. But these were as good as some of my favorite tex mex places! Liked the beef better than the chicken. Like some other reviewers I agree the service could use some help. Waitress wasn’t very knowledgable on the menu, not very nice. Also the restaurant has a ton of tables and is pretty loud, but we had kids in our party so we appreciated the noise.

Worst service. Can’t get a drink refill. Waiter can’t speak a word of English. Never will grace there establishment again. Food was blan. Nasty restrooms. This place should be bulldozed to the foundation.

The queso is to die for! The food is definitely authentic tex-mex and its in Texas! This beats all of the Mexican restaurants back home in Ohio! However, the staff is average. Not very polite.

Visited Iguana Joe’s today in celebration of Cinco de mayo and had a great time! The hubby and I enjoyed a quesedilla as an appetizer and t-dawg bowls for dinner. The food was great! Also, the service was amazing, considering the holiday. Our server, Nicki, was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly! We will definitely be back for great food, fun and service!

I am not sure if I am the biggest fan of Iggy’s because I grew up on it, or if it really is just wonderful. This is a go to when I am in town. I will not go home before I have made a trip to Iggy’s. If you go there be sure and get their margaritas, specifically their Cadillac margarita. They are the strongest around! Well, besides Luna’s. The service here is always fast and friendly. I don’t think I have ever had a bad experience here. Their patio is really big and spacious. A nice hang out. I am pretty sure I have tried everything on the menu and have had no complaints. A great tex mex place to try out when you are in Mont Belvieu.

This is my, «Will you meet me halfway?» point for my Baytown resident girlfriends and I when we want to have dinner night. PROS: — Delicious and I mean DELICIOUS green sauce! Not the traditional Mexican green sauce you would expect but I love it! Very Tex-Mex. — …and to go with that delicious green sauce they have some of the LIGHTEST and CRISPIEST tortilla chips. Make sure you ask for warm ones! — The fajitas are yummy! — Reasonable prices! — Great alcohol selections — they also serve wine! — They offer complementary ice cream cones! — They have a smoking section by the bar. CONS: — Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a hassle. Just be careful for all the beautiful people of Mont Belvieu. — Sometimes service can be a hit or miss. — They have a smoking section by the bar and although it is somewhat blocked off if you’re seated closer to that vicinity you might get the smell lingering around you. Overall, not a bad place to have a girlfriend date at or whatever kind of date you want to have.

I’ve eaten here about 1000 times since they opened their first restaurant in Mont Belveiu. I’ve probably devoured bowls of green sauce on the same order of magnitude. It’s delicious. Their menu has expanded substantially since those early days and the food is exactly what I expect every time. Cheesy, meaty, refried, heavy portion tex mex goodness. We had beef tacos, cheese enchiladas, rounds of salsa, and the mother of all Sea Dawg. It has mexican rice refried beans queso cheese shrimp and crawfish tails. Good lord is it delicious. They will even put that on top of a baked potato if you ask. It’s called a sea spud. Try it. You will not be disappointed. For drink we had a sangria-Rita, a Cadillac marg, and a cerverita. All of them not super tart and refreshing. Don’t forget free soft serve in the back. If you’ve made it this far down my review hear this. If you’ve never been here before you should try it. The parking lot is always packed and even though you would think that means a huge wait… I’ve never been here and waited more than ~10 minutes. They somehow move folks in and out like a herd of cattle.

I come here at least once a week for lunch and the best word I can say to describe the food is «addicting»! The green sauce they give you when you first sit down is awesome! I have no self control when it comes to that sauce and more often than not I’m filling up on chips before I even get my meal. They are always generous with the chips and are quick to refill when the sauces and chips get low. My 2 go to lunch options are the lunch portioned tortilla soup(with avocado!) and fajita salad and the lunch portioned quesadillas both of which are delicious! They are light enough that I can go back to work after my break without falling asleep but enough to keep me full for the rest of the day. I’ve also gotten the stuffed avocados and the taco salad with fajita meat which were both good options as well! Service in my experience has always been prompt. +1 for the FREESOFTSERVEICECREAM located at the back of the restaurant! I love when places do this. I always manage to make space for a cone after my meal. This will continue to be my go-to lunch break Mexican restaurant!
