Stephanie makes some wicked tasty crepes. Nice little spot, worth a stop if you’re driving along the coast!

This place is such an awesome addition to such a cute little town like Montara! Stephanie’s Restaurant has a casual comfortable feel to it that makes you feel like you could just hang out all day. The owner, Stephanie, is super nice and seems to really enjoy what she does. We got pizza and soup. Both were really good and fresh tasting. Ocean and sunset view is a nice bonus. I probably wouldn’t choose this place for a super fancy date night but rather a lunch/dinner family outing(or date!) when you’re wanting a nice local feel, friendly staff, good fresh food.

This place is awesome. My friend and I took a day trip with the dog to Halfmoon Bay on New Year’s day, but couldn’t find a good place to eat that wasn’t absolutely crawling with tourists, so we headed up 1 to Moss Beach and found this little gem. The place is simple, yet homey feeling. The waitress was very nice, and even when my dog was not, she brought us our drinks and food in good time. The owner(I’m suspecting) was in the back working the kitchen most of the time, but did come out to the front dining area to ring us up. Very nice lady. They have an inside and outside seating area, and are dog friendly(outside). The inside was nice and warm as well. Very inviting setting. I ordered an omelet. We both enjoyed our food very much. The potatoes in my omelet were delicious. The coffee was also surprisingly good for a small café. I’m used to watered down brown water at places like these. All in all, I think they’re very deserving of my four stars here at Stephanie’s. It’s tucked away a bit, but some of the best things in life are the hardest to find. It just makes it that much more worth it when you stumble across places like this.

Let me help you get your expectations in order before you visit Stephanie’s. Expect an extensive menu of burgers, omelettes, crepes, and entrees. Expect a wait for your home cooked meal, good portion sizes, tasty burgers, and basic coffee with free refills. Expect a gray painted beach shack with rock music playing. If you’re expectations are set I think you’ll enjoy the food!

Great breakfast, and a location across the street from the ocean. There’s only one person doing the cooking so be prepared for a more leisurely pace. However, we found the wait to be worthwhile. The ingredients were of high quality, everything was cooked perfectly, the service was friendly, and we’ll definitely be back.

Crap service. We stayed at the Ocean View Inn and the include breakfast here. We walked in and it looked likes cute café. The server asked if we stayed at the hotel and brought us some OJ. Then some locals walked in that she knew. 10 later our order had not been taken but the locals food was on the grill. Poor service. We walked after finishing the OJ. We would stay at the hotel again but I wouldn’t even defecate in this restaurant. I recommend you drive down the road to 3-Zero Café. Excellent

Stephanie catered late-night pizzas for our daughter’s wedding at the nearby La Costanera restaurant. The pizzas were delicious, delivered hot and on time at 11:00PM. It was delightful to deal with Stephanie, and based on the pizzas, she makes excellent food!

Came here first time. The omelet was fantastic and well made. We got the Granada which was pretty much ham and veggies. There was also a special that was a banana pancake – it tasted great for the little one although it could be a bit less burnt.‘ I got the Fisherman’s Catch, which was not very good considering the price. The filet of sole were very skimpily bread-battered. ZILCH in flavor. I never had to use the salt and pepper shaker but I guess there’s always a first… Wait is long but it is a proprietorship and only one cook – you’ve been warned! I did not knock off for this – local businesses are important, and this one was close to the beach. Ambience is alright. Overall, I“ll give it an average of 3. Really want to like it more – maybe next time. The fish really killed it at that price and flavor…

Great food, but the service is really slow. Price point is good for locals. Milk shakes are yummy!

Hand cut/battered, perfectly fried onion rings = 5 Stars 3 Item custom burger with only 2 items on it = 2 stars Dog-friendly patio seating = YAY! Despite missing an item, the turkey burger was yummy(not dry, as is often the case). I appreciate having the option of a side salad with my burger instead of only just standard fries or something similar. I’ll be back, but will be double-checking my take-out order before leaving. I suggest you do the same.

My husband and I bumped into this cozy little restaurant while in Montara. One of the BEST burgers I’ve ever had! The fries were fresh cut fries too! Definitely making a second trip back to this place! Stephanie was very sweet and friendly.

Stephanie(the owner) really cares about her customers, community, and business. I’m a local Montarian that has been here three times since she has opened up. Her salads, burgers, sandwitches, milkshakes and appetizers are good. I feel like she really cares about the choices that she gives her customers. It’s important to her. It really feels like home the minute you step inside. Décor and views from inside are fantastic. My family and I have been with her since she ran Montara 7th Street Restaurant. She continues to offer the same high level of quality local seafood and service. It’s a very welcoming haunt to locals and coast-side visitors. :)
