As someone who has never been to Montauk, I arrived famished and in search of food. I stumbled upon this establishment and could not have been happier. Not only were the soft tacos out of this world, but he chips with guacamole were fresh and delicious(this coming from someone who learned the art of making guacamole in Mexico). Not only was the food beyond comparison to the numerous Mexican cuisine located near my hometown, but the woman preparing my food was very friendly and receptive to conversation, even giving me detailed directions to a dog park to take my two canine companions. Fresh ingredients, hearty portions, and anyone looking out for my canine best friends rates 5 stars in my book any day!

Food is fresh and good. Hard taco shells were a little stale. Seating outside is nice with a breeze. Overall I would recommend.

Not sure how long this place has been here but its pretty good. Found it as I was wondering around town the other night. Ive been coming to Montauk for a long time now and I never noticed it before. I had chicken tacos and they were really good. The prices are good as well but there isn’t much seating. Im not sure how crowded they get on the weekend but there are only a few picnic tables in the back which are outside.

Solid tacos. Reminds me a little of Chipotle but more mom and pop ish. We both got soft tacos with different meats in them, and they were tasty. I would have liked a few more options in terms of hot sauces and the cook/server seemed a little preoccupied while taking our order. I’m not sure if it’s a Montauk thing but some food places/stores we’ve been to just seem a tad inconvenienced in terms of taking customers. I’d definitely go back for a quick taco or the like.

Had the soft tacos, one with fish, two with chicken. The fish was super fresh and the chicken was flavorful. The toppings were fresh as well. Guac had great flavor. The woman behind the counter was friendly and made everything to order. Cool, chill, little place for lunch.

I believe that their offerings are good. Great quality and prepared with care. I’ve eaten there three or four times and found the food to be very good — I highly recommend it. Good value, too.

Closed at 6:00 on a Friday night? Calling in a burrito order for 6 people at 6:05 and they told us they close at 6:00? Crazy, closing before dinner. Makes no sense to me. Guess they felt the need to get out of there before people could place orders for dinner. Just for the record their menu says«Open 7 Days a Week», «Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner».

Good authentic Mexican food I bought 3 soft tacos n all I can say I’m impress fresh in house made everything from the marinated pork to the guacamole and super Duper hot sauce! The tortillas do not fall apart as you’re eating them as they do at many other places make sure you order their hot sauce on the side very spicy

Let’s get one thing straight. Burritos in New York(and throughout much of the eastern half of the country) kinda suck. This is not Gringo’s fault. They can’t help it. If you’re ok with that, this is a perfectly acceptable place to get a decent but not great burrito. On the bright side, they were generous with the toppings(even the proteins) and the hot salsa was nice and spicy and delicious.

Barely decent burrito! Can get better from a Ffood chain! Kinda disappointing but real easy to cross off the list of eating joints in Montauk!

I tried this place for the second time and it was much better than my first visit. I got the steak burrito with the medium salsa, guac and sour cream. The burrito could have been warmer all together, but the taste and size were decent. If you are a fan of Moe’s this place is WAY better. The flavor is not as tasty as Chipotle or Qdoba.

Rice, hottest chilli sauce crispy shell tacos made my afternoon … Best when u can’t wait anymore to place an order in the posh restaurant around … Quick and fastest food place, in and out patios are great during hot summer days…

First I’ll say my burrito bowl was very good. Tasty, light and filling. Unfortunately, it was not an enjoyable experience. There was a young singer playing lovely, but extremely loud amplified music that made talking impossible. Worse, there were several women sitting on the stairs, blocking the only access to the searing area. Two moves over so I could walk by, one so intent on iPhone videoing her son she couldn’t be bothered. I tripped on her purse strap, spilling my water cups all over myself and the stairs. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. They’re lucky I was just hungry and wanted to get out of there.

Didn’t go inside. Wife went to order and I stayed outside with the dog. First impressions is that it’s clean, funky and neat. Seems to be an upstairs seating area, picnic-style tables out front and a small patio area in the back. No bathroom?(Though I think the woman working didn’t realize I was a patron.) Per wife, you order«Subway Style» where you pick out your fillings. Probably makes sense to do it this way when things are busy during the summer. Wife got pork tacos and found them«satisfying». I got a marinated steak burrito with yellow rice, beans, sour cream and some super-hot chiles that my wife added in there. I love her. My colon hates her. The steak was pretty juicy and very flavorful. The burrito was HUGE and would fall apart at times necessitating the use of a fork. Overall, not bad. It’s not the BEST Mexican or Tex-Mex we’ve had but it’s a decent option to overpriced lobster rolls. $ 25 got us 3 tacos, my humongous burrito and 2 bottles of water. Not too bad for«out East». We would eat here again, I think.

Like my buddy below, I was also very excited at the possibility of a Mexican food spot in Montauk. Had to give it a try one day… I came with my wife, and I’d ordered a steak burrito; my wife a small, soft taco. The burrito was stuffed with meat and cheese, which is a HUGE +1 for me(usually, you have to ask)…but that’s when it went a bit stale… The entire burrito was all so BLAND. Tasteless. You wouldn’t know it was seasoned with ANYTHING — medium spicy sauce, pico, anything. The price is also high, even for Montauk, so prepare to write those checks.

I was excited to see a mexican grill-type place finely pop up in Montauk. 2.5 stars but definitely not worthy of getting the full 3 on Unilocal’s website. Just a warning I got a burrito with guacamole and a bottle of water and it came out to almost $ 15. That is insane because you can get the same thing at Chipotle in midtown manhattan for less money and it will be twice as good. The tortilla is not a white flour tortilla so it kind of has that overbearing taste when you bite into the burrito. The pork was decent but not really filled with flavor. Guacamole was also bland as was pretty much every other ingredient besides the hot salsa. The cheese was not that nice finely shredded mexican blend you see at most chain mexican grills. Hot salsa was good but if you bit into a pepper which are in the hot salsa you’ll be running around for water(only to spread the heat around your mouth more). Burritos were big which was a plus but I am more concerned about quality and at $ 9 before tax just for a burrito without guacamole I will pass. It was just one of those burritos you get halfway through and there is nothing enticing you to keep going when you start to feel the first sign of hunger satisfaction. Whereas at chipotle it is usually so good that you can’t help but push yourself to the edge of your stomach exploding. Not worth going back to even when I have a mexican craving as there are so many better places in montauk to get a quick bite. Do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Herb’s market to get a sandwich for a little more than half the price of one of these burritos if youre really in need for a quick fix.

Decent mexican food. Burrito’s have good flavor. They are massively large too, so it’s a good value meal. Right in the heart of town. They get extra kudos for charging slightly less for the burrito bowl, this is probably the only burrito place I’ve been to that recognizes that deletion of an item should lead to savings passed on to the customer. I also heard they deliver to the beach, which is weird because I can’t imagine in a crowd of thousands of people all wearing the same thing(bathing suits) how difficult it must be for the delivery guy to find the guy in the blue Hurley board shorts. I might have given them 4 stars if they had a bathroom, but they don’t. That is even more odd than delivering to the beach, is that even legal to be a food service establishment that has no bathroom? They told my fiancé she had to use the public bathrooms across from Sloppy Tuna(by no means a close walk). I’ll go back for sure as an $ 8 burrito is a bargain in the ever increasing cost of meals in Montauk.

Nice and easy short order Mexican joint which wasn’t too bad. The tacos were a little bland, but worth the quick pickup. They’ve got a half-decent pork taco and a fine chicken taco. We kept it overly simple, but I’d definitely come back for more.
