This place is horrible. Terrible service, flies In our food. Took an hour to get the check, only to have the wrong charges.

we have been going to montauk for years and this used to be on of our favorite places for breakfast. when they changed the name and the menu however, it was all down hill. first the staff is rude and unattentive. the menu is extremely limited and whatever fond memories we had are gone. avoid if possible

A bit pricey, but the staff is attentive and the food is a-ok. Nice venue and they have drinks. Interesting young and family crowd-blend. Beachy, laid-back vibe. Overall, pretty sweet!

I am not the type of person to write terrible reviews, but this is honestly the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. If it were possible to give negative stars, I absolutely would. The entire experience was absurd. The customer service, food, and management were horrible. We went for lunch at 1:30pm. The menu said lunch starts at 12:00. We ordered burgers from that very lunch menu, but the waitress informed us that they would not make burgers until 2:00 because they were«too busy». We ordered hot chocolates because it felt like the AC was set at about 52 degrees. They were cold and the«whipped cream» was congealing on top. We ordered sodas next, asked for straws and were told, «We have no straws, but the don’t worry, the glasses are clean.» The waitress was not joking. As if straws would somehow excuse dirty glasses. What?! I should hope the glasses are clean, you are attempting to run a food establishment! This wasn’t even the«straw» that broke the camel’s back. After six or seven additional things going wrong with our orders, we decided to ask to speak with the manager. Our waitress very obviously rolled her eyes and called her over. The manager(short haired blonde) came out a few minutes later and was completely apathetic and unapologetic. She did however mention to us that her shirt was dirty and she was going to change it! Are you kidding me?! The icing on the cake was that they would not split the bill more than two ways, saying it was impossible. Usually this wouldn’t have bothered us, but this time, I freaked out and demanded they figure out way to do it simply because of how AWFUL every single moment was for us. They figured it out. Apparently this place just opened so I am hoping these are just awful kinks they still need to work out. If things don’t change I’d bet my cold chocolate this place goes out of business in under a year.

I like what Dan G. said about this place, «Weird little place that doesn’t quite seem to know what it wants to be.» That aside, I still had a good experience there. My girlfriend and I rolled up late on a Wednesday night, driving in from NYC at around 9:30pm. It was late, and we were glad to see something was still open in town. The place was more or less empty, other than a few couples at the bar area. The food menu was out so we thought«Great! They’re still serving food.» After placing our orders… apparently they’re not and the kitchen had already closed. Well, the couple next to us has chips and fresh guac; could we have that? He checks, and they’ve already thrown out the guac for the night. Damn. So we order drinks and decide to settle for snacks we had in the car. The mojito was ginormous, strong, fresh and amazing. Not the best tap selection, but they did have one or two local brews. Mojito was something like $ 14, which for MTK was apparently acceptable. My brew was $ 6 or whatev. Suddenly, the waiter comes back! The fryers are on and he can fry us something! So we get a couple shrimp empanadas. Hot, doughy and fresh, but super skimpy on the shrimp. But they were tasty. We were super pleased to see that the empanadas were not charged to us on our final bill. Considering they were $ 9 I don’t think that would’ve been worth it for 2 empanadas. But that act deserves a big nod to their manager, as their menus were out though the kitchen was closed. I’d love to come back here and try the food sometime.

This place has atrocious reviews. not sure why, but then again, bf and I did not stop here for the food. But rather, the insane happy hour special. $ 3 Rum Punch, and $ 4 Draft Beers(the Montauk Pale Ale… it’s not that strong of an IPA). The rum punch was a bit too sweet… lots of sugary stuff(sugar, juice) and lots of rum. They have live music. yes even at some 5pm for happy hour. It’s not the best place to grab a drink in Montauk(alas no scene), but the price is right and the bartender is very, very friendly.

Well we tried to eat at La Bodega but failed to gain the attention of the wait staff so after 15 minutes we decided to head down to Bliss Café. I doubt that the poor service and limited menu will serve this establishment well and I would bet it to be a single season Montauk miss.

This is another new spot to MTK as of this summer, right in the middle of town across from the central green. It has sort of a 50’s diner style inside, with outdoor seating lining the place. We went for a late lunch, so it was quiet, but the service was a little frantic and sloppy. The food was good. We shared a few options including the cuban sandwich, the fish sandwich and the fish burrito. Good flavors, fresh ingredients, prepared well. I imagine this place can be a real shit show when it’s crowded, but we made out ok. Would go back, but there are definitely better options nearby.

Service is a little slow sometimes, and the food a bit inconsistent(ordered the same thing, had too much tomato, not enough bacon, etc etc), but its very delicious, and the atmosphere is nice. Only place in Montauk I’ve gone to more than once

Weird little place that doesnt quite seem to know what it wants to be. A crew of us went there for a Sunday PM dinner at 845p. The first thing you’ll take in is the great space and gentle panorama of its lil vista out into the rest of quaint Montauk. Dimly lit with Cuban music playing and a big screen tv with surfer videos… cuz everyone knows Cuban culture is synonymous with… surfing? Straight away the dimly lit part and the Cuban rhythms were another indicator that this place is much a-do about nothing. The menu was itsy bitsy limited. We all looked at it and instinctively flipped it over and then had the same«Really?» reaction/expression. Service was pretty weak but then again thats summer shore towns, all the help flies over from Ireland or something. Food prep too a bit too long. By and large the meals were tasty and we enjoyed our meals. Because the actual entrée menu was so short I had 2 appetizers, the fish bits(Excellent) and the Empanadas(Meh). Others were more or less happy with the meal. So in short the food is just fine but the overall was weird and generally underwhelming.

We have no association with this establishment. It’s just really not worth the trip. over priced items. horrible service. the employees seem to have an attitude(with the exception of the polite young man).plenty of eateries in the area to choose from

Horrible service. Three friends and I came here on a Saturday night because it was the only place without a wait. We stepped inside and the manager(woman with short blonde hair) immediately seated us outside. Then we sat there. And sat there. And. Sat. There. It must have been 15 minutes. Finally I went inside to see the manager casually chatted it up with the bartender, who was looking at her phone. I asked her where our server was and she didn’t apologize, but just mumbled something that she was going to get someone. Then our server arrives. He admitted to us that it was his first day. No problem. We proceeded to order. A friend asked if their fish was fried or grilled. «I don’t know; it’s my first day.» Ok, well can you find out? «Ok.» Another friend asked what was in one of their sauces. He said he’d go check. Meanwhile I use the bathroom, which is really gross. There is no toilet paper; and the manager is still chatting with her friends at the bar. As a manager, wouldn’t you walk around and make sure everything is in order with your restaurant? Our server finally comes back 10 minutes later without our drinks and tells my friend the fish is fried. He also did not answer our question about the sauce. I ask if I can have my sandwich on anything other than white bread. «It’s my first day; I don’t know what kind of bread we have.» No indication that he would ask for us; he just told us he didn’t know. We grew so frustrated with the lack of customer service skills that we cancelled our order and decided to go somewhere else. Their menu was mediocre, their staff was sub-par, and the bathrooms dingy. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Went on the Fourth of July for breakfast. I know they just opened and it was their first Fourth of July so I wasn’t shocked it was a mixed bag. Service was fine even though it was busy. Waffles and pancakes were not up to good breakfast place standards. Marias Bowl and omelette were great. We had some special orders that the server did everything to accommodate. She noticed the weak dishes weren’t finished and took them off the check. Paulette was our server and definitely a pro. We will go back because I think the place has a great vibe and they will get the kinks out. We stopped back for Happy Hour and its a welcome addition to Main Street for a drink also.

Just hit this place a few times this past weekend and I agree with the other reviewers: even when the place had empty tables they make it as if they’re completely swamped and it’s going to be a long wait. But I liked it. I’m not of a fan of their prices($ 32 for 4 beers is definitely not how you want to start your afternoon) but I dug the mix of American and Latin foods and flavors. Some stuff was underseasoned but other stuff was spot-on(like their homefries and their shakes — served in mason jars). If you don’t mind a bowl of granola costing $ 8.50 and a chance that they don’t have coffee first thing in the morning(yeah, it happened to us) — it’s worth checking out.

For starters, we had to go ask the waitress of anyone was going to help us after being left alone for fifteen minutes. Wasn’t like they were busy, just not attentive. Food took forever. And it was pretty terrible. I ordered the roast pork and got three of the dryest, blandest pork medallions I’ve ever seen. Maybe that’s how they do it in PR? The fried plantain cakes, whatever those are called were dry and kind of cold. The veggie burger my wife had was pretty decent, but that’s not credit to the kitchen – they didn’t make it. It’s pre-made. And in case it’s not evident by the fact that it’s a double hot dog sandwich, don’t get the double hot dog sandwich or think it’s two separate hot dogs. Two dogs, one bun. Worst $ 60 we’ve spent on lunch in a long time. Won’t go back.

DONOTGOHERE! Staff is incompetent and the manager/blonde hostess is rude and a racist! We had split the check on a couple of credit cards and they over charged each card, which I guess could be an honest mistake but when we asked the manager/hostess to recheck she got really nasty and rude. And didn’t want to refund the cards but instead threw the money in our face. It’s one thing to mistakenly or sneakily over charge us $ 30.00 but to not be apologetic and instead be nasty and rude is another story. Im a true new Yorker and with an establishment such as la bodega would never survive in the city, with such bad management, sub par food and theivery intentions. This place would close w/o a doubt! So unless you want to be treated terribly and get cheated on your bill. Please do not support this establishment!

Giving 4 stars for the potential. Get the Mofongo — Mashed plaintains and roasted garlic. Be prepared to wait if they are busy. If you are in a rush go somewhere else. Overall it’s a diner menu with some cuban/puerto rican influence. If they can iron out the service issues it’s going to be a great addition to Montauk. They had just opened when we went and it seems like they had an excessive amount of people working but everything took way too long. We will go back again because some of the dishes were very good and it’s like nothing else in montauk but they need to get more efficient quickly.

Wandered down the main drag of Montauk and was drawn in by the old Miami feel of the place. I did a quick Google search and realized they had only been open a week. I was a bit apprehensive at that point, but La Bodega definitely satisfied my craving for a cup of coffee and a pastelito. The toast that came with my egg and potatoes was mouthwatering good. I’m pretty sure it was pan de agua. The coffee made me fall in love with coffee all over again! Only thing that could use a little improvement is the service. Everyone was super nice, but it took a while to get the check. Can’t wait to get back to Montauk and try some more of their dishes.
