Next Door

What a cute, little boutique! Located off of the plaza in Montauk’s busy stretch of restaurants and shops, Next Door was a great find. I hadn’t planned on shopping while I was in Montauk, but I had to check out the store after seeing the cute dresses in their window displays. The owner of the store, who I found out is responsible for all the buying, has amazing taste and a great eye for patterns and prints. I’d describe Next Door’s look and feel as an eclectic mix of elegant, chic and quirky vacation wear. Think Calypso St. Barth meets Free People.
The staff was very intuitive and friendly, leaving me alone when I just wanted to browse and ready to help when I had questions. They even took a dress down from their display for me because it was the only one left in the size I wanted. They’re also very knowledgeable about what they have in their shop. When I was paying for the dress I picked out, the manager mentioned that they also carry a dress from the same collection in a different color and cut, and asked if I wanted to see it. The next time I’m in Montauk, I’ll definitely be stopping by their shop again.
