Pretentious baloney. Fabulous location and view. Food is mediocre with prices that are extraordinary. Service pitiful. Not attentive and super slow. So many better options in Montauk.

Because we were a large group, Scarpetta’s gave us a set menu served family style. They don’t know how to do family style. The portions served were so small some of us didn’t get any. The waiter tried to correct this by bringing a couple more plates of food but it still was not enough. Large groups should stay away.

Came here late afternoon. Bar tender absolutely slayed. Ask for Tom and order something with tequila, he really knows his stuff! Would go back here any day.

First of all good luck getting anyone on the phone to even take a reservation. Reserved a table for 12. Restaurant serves family style for a larger group. The portions were so TINY if was difficult to impossible for everyone to even taste each dish. To expect your guests to divide up MINISCULE amounts of food and not plate the food for them was absolutely ridiculous. The joke at the table was about the«HUNGERGAMES». I would not recommend this restaurant, all 12 of us left hungry and annoyed.

Excellent food! Chef Jon Oh is serving amazing Italian food in a gorgeous setting on the beach. Get there early and have a drink at the fun outdoor bar. Last night we had the short rib pasta, lobster pasta, and black cod dishes. All the appetizers and main courses were perfect. I only wish I didn’t go for more of the prosciutto bread. I couldn’t help myself! The service was fantastic! We loved you Danieli and Helen! We can’t wait to come back!!! Thank you!

Had a great time at Scarpetta Beach and would say it’s one of the fancier restaurants in Montauk. Our party of 9 girls sat at a large, comfortable table with an ocean view. There is also beautiful artwork made out of nautical rope that I found rather unique. I’ve been to Scarpetta in the city many times and thought the food here was just as good. The spaghetti was definitely a hit with our party, but everyone seemed to really love the creamy polenta with truffled mushrooms and the braised short rib with farro risotto even more. The black cod was also a favorite.

Very unprofessional !! Called twice yesterday for a reservation the next day, left a message and no one called back! Called again today to find a voicemail ! Impossible to talk to a human being! This has left a bad taste in my mouth !!

***AWFUL***AVOID***The 6 ‘ladies’ at the front of Scarpetta have a poor attitude and did not seem to care that they sat my party of 4 at 10:45 for a 9:30 birthday dinner reservation. This was a horrible experience. I refuse to return to Scarpetta. ***AWFUL***AVOID***

Ate here 3 nights in a row! Pasta is excellent and dessert was too. View of the beach at night doesn’t hurt.

First time here. Perfect setting with my perfect girl with some nearly perfect food! The yellowtail appetizer was the best tasting thing I’ve ever had in my life! For the main course we had the black cod and the lobster pasta. Both were phenomenal. Even though portions were small we were full by the end of the meal. The chocolate cake was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal and experience. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

Beautiful restaurant, great views, delicious food. Helen was very accommodating with reservations and helpful. Complimentary bottle of champagne since we missed New Year’s Eve was a very nice touch. Not a night to pass on the bread basket either!

Mediocre food, inexplicably terrible service, ridiculously overpriced. We made a reservation for this restaurant on Christmas, and when we get there, we were told that we had to wait, but they wouldn’t give us an estimate on time because«they were busier than expected». I have dined in restaurants all over the world, and I have never been told to just wait indefinitely for a table. When we were sat(~30 minutes later), the waiter tells us that ¾ of the appetizers were out, ¼ of the pasta dishes were out, ¼ of the entrees were out, and ¼ of the desserts were out(the chocolate cake). So I ask if we can just order a la carte because they’re out of a lot of dishes. No. We still had to pay the prix fixe price(A whopping $ 85/person). Although we had a table of 3, the bill ended up being $ 327.99 — without ANY drinks — because they included a 20% gratuity AND a RESORT fee. By the time that we ordered and were got our food, there were only 4 tables around us. Each dish came out at room temperature, and very slowly… we were at the restaurant for two hours! Inexplicable. The first(and only dish) they had to offer was the polenta, which was extremely filling. It was creamy and came in some sort of gravy. Probably the best dish of the night(which is saying little). The second dish I got was cavatelli with mushrooms. Oily with no flavor. The third dish I got was orange-flavored chicken. INEDIBLE. Finally, I ordered an espresso dessert, and the other people at my table ordered bread pudding and panna cotta. We were stuffed from the polenta so we just asked the server to pack the desserts to go. We were extremely surprised to see three little mini cakes from corso coffee(a coffee bar in the same resort) when we got back to our hotel room. Although the cakes were good they were DEFINITELY not what we ordered. We were really upset by our whole experience and decided not to complain to restaurant management that night because they didn’t seem like they cared or were going to do anything about it(another customer who sat near us was complaining that night and the manager told him he was being too sensitive). So we waited until morning to tell the hotel staff. The hotel staff tried to get us a refund but management claimed that they had already given us a discount(a complete lie). As someone who doesn’t typically save receipts(and I made a huge mistake of paying in cash that night because I wanted to leave quickly), it’s now just me vs. what they said. And judging by how they treated other customers that night, I’m not surprised that they’re still trying to rip people off. Do yourself a favor. Don’t ever go to this place, especially not for a holiday dinner.

It takes a lot to give a Restaraunt a negative review but this one deserves it. From the time we arrived until we left the service was awful. The hostess definitely does not know what customer service is. We waited for 35 minutes beyond our seating. Three of the four appetizers were gone and the main desert that we called and asked that they make sure would be there was gone. When asked to switch off the price fixed we were told no. However that changed when a main dish was no longer available. We asked for the manager and again the hostess showed up with the most negative attitude you could imagine. I feel terrible writing a review like this but when you get bad service with a bad attitude it’s well deserved. Boycott this place. We left before we ordered.

This is the nicest restaurant I have been to in the area. I went here with my wife for her birthday and was so happy with it. The restaurant is decorated perfectly and the service is amazing. The somm helped is pick out a great bottle of wine that was right up our alley. Also, our waiter had some great recommendations that turned out to be excellent. My favorite dishes were the spaghetti and the pasta stuffed with short rib. The portions were a bit small, but the food was so good that I didn’t even mind. I mean they are doing you a favor by not having carb coma after your big date with the wife. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

There is another restaurant called Scarpetta in New York and they have few moore locations, like Miami Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. May be that ones are better but I haven’t tried those. But based on Scarpetta Beach the Hamptons experience I’m not sure that I will in the nearest future. Located in the Gurney’s Inn, it’s the place where you’ll finally go if staying there or near. We waited for the service forever. Bread came with appetizers. The olive oil and tomato paste like tapenade were pretty good, as well as small warm sandwich with ham and melted cheese. We ordered Fluke Crudo for appetizer and a Crispy Fritto Misto. The first one was delicious but couldn’t be seen without microscope — too tiny even for an appetizer portion, one bite. As for the second one– too much of calamari, almost no shrimps, boquerones — that are anchovies in reality — were to be imagined I guess, we couldn’t find any. Too much of the breading and pretty tasteless dish. Then our choice was Black Farfalle Frutti di Mare. That was all right. Not too bad, but nothing to dream about. Seafood there was not much though. And after we had Duck and Foie Gras Ravioli. That one definitely could be better if they put real foie gras in it, not the fairy mousse. And too much of the dough. We didn’t want their dessert after all that. So I can’t say anything here. The wine list is divided into two parts: Italy and Around the world. The first part looks more impressive. All too pricey, but it’s Hamptons, no wonder. The ocean view from the terrace was the only thing that we really enjoyed, cause our room at the hotel where is located the restaurant itself overlooked the parking lot, not the ocean as they promised when we reserved. But you need something more delicious and appetizing besides the oceanview when you go out for dinner, don’t you?! And sometimes I wonder– why if the service is really lousy the waiter still expect the client to leave him a tip. Once when we called for our server– he was listening to somebody talking at another table and just waived on us, meaning: «wait a minute while I’m busy with something more important here»… The check was over 300 $. 45 $ or more for that he waived on us and didn’t bring anything on time?! Well, don’t expect that from me I tell you that.

4.5 stars. I’m a big fan of Scarpetta. I typically get the spaghetti and basil but this time I felt adventurous. We went with a group of people for work, so we were able to have a taste of a few items. Appetizers 1) Polenta with Mushrooms– this was the star dish of the appetizers. Right texture taste and everything! Spot on! 2) Short Rib — very delicious 3) yellowtail — perfect sauce and crunch 4) tuna — was missing some sort of sauce, would have liked to have more zing Dinner 1) halibut — My GF thought it was missing something. 2) Bass — my manager thought the taste was spot on 3) fruitti de mare — this was good but was missing a few things. I would have liked to taste a little bit more zing, and a more noodle like texture. Perhaps fennel or some sort of linguine could work? Still very good though! Highly recommend this place for the ambiance and for the shi-shiness. I thought the service was excellent, make sure to call ahead and make reservations.

I am of the old school Gurneys fan club but that can’t stop me from visiting, even daily. Recently tried out Scarpetta out of curiosity and I was super impressed. One hostess wasn’t super friendly and is definitely hailing from the new pretentious Gurneys side, but what can you expect? Had to wait for a table for 20 minutes when there were plenty of open tables. They explained that it was because of short staffing. Fair, but slightly frustrating. The views are ridiculous, even at night. Sound of the ocean is so calming! Bring a sweater at night. Always chilly outside. My husband and I split the Braised Short Ribs of Beef with veggie and farro risotto. Was afraid it would be a little small to split but it was fair. Tried my dad’s creamy polenta with fricassee of truffled mushrooms… Wow. This was amazing. So creamy and he presentation was nice. For my entrée I had the Cavatelli with guanciale, fava purée, tomatoes, goat cheese & mint. I was slightly nervous about the mint but it was perfect with the dish. My pasta was the perfect amount of rich and simple. Portion was spot on. For dessert I was so excited to see Panna Cotta. I love me some PC. Big portion! The panna cotta while plentiful at the bottom of the bowl, it was COVERED in a guava soup. There was a thick layer of guava soup on top and to be honest, I think it would have been way better with only a drizzle of the soup. The guava overpowered the simplicity of the panna cotta. It turned a lighter dessert into a super rich and almost sickening sweet treat. I finished it anyway, obviously. Just a note! Overall, can’t wait to return. Love my some Gurneys.

Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in quite a while. My wife and her family grew up in Montauk(and my wife and I got married at the old Gurneys), so when Gurneys dropped this spot in overlooking the water, it seemed like it was legit. After all, Scott Conant is the chef in charge… My wife, father in law, and I stopped here for dinner last weekend. We sat outside, overlooking the beach, on a very nice night. The atmosphere is great, and the service was also top notch. Friendly waitress who naturally talked with us about the«locals» about the past and growing up in Montauk. +Bread On point. A basket with different types of bread, including a cheese-filled bread, which was fantastic. Big indicator. +Appetizer My wife and I split the ribs, and they were delicious. Hot, cooked beautifully soft, and flavored perfectly. We couldn’t ask for a better way to start the meal. +Entrée I opted for the Black Farfalla pasta with shrimp and lobster. It was DELICIOUS. Seasoned well, portion size was perfect(seriously), and the seafood was awesome. The lobster was fresh and tasty, and the sauce was the icing on the cake. +Dessert I got the marscapone and WOWOWOWOWOWOW. LOVELY. Soft and tasty, and the perfect sweet ending to an amazing dinner. Paired well with the espresso. This MAY be the best spot to eat a lavish meal in Montauk — I know it’s been my best meal yet!

Grew up in Long Island and avoided the Hamptons because there was no proper beach club. Well now there is. Well done LDV. Another great venue. I will be back often. Offers a proper beach menu with a weekend Bbq that’s fantastic.

Scarpetta is part of Gurneys new make over. From the second you walk in your’re happy: valet, great décor with a modern beachy feel, and water front views. Our waiter James was fantastic; Very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and great personality. Their bread basket and spread are one of the best around. We enjoyed the frito misto a mix of tempora style calamari, shrimp, vegetables and anchovies. My wife had the homemade cavatelli with tomatoes, ricotta, garlic and mint(nice twist). I had the the homemade tagliatelle with tomato, asparagus, garlic and lobster. Both were light and delish. We finished with the lava cake with caramel gelato and butterscotch sauce. And don’t forget the great cocktail menu! If they stay consistent with this visit they will keep 5 stars not only from me but I’m sure many others.
