This was the base for our week-long Montauk adventure, and we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque, ideal location. This cozy bed and breakfast is located right on Old Montauk Highway, which is about a 3-minute drive or 10-minute bike ride into the main heart of town. Being somewhat off the beaten path, we had pristine beaches almost all to ourselves! We spent days on the beach, and maybe saw 15 – 20 other people spread out across half a mile or so. It almost felt like our private beach — not to mention that Sunrise Guest House is across the street from the beach! We stayed in Room #1, which had a bedroom, living area, and access to the outside patio; they even chained off our portion of the patio as «private», mostly as the door opened into our room but made us feel VIP! Mick was a perfect host — this is an ideal place where if you want everything taken care of, but minimal contact or questioning. Continental breakfast was ready daily from 8 – 1030 with English muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, coffee/tea/juice, and did I mention killer views? There are only 4 rooms on the property, so it still feels cozy and personal. Not to mention killer prices for the area, especially during the summer vacation season. We are definite Montauk fans, and any time we return, we’ll be back to the Sunrise!

Mick and Jess(The Innkeepers) were very kind, and great hosts. On arrival our room had a toilet that wasn’t working, they upgraded us to a much bigger/nicer room for free. Which even had an electric fireplace! =) The continental breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs, lots of fruits, breads, pastries, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, peanut butter etc. It was very good and we stuffed ourselves each morning before our adventures. The rooms were very quaint and homey feeling. We really liked it A LOT. We will definitely go back if we were staying in Montauk again. A+!

We are midway through our stay here for a summer getaway and I am so thrilled to have found this gem. My Midwestern roots wanted a nice, quaint bed and breakfast, but having lived in Brooklyn for six years I feared I could not find a bnb that would respect that I wanted to quietly sit and enjoy the scenery without making lots of small talk. I’m trying to be on vacation from living with 8million+ people after all… Thankfully, Sunrise bnb owners provided everything we were looking for: an inviting home with zero pressure to chat if we didn’t want to. My own introverted tendencies aside, you couldn’t ask for better beach access. Sunrise bnb is exactly as pictured: across the street from a super quiet part of the shore that makes you feel like you’ve won the NY area beach lottery. Especially appreciated were the beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas left on the porch for us to use. Highly recommended!
