I’ve ordered delivery from here twice in the past couple weeks. last week I ordered a large margherita pie. it was good. great delivery service. I thought maybe Da Vinci’s could be my new goto pizza delivery spot. I was at a three-star rating in my head at that time and wanted to give Da Vinci’s more of a chance with their pizza. then last night I ordered an extra large mama’s pie and a salad. when I opened the box, the pizza was all mushed together(see pic,) like the box had been dropped on it’s side. I wish I would have noticed before the driver left. I stretched it back out to salvage it as best I could — it was still a mess. I was starving so I decided to just make it work. as i began to eat, i noticed the pie was lukewarm at best. so yeah, no more Da Vinci’s.

I’ve been here a bunch of times while I was in high school. I went back recently and it hasn’t changed much. Good but not particularly incredible pizza, maybe a tad pricey, but a reasonable option for a quick bite in the Montclair area. Very casual ambiance. Bathrooms were not very well kept.

My friends and I took our babies(4 of us) in the strollers to get some lunch. The man behind the counter(possibly the owner I’m not sure) was upset that we all had our strollers and asked us to fold them up and put them in the corner because they take up too much room. He offered up one high chair. There were four babies and one was sleeping in the stroller. We tried our best to make the arrangements. One of us went to the counter and bought some pizza. We used our debit card and that seemed to aggravated him(going on about«how people don’t spend money they have today they only charge it»). He followed us back into the sitting area and told us to move the strollers again. So we finally said we’re going to leave this isn’t working out. Defiantly not going back, especially with a stroller and a baby!

I think they changed owners a few years ago. It used to be better, but now it’s just OK. There are better places around for pizza, as I don’t consider this to be that flavorful. However, I’m not opposed to eating here if in a pinch. Being in Upper Montclair and with the whole brick oven M.O., it’s a little pricey.

I was excited to see a brick oven at this place. Unfortunately pizza wasn’t that fabulous. I still might come back after 2 tries if I am in the area, but it’s definitely not worth of special trip. I had much worse pizza in montclair, but there are better choices too. Also what kind of pizza spot runs out of plain slices at noon? Isn’t it the most popular one?

How difficult is it to keep a place clean? Went for lunch; guy working was on his cellphone. Put on hold, took my order, then picked up his call again. Meanwhile, the place is disgusting; dirty. Looks like the place hasn’t been cleaned in months(years?). Maybe he should spend more time cleaning and taking care of the restaurant than in the phone. Atmosphere was like Mars; it didn’t have any. Plus the pizza was fair at best. Don’t bother with this one. Will never go back.

The cheese steak didn’t taste like a cheese steak and the pesto chicken panini was sloppy and greasy. We got delivery, so there isn’t much else for us to say.

Delivery took over an hour. Pasta was OK, not much flavor. Garlic Knots are also not memorable. The marinara sauce that comes with it is AWFUL. So watery!

I am surprised by the low reviews. I had this pizza yesterday for the first time and it was absolutely the best I’ve had in a long time. The sauce had delicious flavor and the cheese was gooey. It was a perfect combo of sauce and cheesiness!!! I will definitely be going back there!!!

Pizza is always doughy and way over priced. The old man who owns it is rude and has no customer service. Will not be returning when these issues should be standards. Pizza also sits out a longtime and looks old.

Placed an order for delivery around lunch time. 45 minutes later I get a call back saying that they can’t deliver because my address is outside their delivery area. Why they waited 45 minutes to tell me that is beyond me. So I now need to call someplace else and wait another 45 minutes for delivery. Unless you enjoy being hungry and annoyed, stay away from this place.

FOOD: — buffalo chicken pizza(meh, i’ve definitely had better) — ranch pizza(crispy chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing. interesting but I wouldn’t order this again) — white pizza(BOMB!) SERVICE: Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the kid who was working last Sunday afternoon but he was very personable WOULD I RETURN? Yes… but only when I’m craving white pizza.

Avoid if possible. The food is subpar. I ordered a regular crust and thin crust. Both were EXACTLY the same. I also ordered a panini. It was under cooked and messy. I gave this place two tries and they failed horribly on both.

As a new resident in Montclair, I really want to find _our_pizza spot. After giving them a few chances, I have to say that Da Vinci’s is out of the running. They have a lot of things going for them with the brick oven and creative pie’s… but the execution was lacking. We had relatively slow service on delivery and the pizza was just average. If you go here, do not stray from the pizza on the menu. The salads and garlic bread were borderline inedible.

Da vinci’s pizza is wonderful. Pizza tastes great, staff is nice, and location is amazing. Nothing else to say. I would totally recommend it.

My fiancé and I are pretty surprised by the relatively low rating here. I grew up in North Bergen where we are notorious for having amazing pizza. Having lived in Montclair for almost 3 years, we’ve tried every pizza place several times(but avoid Da Vinci’s based on the low rating) trying to find a taste of that great pizza again. I’ve been sorely disappointed by all of them and so we finally decided to try Da Vinci’s. We loved it. I said I wouldn’t give a good review until we had it at least 3 times. Well now after 5 visits(always take-out… the seating is not the most appealing), I’ve gotta say that I think this is the best pizza in Montclair. Great crust and sauce and they put care into their toppings. i’m so glad we found this place. Don’t avoid based on the reviews. Give it a try and judge for yourselves.

I just moved to Upper Montclair and was looking forward to trying my new neighborhood pizzeria. Having grown up in NJ, I know the home-run staples that make a Pizzeria«The Pizzeria» to go to. I ordered the penne vodka, and I have to sadly say it was THEWORST version I’ve ever tasted. It was all cream, with no taste at all. I came back again, to try the pizza. and give this place a chance. It was tasteless, and all dough. It’s too bad, the location is perfect, and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

Nice staff, but the pizza was burnt and crunchy. Prices were reasonable though. I don’t recommend it, though

Not good, the pizza is very expensive for slices, you’ll pay 4 dollars for a slice with chicken on it, not to mention the chicken is rancid. The plain slice was much better. I got a cup of water and it had a ton of black dots floating in it, gross. Also the whole restaurant looked like it needed a clean. Employees were nice. I probably won’t be back.

Good, but not great. Da Vinci’s is a local pizza joint hidden off to the side of Valley Road in Montclair. With two brick ovens, Da Vinci has the ability to put out some quality pizza with a variety of options. Sadly, the food just doesn’t deliver. If you’re looking for a slice or two, bear in mind that they’ve probably been made several hours earlier. This is one of those places that you go to if you’re in the mood for pizza and you have no other options.
