I initially found my way to Rolfing because of some back and shoulder issues I had been experiencing. Based on things I’d read, I showed up expecting some kind of painful massage, but strangely enough, in my ten sessions of Rolfing with David, I never once experienced anything I’d call ‘pain’. The bodywork certainly helped, but just as valuable was the education I received in the practices of breathing, sitting, and standing, and in practicing overall bodily awareness. That might sound mundane, but really, if you stop and consider how much time you spend breathing, sitting, and standing, it might not be too surprising that making changes in these areas can yield far-reaching results. The sessions weren’t cheap, but I personally found Rolfing to be a worthwhile investment of time and money. In addition, my sessions with David were frequently both amusing and enlightening, and so if you’re looking for an experienced Rolfer yourself, I whole-heartedly recommend giving David a call.
