This is a strange circle of hell… an Einstein franchise in the basement of College Hall. Unfortunately there IS a lot of people here at lunchtime… the line snakes out the door and moves at a snail’s pace. The fault lies principally with the staff. While some of the personalities are endearing(the bossy lady who mans the espresso machine, the sweet ladies who are at the cash register), most of the staff is WOEFULLY inept, poorly trained and supervised. Watching the strange, constipated ballet of your order being taken, executed, and packaged is a model of inefficiency. While the College Hall store that it replaced was rather humble and not nearly as glamourous, it was a mostly«do it yourself» operation, and all you had to do was pay and leave. This is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with corporate fast food. That said, since most of the food production has been pre-fabed and dumbed down, the consistency of product is okay, and certainly fills the void for an area of campus with few options. Though it doesn’t make me miss my days at MSU…
