Unparalleled customer service. I bought glasses here for the first time several weeks ago. I love the frames but unfortunately, they don’t love the bridge of my nose and despite numerous re-​adjustments, I cannot wear the glasses. No problem with Mark and Dave. Despite the high cost of the frames and my lenses, they took the glasses back and spent 45 minutes helping me choose another frame. All with a smile and a great sense of humor. And they even stamped my parking garage ticket!
The selection is also fantastic, and I look forward to using the eye exam services next time.

Had the best contact lens exam. The service was incredible. I feel badly about what I accepted as a standard of service in the past. They truly raised the bar. The optometrist really took time to figure out my needs before discussing my options. Very pleased.

Eye Candy is a great store. First of all, the owners Mark and Dave are super nice. They don’t ever make you feel like you are rushed, only that you are welcome and that customers are highly valued. I have had them go above and beyond what I would expect repeatedly. Recently I had a prescription given to me by another doctor and filled at Eye Candy. It was terrible, but it was the doctor’s fault. I went to Dr. Kim at Eye Candy and had the best eye exam of my life. She noticed cataracts developing which the other doctor didn’t even mention! She is professional, intelligent, observant, personable, and got my prescription right on the dot. Eye Candy replaced the badly prescribed lenses for me gratis. Amazing service.
I’ve been a repeat customer for years and will continue to be so. Other retailers could learn a thing or two from Eye Candy. Moreover, I have switched optometrists and am having my family do so as well.

So, let me say this about that… Hands down the BEST eyeglass buying experience I have ever, ever, ever had. I have been wearing glasses for 30+ years and picking out new frames is one of the most torturous and glorious experiences I go through every few years. «I love them, I hate them, I love them, I hate them» I went back twice before actually purchasing my new glasses so I could shop in two different moods and style of clothing. The first time Mark helped me and I was almost ready to buy and when I said I would be back another day, he did not pressure me and was happy to have helped.
On my next visit Dave was there and he accommodated my neurosis of «no, not these, maybe these, but maybe those, what do YOU think?» So, not only are they patient, they have a great sense of style and a great eye to help match the glasses to the person and the person to the glasses.
Glasses cost money, good glasses cost a little more money. I think that the good glasses that I got are the right price for the quality of glasses delivered.

This is my second review of Eye Candy Opticians after making my second purchase of eye glasses. As with the first experience, the proprieters treat you like you are their only customer. I must have tried on 25 – 30 frames before narrowing the choices down to 5. I asked if they could hold the 5 until I could come back with a friend to help decide. When I did return, the 5 frames were ready for me to try on. The ordering is easy and I received the glasses in 3 days.
The selection of frames is vast but it is the customer service and exquisite work that keeps me coming back. Thanks!

After being kicked out at another optician’s store (!!!), we were so pleasantly surprised by how nice Mark and Dave were. Mark spent a really long time on a weekend day helping my husband find a pair of frames that fit his face and style.
The prices were very reasonable, but the real reason why we will return is for the customer service. They really know what they are doing there. They had great selection and seem to really take pride in their work.
I really felt like they took their time making sure that my husband’s glasses fit right. While we were there, we saw someone come back in for an adjustment, and Mark quickly helped them out and made sure that they were satisfied with the fit.
Mark and Dave are really nice and funny people too. It was a real pleasure to hang out with them and chat with them.
We will definitely come back there (maybe even just to say hello!) It’s great to have good neighbors like Mark and Dave in Montclair. I’m so glad that there are other reviewers that agree!

I’ve been going to Dave and Mark’s shop since 2004. I had seen a pair of frames I especially liked in the window of another shop in Montclair and came in what was then «Church Street Opticians» to compare. Their extraordinary niceness and amazing stylish collection stole me away! I’ve been coming back ever since – even though I live farther away now.

First off, I have received so many compliments on the frames I selected at Eye Candy –even from other opticians! I have very bad eye sight, and eyeglasses are a permanent accessory for me. I have spent more money for super stylish frames of great quality. They do have quite a range of prices on their inventory. I’ve sometimes thought, maybe I’d save money at a chain like Pearl Vision. Well, I recently called to compare the prices of my Rx lenses and found that they would be about $ 60 more at Pearl Vision. Do not let their high style and location fool you; Eye Candy’s prices are very competitive!
Next, their expertise is irreplaceable. Mark and Dave are both knowledgeable, talented and trusted opticians. I have come to them for advice many a time. They have given me valuable explanations that help me understand my specific visual needs and why certain characteristics of frame and lenses may serve me better than others. They also are ready with excellent referrals when needed.
I am able to return to them for my eye care from a good hour’s travel away because they are so accommodating. My lenses are ordered ahead of time and they cut them for me when I come in. So, my new glasses are in-​hand in one single trip!
All-​in-​all, Eye Candy is a personable family-​run optical shop where there is no compromise in using them. Their selection is world-​class, their skill expert, and their friendliness and willingness to help outstanding. I highly recommend them!

Sick of the same angular black Prada frames everyone seems to have these days? Check this place out! Look at catalogs — tell them what you have in mind and somehow they will find a frame to match.
Mark definitely knows what he’s doing: I had a very specialized request for unique frames. Although I was definitely a bit nervous about how they would turn out without seeing a sample of his idea, he looked at me and said «Trust me, they’re gonna look terrific– you have to trust me on this.» He was right!
Had a problem with the frame day after purchase and they were SO cool about trying to get it fixed. Cool, friendly guys who know what they are doing. Highly recommend them.

Please note: weekends are insane in regard to number of customers, so if you want to spend time looking and asking questions go during the week, preferabely during the day.
