I ordered some cookies as a gift and put wrong street address. I have called the 1800 number which doesn’t work, I have sent numerous emails, no answer. They make it so hard to do business with. I never got the opportunity to try their goods. Won’t be back. Lost $ 20.

a good assortment of homemade cookies, not to fancy. i went specifically for the black and white cookie, and the texture/icing was about right. decent size too. it just wasn’t on the fresh side though but definitely not stale either. i also tried the baclava, but that was a complete miss. it was rather soggy not flaky, and the filling wasn’t moist.

I went into Gimme Jimmy’s for the first time over the summer. I was in West Orange visiting family and went into Montclair one night to meet up with a college friend who recommended this place. We were meeting up at 10pm so we just wanted a nice place to maybe grab some coffee and dessert and sit outside and catch up(since it had been like 4 years). The atmosphere outside was awesome. A very cool street with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the nice summer evening. I got a couple of heath cookies and a thing of coffee. The cookies were delicious, some of the best I have had. The coffee on the other hand was just awful. I forget what kind I got, but it was just disgusting. I wound up throwing ¾ of it in the trash.

If heaven is on earth, it’s located in Montclair and it’s called Gimmee Jimmy’s! During a recent trip back east, we were introduced to this delish establishment. And, yes, the cookies are lovely, but that’s not where the loveliness ends. We also enjoyed light and luscious lemon crepes — sweet and tangy and soft and melt in your mouth goodness. And don’t get me started on those red velvet cupcakes! You can taste the cream cheese in the frosting, which isn’t an overly sweet sludge thrown on a dry cupcake like some places do. No, the cupcake is light, moist, and tender. And those little chocolate chips hiding in there — oh yeah, baby! They are perfection, and they have ruined me for everything else! If you are in the area, run — don’t walk — to Jimmy’s. It will change you life!

Everything in Jimmy’s display case looks so delicious. They had cookies and cupcakes and croissants and regular cake and puddings and more! We had just stuffed ourselves across the street, though, so we didn’t want to go too crazy. We ordered two each of the Chocolate Peanut Butter and English Toffee cookies as well as a chocolate croissant. I ate the cookies first and I was really disappointed. I thought they tasted like they were a few days old … When I buy a cookie at a bakery, I want it to taste like it came out of the oven that day. The flavors were pretty decent, but I couldn’t get over that«almost-stale» feeling. The croissant was more like a filled donut than a croissant. That being said, I liked how it tasted and would probably eat one again if it was put in front of me. I just wouldn’t call it a croissant!

Pretty good stuff. A pound of cookies will set you back about $ 10. Make sure to get an assortment because they have a great variety. My favorites were the coconut pecan, English toffee, and chocolate chip walnut. Mmm… They also have a wide selection of other baked goods including cupcakes. I’ll definitely have to try their red velvet cupcake next time.

Just because the cookies are crack-laced patties of buttery goodness doesn’t mean that the cakes and other oddly embellished offerings(did they decorate the cupcakes in a drunken rage?) are also swoon-worthy. Because they aren’t. But no matter. Treat yourself to a bunch: English toffee, white chocolate with cherry, M&M, and oatmeal. Something I will try next week, now that there’s an Applegate outpost just a few yards down: a Gimmie Jimmie-Applegate sandwich.
