Our son was ten, uncoordinated, and hated sports when he was first started fencing. We put him in it to try the free first class because we were desperate to put him in something to occupy his time and to get him moving. Well it has been a success story since. The coaches are strict but involved and care about the kids. The other review about coach Suzanne being a diva is off putting and definitely uncalled for. Anyway, our son is now 11 and stuck with fencing for a year. We have seen such a big improvement in our son, he always felt so awkward with sports but now he had improved so much in fencing he is more confident and willing to try other sports. He is now in tennis too and playing more games with the at kids school. I attribute this to the positive environment that the coaches provide. It is great to see my son actually engaged in a sport instead of video games. We are very thankful to have tried this place and thumbs up to the coaches :)

This place needs AIRCONDITIONING! We were here this past weekend for a fencing competition, and it felt like we were in an oven. It got up to 90 degrees, but that did not include a packed venue inside. At least there was a cold water cooler, large parking lot, fans blowing inside, and clean bathroom.

Our son is about to start his third month of lessons here at Inland Fencing Academy. He is loving his classes! As the other review stated the owners are wonderful with the students and totally know what they are doing. They are not pushy to sell you gear– they have gear for the kids to use and class prices are very reasonable! It is a joy watching my son having fun and learning a really wonderful and unique sport. Last night we went to their swashbuckler movie night as well– so much fun!

Both my 10 year old girl and 12 year old boy have been going here for a few months. The changes in my Son are wonderful. Coach Paul is a 100% class act. His attitude is great and he’s great with the kids. He is completely involved with the kids and treats them with respect. The woman who works here(sorry, I don’t know her name) is extremely good to the kids as well. Both stress technique and are professional yet fun. It is a VERYPOSITIVE place for kids and has taught my kids a ton of focus. The building looks very industrial and may turn off the yuppies, but the people and program are great. I would suggest this place to anyone. We signed up for just month at first… Just to try it. The kids insisted on staying. Great people, great prices, easy locations. I hope it does well in the new location! Thanks Inland Fencing Academy!
