I’m new to the area and went in with a welcome wagon coupon. Not only did they schedule me for the same day, my poor tresses were screaming for a little TLC and TLC they got. Anna Marie did a fantastic job of trimming my dead ends (there were a TON) and bringing my naturally curly hair back to life. She also showed me what she was doing and I’m hoping to be able to attempt some of it at home one day.
I also noted that the staff seems to be in tandem with one another, which is great to see. When Anna Marie was finished with my hair, the gentleman working there (I’m assuming it was Mark but I dunno) stopped by and said «those look amazing.» My favorite part of the day however was when I went to pay. thanks to my coupon, my total was a big, fat zero dollars. If the service level continues to be this satisfactory, I am SOOOOO going back often – and for full price!

Rudest place ever. Their record keeping and attitude is the worst, I have a gift cert and I won’t go back they were that rude. They canceled my appointment since the stylist couldn’t make it and when I tried to reschedule it was impossible. It’s dirty in there and I will NOT be going back

I love this salon! All of the people who work there are extremely kind and from what I see very talented. I go to Mark, the owner, I usually go to see him after I have butchered my bangs and have not taken the best care of my hair and I always feel like a million bucks after I leave. He is also a supremely nice person. I honestly can’t say enough good things about these people. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased a GroupOn for this salon and it was money well spent! I was at first hesitate of «cheating» on my hairdresser, but I’m exhausted driving an hour to get my hair colored and cut.
My appointment was with Andrea and her positive burst of energy made me feel welcomed at the salon, right away. I had a single color process, cut, and blow out. I was amazed how Andrea was able to work with two clients and keep calm. I will definitely be returning back to Mark Christopher Salon:)

Mark is amazing. He took his time and really gave me an amazing hair cut. I let him do whatever he wanted since i was cutting quite a great deal of length off. He explained what he thought would compliment my face shape before he cut anything off and I was so pleased with my cut. Everyone loved the cut.

I have never felt so comfortable at a salon in my life. No one cringed at my straggly split ends, and as soon as I walked in I was offered something to drink. The staff there are young and hip, and dressed impeccably. They are so nice to you and are all smiles and jokes. Usually when I go to hair salons, there is a swirl of different languages used around me and gossip all over the place, but there was none of that here.
The place is a bit hard to find because its hidden behind a tree, so consider yourself warned. I discovered this place through Groupon. Ann Marie cut, styled, blow-​dried, and straightened my long, curly, unkempt hair, and she did suchhh a wonderful job. She’s very sweet and will genuinely listen to what you want and will get it done. I’m a little sad that the prices are high, and the Groupon is for new clients onlly, so I may have to break open my piggy bank for the next time I treat my tresses here.

I have had my hair butchered in New Jersey for the last 8 months. Its hard to find a good male stylist. If you want a barber cut go to a barber, if you want a great stylish haircut ask for Andrea. She is awesome and gave me I think possibly the best haircut I ever had! Bring cash for a tip!

I’ve lived in many states across the US and finally moved back to my ‘roots’ in NJ… when I moved away from NJ I left a comfort zone of a set stylist for my hair… after a decade of being away-​I was never entirely satisfied with the outcome of my hair and I take it very seriously. I have a short hairdo and its hard to find a stylist who ‘gets what I want’ and actually cares to make it happen. I was recommended to Mark Christopher Salon in Montclair and was given Anna Marie. ‘Cut’ to the chase-​that girl gets it done and listens to me! I work in corporate entertainment in NYC and when the President and CEO (of thousands of employees) recognizes me for my ‘awesome’ hair is pretty fabulous! She will work with your ideas and ‘makes it work’ both in cut and color. Not to mention the rest of the staff are SUPER friendly and welcoming! Mark and John are the sweetest and whoever you choose there-​I promise you won’t be let down!

Cozy salon. Anne marie took my brassy hair into choc brown. Shiny. Got eyebrws tinted. Excell blowdry by Johnnie. I made an another appt in 6 weeks. If u want an intimate salon this is the place. Prices are fab for the quality.

I love Mark Christopher Salon! Everyone who works here is kind and professional. They all know what they are doing especially when it comes to hair! From the moment I walked in they made me feel at home. The salon is beautifully decorated and the products are great. I came in for a single process dye, deep conditioning and haircut and was amazed by the results. When I came in my hair was 50 shades of blonde/​brown/​black, you name it! Since my roots were coming out and I really wanted to just get my hair down to one color, I said what the heck, I’ll make an appointment. Annamarie who mixed the color did a fantastic job. She got it to the color I wanted which was a chocolate, chestnut brown. The guy who did my shampoo and conditioning gave the best head massage a person could ask for and I was left feeling relaxed and in hopeful anticipation for my cut. Annamarie made my usually thick and wavy hair light and manageable. When she was done, I was beyond pleased with the results! As I was leaving, I told her my sister was interested in coming to get hair services done as well and she didn’t hesitate to give me a 20% off discount card for her to use as a 1^st time customer. I would definitely come back!

I had full highlights and a cut today at MCS. Andrea did the cut and color. She was assisted by Johnny. Not only are they both talented, but personality and personal style to boot.
My hair is baby fine and long. I’m always unhappy with my cuts, but Andrea was excellent. She knows what she’s doing and also took the time to discuss what color would work best for me.
The owner Mark Christopher was in the Salon while I was getting my hair done. I can see he’s talented, and again, a pleasant personality with great style.
I’m very pleased with the results, and recommend anyone to try this salon.

I have what can only be described as «massive» hair. It’s thick, curly in most places and straight in some others. My work has me moving every few years and generally it takes me 12 months to find someone who is skilled enough to know what to do without embarrassing me to the core. (Hello, why would someone RAZOR a client’s curly hair unless you WANTED it to look like a rat had chewed on it?) I found Mark by researching curly-​haired stylists and dear Lord of hair gods am I grateful. He is funny, fun to be with, on time, and always makes my hair look great and has me leaving laughing. He also does highlights, which is usually a half-​day ordeal — literally three hours or more (this is because of my hair, not Mark). Until I came to Mark, I dreaded this task and would put it off until the last minute possible. I am an active person and am always on deadline. But honestly, I laugh so much during my visits I actually look forward to it. He’s SO talented. I’ve had people stop me on the street in LA and Manhattan, asking me where I got my hair cut.
