This is always my stop when I am feeling hungry and I am around the area. The staff is extremely nice, the food is AWESOME. Everyone is very friendly. Even during the lunch rush the line goes by very quickly. You can order something and customize it very easily and choose what bread you would like. The chicken panini is the best, perfectly toasted. 10⁄10.

My office consistently orders from Sandwich Theory. We have searched and tried different places for breakfast/lunch, but we always come back here. Everybody agrees Sandwich Theory is the best Marcello came in himself today to deliver our breakfast(platter of bagels&pastries, bowl of fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice) and I remembered I had not written a review for this amazing deli yet! While everything from their sandwiches to their breakfast burritos is amazing, I really appreciate their salads. I feel like places either have really good sandwiches or really good salads, never both. But this place has it all! Even great coffee!

I order here often with my co-worker for lunch. The Cobb salad is my favorite item on the menu. We order here so often that I must of tried almost everything here and I have yet to be unsatisfied.

Wonderful small sandwich shop with great teas and coffee. Room to sit, better to sit outside throughout Montclair. Broccoli Rabe sandwich special is fantastic, quality bread, fresh ingredients, employees that smile and enjoy interactions with each other and the customers — and an attentive owner, Marcello, who keeps his system working well. Highly recommended!

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Healthy lunch and breakfast options. They also offer delivery. I usually go with a veggie omelet or a turkey rueben. One of the best in the area.

One of my favorite local sandwich shops. The food is a little on the pricier side for this category, but it is well worth it. Their food is fresh, tasty and interesting. Daily special soups, salads, sandwiches and wraps. The grilled green beans and blackened chicken salad are two of my favorites!

Sandwich Theory offers a great, diverse menu without it being too overwhelming. There’s something for everyone and everything is fresh. Perfect spot for brunch or lunch if you need something quick. Looking forward to returning to try other items on the menu.

Another review says reliable, I think that is true. They don’t have gimmicky products with secret sauces and 20 kinds of meat and four cheeses, etc. but these usually work better on paper than they do in practice anyway. What you get at Sandwich Theory is a well constructed and tasty sandwich. They have a good variety of soups, home made salads(of the egg, chicken, and vegetable variety), and fresh squeezed juices, and the staff are friendly and helpful as well. It is a solid experience. The cuban sandwich is excellent. I’ll be back for another one soon.

I go here about every weekend because they do have really good sandwiches. Their blackened chicken salad is also really good as well. Only downsides are that they are slightly overpriced, and they are closed on Sundays and close early on Sat.

I love this place. Never had a bad sandwich here. Hands down one of the best buffalo chicken wraps I ever had. They have good pasta salads, brownies & homemade iced teas at the counter.

My favorite form of food is a sandwich and this place is my favorite to get them from. The breakfast items and salads are also excellent. There hasn’t been anything I ordered that I didn’t like.

Good, reliable sandwich place. In a great location. Not crazy about the lack of silverware and real plates when you dine-in. Take out is fine. Fast and polite service… Note: Please use mustard on your Cuban sandwich — Russian dressing!!!

I really love this shop. The staff are generally friendly and the food is consistently good. My only gripe is that the owner has been saying for years that they’re going to be open on Sundays but so far, no such luck.

I ordered breakfast from Sandwich Theory and had it delivered. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come so I would say it’s pretty fast. I ordered a healthy wrap –four egg whites, roast turkey, havarti in a whole wheat wrap and a mediterranean omelet — fresh mozzarella, roasted red pepper and spinach with wheat toast glazed with butter + a diet coke + fresh fruit. The bill came to 17.87 and I gave 15% tip. Honestly the food was ordinary. Not that great to be honest. I think this is a okay fast food place that delivers if you’re not up to go to a diner or any other café to get breakfast.

I’ve tried a few things on the menu and I’m never disappointed. They use fresh ingredients, have different specials every day, the establishment is super clean, and the staff is friendly. Most recently, I had the goat salad(leafy greens, walnuts, goat cheese, & tomatoes) with grilled chicken. It was great!!! I’d totally recommend this spot to anyone!

Decent sandwich shop, I’d come again but it wasn’t anything really special. We had buffalo chicken wrap, a turkey sloppy joe and a bagel and cream cheese.

*Cuban(very good! The pickles, ham, pork, and mustard were all there; the flavors were good but something was missing from this sandwich to give it an extra zing; regardless though, it did not disappoint at all) *black forest ham & gruyère(loved this! the ham and gruyère and dijon mustard were great together, the thick rustic bread aka peasant bread was a perfect choice for this sandwich) *capresse(this was vegetarian and had roasted red pepper, eggplant, zucchini, arugula, sundried tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese; this was a great sandwich on whole wheat ciabatta bread; it was watery because of the veggies but this was simple yet delicious) *potato salad(they used red and Idaho potatoes; radicchio; it was creamy but not too overwhelming, definitely needed more pepper) I like this little place; it’s pretty much an upscale deli where you order at the counter and they serve you; they have a lot of fresh salads and veggies in the case; definitely need to try more here!

Might’ve stopped in here many years back, can’t remember. Anyways, came in yesterday for lunch. Ran into an old classmate of mine from middle school who worked there which was was a pleasant surprise. Just ordered a simple tuna on rye with lettuce and tomato with a side of macaroni salad. Yummy. Will definitely be back. Glad it is so close to where I live. An ideal lunching location in Upper Montclair.

The food at Sandwich Theory is good, nothing special, and the décor is very basic, nothing fancy. The best thing about this place is that the counter service is quick and consistent because the people behind the counter know what they’re doing. Oh and the chocolate chip cookies are simply amazing. Like crack. Thin and crispy. The cookie jar is kept behind the counter now, probably because people were trying to run off with the jar before. I tried the chicken and rice soup yesterday, which was full of big pieces of celery, carrot, and onion. Actually there may not have been any onion… I was slightly delirious from being congested and feverish so there’s a chance I just made that up. The flavor was nothing extraordinary, but then again, does chicken soup ever really taste extraordinary? One last thing about Sandwich Theory — the sandwich prices are cheaper than those at Jackie’s Grillette down the street. Come here if you’re looking for a cheap, quick lunch.
