Fern’s is an institution in Monte Rio. And it just gets better. You won’t find better pizza anywhere in West Sonoma. Sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients and plenty of meat. And you’ll most likely find things you need but don’t want to drive so far to the next big box supermarket. Hours are great: 6AM — 11PM and on Fridays & Saturdays they are open until midnight. Bottom line, go get the best pizza and pick up a homemade cookie as well. You will enjoy it.

Convenience at its best. Nice staff and good/​exotic pizza combos made from scratch. A must try of you are in the area and hungry and they also have all the regular convenients that a regular store would have.

A little bit of everything – soda to shoelaces – and a LOT of great pizza. They usually have six different varieties available by the slice, but if you phone ahead they’ll have a fresh pizza ready for you within 30 minutes. Hearty thick crust and unique topping combinations – the bacon, pepperoni, ranch makes for a satisfying, decadent meal.
Parking is problematic, but the staff is friendly and accommodating.

I’ve lived here two years, this place is no good. Parking is a hassle, there’s usually 2 – 3 homeless or dirty people laying on a picknic table out front. Inside looks good. I wouldn’t eat here. Nothing is fresh, I see people cooking, but it’s always for the next day’s breakfast. The pizza is old. Everything is expensive. PASS!

Nice staff, open late, good BLT’s, and a bunch of sweet stuff to munch on. Oh, and a D list porn star works here occasionally. Coffee’s passable as well.

Nice little store with deli. Breakfast sandwiches are good on the go. Had the sausage, cheese, and egg which was tasty. They have quite an assortment from pizza to egg rolls. Don’t forget your lotto tickets!

Tempe, AZ
Took a trip back up to Northern California to attend my brother’s wedding and we stayed in Monte Rio. The resort we stayed at had no restaurant, so I scouted out the area to look for eats. Two doors away, I found this place. Rustic, but really friendly and nice, Fern’s offers fresh custom deli sandwiches, pizza slices, mexican food, and the general variety of small town, «corner market» goods.
Great place for generous sandwiches to go. Plus, they’re open until 10pm which is really convenient. Thanks for your service Fern. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be sure to stop by for another bite.

Teeny tiny hole in the wall. Right off the main road to grab a quick drink, cute little old lady behind the register. The food items looked quite tasty but we were on a mission. If you need to make a pit stop between the coast and 101 this is your place.
