Stopped in at Lucy’s a couple times — once for breakfast and once for drinks. All I can say is that I got what I expected when coming here. Good service, pretty good food and certainly didn’t have the experience that some of the 1-star reviewers had. Sometimes I think people just want to complain. Too bad we can’t review these people on their lives. They’d think differently before attacking a good, local business who does nothing but help Monte Rio and the locals that live here. Bad Reviewers — if you don’t like the food on the Russian River — go home. We put up with tourist for several months each year — littering, getting drunk, polluting our river. At least have some class when commenting on a place that caters to your weekend get-a-ways.

Damn that was a good breakfast! Mr. WC had the homemade hash, which has often turned out to be not so homemade, not the case here, he loved it. The biscuits & gravy were on point. It was so good Mr. WC didn’t realize he had been eating off a three pronged fork until half way through the meal(don’t ask, childhood trauma). This must not be an uncommon occurrence, the server understood and came ready with a four pronged utensil in hand… tragedy averted. Great ambiance, super nice staff, and even a Bloody if I so desired. Get used to seeing us Lucy’s! I’ll be back for the incredible food and that Bloody!

The biscuits and gravy were better than some of the highly rated breakfast joints in the Bay Area. The fruit might have been the best I have ever had. The coffee wasn’t great, but overall it was delicious local restaurant.

Let’s be real. Unilocal’s sole purpose is to let annoyed people be annoying. Lucy’s is just fine. Good food, good prices and the Lounge is a hoot. If you’re expecting a Michelin star rated restaurant then keep going. We ain’t got none on this end of the river.

Friendliest service in the area matched only by its delicious breakfasts. Benedicts and smoked salmon scrambles on the weekends; delicious almond orange fresh toast and pancakes 7-days a week. We’ve never been a big fan of pancakes before, but theirs are light, fluffy and with just a hint of lemon and vanilla. If you want a Bloody Mary with brunch or a beer with your burger, the staff is happy to bring your drinks from the bar in the back. Lunch is good too – my mother ordered the patty melt last week and announced – «Best damn burger I’ve had in long time.» My 6-year-old nephew ordered the chicken fingers and they were fresh chicken breast strips in a homemade buttermilk panko batter. I know, because I stole a couple when he wasn’t looking! And the fresh fruit side wasn’t just a hunk of flavorless watermelon – fresh grapes, strawberries, blackberries and kiwi!

We went for a drive out to the ocean. On our way back into town, we decided to stop for lunch. Saw Lucys and decided to stop and support a local business. As we sat down, I noticed an ant on the table(no big deal). We placed an order and the waitress brought our drinks out. She gave my husband his drink, but returned to behind the counter with my drink. I watched her dump it out and refill the glass before she brought it to me. I took a sip, and noticed ants crawling up the straw from the glass. I didn’t drink anymore. The ‘Wrap’ was dry and flavorless. I was raised in the restaurant/café business. I know how it is to run a local mom & pop style restaurant. Keeping it clean and pest free is vital. This one fails tremendously!

Came upon Lucy’s on the way to Jenner. Coffee was nicely smooth, with cream just perfect. I ordered the half order of the biscuits and gravy and my partner ordered the short stack of pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were just right — soft biscuit and good flavor to the gravy, you won’t be disappointed. Short stack pancakes were large and a perfect consistency. Side order of sausage– yummy and just a nice fresh bite to it. Service top notch, for a cozy little neighborhood diner. I would have given five stars but the ladies room didn’t have toilet paper, and after camping that would be nice to have.

Just don’t. There’s really no reason to suffer through this place. Plenty of better options in Monte Rio.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars is for the passable service. The«food» get negative stars, like 5 negative stars. How in gods green hell do you make biscuits and gravy inedible. Uncooked flour lumps, and a mystery fishy flavour, what the hell. Anyone reviewing this place positively either was born without a functional pallet, or works at this abomination. Hang up your spatulas, you have no business in a kitchen.

They do basic breakfasts that are maybe a bit better than ihop with very friendly service(3 stars on that), but very importantly, the bar stays open until at least 11pm, has 4×40″ and a 54″ flat screen(showing sports) and serves ok pizza till they close. Try finding hot food anywhere around Cazadero that late and this place will seem like heaven!

Way to put the good reviews on the not recommended page, Unilocal.ANYway… I’ll just post this again. I’m pretty sure I could get this to stay on the recommended page if I put 4 stars instead of 5, but I refuse to do that. Eat it, Unilocal. Good food, friendly service in the front, awesome drinks and stellar Bartenders in the back. Your best bet is to go in on a Sunday, have a delicious Benedict for breakfast with a Ramos Fizz(best in the Universe) or a Bloody Mary and watch your favorite team on one of the 5 TVs. They get all the NFL games. ALL. OF. THEM. You can bet I’ll be there every Sunday from here on out!

November 3rd, five days later, and my husband’s gut is in turmoil still. Everything goes right through. He is super sensitive to cold now, whereas formerly he was the guy in a t-shirt and no jacket on a 40 degree day. Irrational crankiness pops up without warning. This man, my husband, was made very sick by these careless people who have no standards and no business in the food handling industry. Scuttlebutt in Monte Rio told us that the people now running Lucy’s had the golf course restaurant before this. At the end of their tenure there«you could’ve shot a cannon ball through any time of day and hit nothing» is what was said. Not much has changed for them having moved a mile down the road. Does anyone remember what it was that killed the Buddha? Food poisoning.

Nice, friendly, and funny service at this place. I had a breakfast burrito which came in a sundries tomato tortilla. It was nice and the crispy hash browns were refreshing as it gave the burrito great texture. She had the eggs and bacon. The hash browns were perfectly cooked. The bacon could have been a bit crunchier. Overall she thought it was thumbs up! There is a full bar in the back and the Bloody Mary was fantastic. The portions were good as most breakfast places give you too much food. The presentation of the food could have been improved. The décor is a little outdated but it feels warm and cozy inside. If you need a solid breakfast then stop here and catch a game on the TV. I will definitely come back here again. Not quite 4 stars but definitely better than 3 stars. I am giving it a 4 because the food and service definitely was good.

This is an oasis in the redwoods. A pleasant dinner with friendly folk right across from the Rio Theatre. A solid breakfast of eggs and chicken sausage with a great side of biscuits and gravy. I will stop driving past this place and make more regular visits.
