Oh Mylanta!!! If you’re traveling, stopping is a must! Quality Boars Head meats, whole foods, home made pizza crust and reasonable prices! Try the Ragin Cajun, the Tuscan, or the rotisserie chicken and don’t forget the ice cream!

A great surprise right off the highway from the little gift shop to the grocery, and most importantly the sandwiches. I had a roasted honey turkey with cream cheese and strawberry preserves. Outstanding pressed sandwich! I traded the other half with my other half for a Tuscan turkey wrap with spinach, mushroom, red pepper and mozzarella– another win! Great spot for travelers and better option than the typical junk off highway exits. Picked up a couple of delicious gooey cookies to go, had a hard time deciding between cakes with inch high creamy icing, macarons, coconut cream pie or a milkshake– we will be back.

Good halfway lunch stop when we drive from Ooltewah to see my brother in Murfreesboro. Makes me want to go out and buy a sandwich press so I can make my own. Vegetarian wife wishes there was maybe another option for vegetarians but she was still happy. Kids had ice cream afterwards which was a good price. Neat place in a neat town.

Stopped here on the way home from family vacation in NC based on Unilocal reviews. Was so glad we did. I had the Tuscan and my husband had the Cuban. Both were excellent! We will be stopping here again on our travels.

So I am working up around«the mountain». Looking for a god place to eat. Tavern? Closed… High Point or whatever that expensive place is called? Not in the mood. Steak and pasta place? They serve the same meat as Waffle House. The Mountain Goat Market was the only real option. Excellent food. This is NOT just a market. Dont let the name fool you. Easily some of the best soup i have had. I dont even like chicken and rice soup, but i was wanting soup… and this is REAL soup! The Flying Pig sandwitch is better than some steaks i have had. Boar’s Head products all the way around. They have a wide selection of craft beers if you are into that sort of thing. The vibe is kinda like a new school cracker barrel store met a mountain hippie and opened a high end deli. I had one of the more expensive sandwitches, milk, soup and a cookie and it was right at $ 15. I dont mind paying for good food and it was enough left over that i took a nibble with me for the road. I am a very particular person who is probably more critical than i should be. I dont hand out fives that often, but the Goat has one.

The downside of a road trip is finding great food at times. This did just the trick, it really reminded me of a food truck, but in a restaurant setting. Even on a Friday at 1:00 there was a long line, well worth the wait.

Delicious lunch stop and cute market too. Husband had the Cuban, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Comes with a pickle or all chips n drink for just $ 1.50 more. Great stop in between Atlanta & Nashville. Enjoy!

Cute place!!! Just created my own sandwich and it was delicious. I just didn’t know it was going to be heated. If I had been given the option I would have preferred my sandwich to be cold.

Thank God for the internet. Previously, the only dining option while passing over the I-24 mountain was the McDonald’s gas station at the top of the exit ramp. Now, thanks to internet, folks can find gems like the Mountain Goat Market. The folks are friendly, the sandwiches are tasty, and the service is quick. I definitely recommend including lunch at MGM in your plans when scheduling a roadtrip that passes through Monteagle.

Food was great. I got the Ragin’ Cajun sandwich and my wife got the soup of the day with the best banana bread pudding ever! We will stop again. Neat Building Fact — used to be an old GrayHound Station.

Amazing find! Two days on the trail and looking for something local to eat, came across this gem! Had the vegetarian Greek sandwich-best ever! Also had kale salad-yum. Great laid back atmosphere and small grocery store. Staff very friendly.

Once again, Unilocal delivers! On my way back to Nashville from Chattanooga, it was going to try and make it to Murfreesboro before stopping to eat. as I climbed up the mountain, I looked at Unilocal. It was the first one listed, and with a name like mountain goat market, I knew I just had to stop. Such a neat little market/restaurant, lots of fun knickknacks, and amazing food! on the advice of the clerk, I chose the Ragin’ Cajun over the Buffalo club, what an excellent choice! The staff seem pretty young, maybe college age, so whoever wrote the review about bad customer service, must have been expecting white linen and five-star dining experience. my food came out fast, and was delivered right to me. they were pleasant and courteous. After lunch, I walked around the market and looked at several of the items. $ 87 worth of impulse buying later, I walked out full and happy. My next trip passing through Mont Eagle, I would definitely consider stopping here again. There is not much to eat up on the mountain, and this by far is the best place I’ve eaten there.

I stop in here often for a sandwich. My favorite is the grilled gooey with ham, cheddar and pimento cheese. I also love their deserts which are all homemade(by the owner’s mother, I think). My two favorite are the brownie, which has chunks of chocolate and walnuts, and the real banana pudding with meringue topping, both of which are fabulous. They also have a good selection of groceries and are the best place to get deli meats and cheeses on the mountain(Boar’s Head). Overall a wonderful new addition to the area.
