Been meaning write this review for ages. Came in looking for tips for our first backcountry weekend. Hanes, the owner I believe, spent the good part of an hour helping us get what we needed. He helped us pack our packs correctly and plan our route and was unbelievably kind and enthusiastic.
We ended up having an amazing weekend up in Grundy state forest and we were so well equipt without buying too much. This place is a must do pit stop if you’re headed to the area. Will definitely visit again. Thanks Hanes!

First off, a little background on myself. I am an active adventurer. I cave, whitewater kayak, backpack and do a lot of day hiking in areas across the country and world. In 2013 i visited 10 National Park, so far this year I’ve visited 11. I’ve spent countless hours on the trail and have hiked climates from Southern New Mexico in the summer to the Tetons/​Yellowstone, Zion/​Bryce, Glacier, the Smokies and Rockies and the Winds.
All that being said, I know my gear and depend on it. I recently made a purchase here for a jacket I plan on using while summiting Kilimanjaro and was blown away by the knowledge the employees had of their technical clothing. Haynes offered excellent detail as to the construction and materials used by Patagonia to develop the Nano Air Hoody. Thanks again for your knowledge of the products you have in the shop. I can’t wait to break my jacket in!

This is a great stop on I-​24 in Mont Eagle. They have a great selection of hiking/​camping gear by big brands (Marmot, Mountain Hardware, NOrth Face, ect)

I wish I had known about this place growing up. Great location near I-​24. The owners and employees are super friendly and helpful. Product selection is as good as it gets anywhere and they carry the majoy brands: Mountain Hardwear, The North Face, Patagoina, ENO, Kavu, Asolo, Keen, Tom’s, etc. REI might have more in store, but they’re not in the thick of outdoors like Mountain Outfitters is. Competetive pricing as well. In business for 20 years stop by and help them keep going!
