Best convenience shop in Montebello.
So good if you’re in a snacky mood or wanting a random cup of ramen or cold drinks. Perfect.

I love this place I have been going there since I was a little girl! I remember when I was little and my dad used to give me money to go buy whatever I wanted and I would always go get a dr. pepper and hostess cupcakes or chips. I used to also love the toys they had, I would always by that on toy with a stick and a tube of this goo that you put on it and blow bubbles. I still go there now, I love getting my lottery scratchers from here I always win something (: The employs are also very nice!

My friends also cause the recycle is at the parking lot. So water or some snack are close. Workers are very friendly. Store is big and they have everything (milk, some bread, things the u always need. They closed at 11:00pm I recommend ;)

This place is über so convenient for me. Recycling center in the parking lot, water refill machine inside, all kinds of soft drinks, several produce items, and plenty of liquor. The customer service is ehh most of the time when I walk in I feel the employees are really tired and just want to sit down but can’t feeling shoplifters will take everything lol
The parking lot is pretty big but either way most customers including me pull up to the front. It seems like the balcoms wall is a magnet for graffiti! Every time I go I see different writing and even though the graffiti gets painted over whoever the Dumm kids are that write on here come back to write their Dumm s***

this liquor store has been here since as long as I could remember. But what I do remember is all the awesome times I was here. This place has had a couple owners and it has been remodeled to look more like a liquor store than a liquor store x market. I remember coming with my momma and getting juice jugs before going to school (elementary) and getting my chunky girl lunch (middle school) to my beer and alcohol now :”) and during that whole time, there was one clerk to was always employed and he pretty much saw me grow up hehe. he’s super chill and really friendly. Everyone here is really cool and they don’t make you feel like your being watched by your every move like in other liquor stores. Oh oh! And they have stuff for hookah (for people that are into that) and like slushie machines, lotto ticket machines, and if your looking for it a machine that dispenses water onto those 5 gallon jugs. Most importantly a big selection of alcohol and beer: D

very convenient with a recycling center right there

I have been coming here since 1991. Always the way to go for something quick. Usually some beer. They have all kinds of liquor, wine, beer, chips, soda. They have a water dispensor, lotto, phone cards, and now slushies. The guys behind the counter are really cool with the locals. Just a good place to go and get those last minute items.

love this place! its just 3 blocks from my house. The guys are always great and helpful. you’ll catch me picking up some tecates and limes lol

I’ve been going to this place ever since I moved to Montebello in January of 2000. I’ve seen it go through different owners. But nonetheless, it has stood as a worthy convenient market, to get that last minute item, or to cool off on a hot day with a cold beverage (alcoholic or not).

I walked into a wounderous wonderland or Alcohal. (there realy is a god). Balcom’s Mkt problay has one of thewidest selection of Hard stuff this side of the East L. A River (I don’t know if thats true but at least in Montebello).
The other day I stoped in to Pick a Bottle of My old friend and Road Dog Jack Daniels and his pal Coke, and cruised on down to my Home girls crib down the street and had our selves a couple (4, 24 oz glass) of that fine stuff. and bot let me tell you she and I were feeling pretty good, She kinda forgot about no working, then at about glass #2 She gets a Phone call from the Hospital where she has applied and they start asking her some question, at this point I walk out side to have a smoke and she comes out jumping around saying they are going to start a back ground check on her which is a good sign, ok back to Jack he makes things happen good and bad.
I also go to Balcom’s to pick up some Tomatio’s (Little Green Tomato like things) when I make Chilie Verde. they also sell Stella in 12pks.
Every time im in that part of the Bello I stop in to visit my friends.

I love this place. I’ve only been here about a dozen times, and most of those times were in the ‘80s, but I love it anyway because it’s the place my cousins still go when they need to pick up something quickly. It’s more of a convenience store, but they do have produce (I think), and the place hasn’t changed much since the ‘80s.
